I arrived to La Paz for a 6 day vacation. On my first day there I began with major tooth pain. I called Dr. Juan Alvarez and immediately felt like this was the best call. He got me in right away and turned out I needed a root canal. I've had a few of these back home and they were not pleasant. His care made me trust him and I had the root canal done. Really liked the care we got here. The office and staff are first rate - comparable to a modern, fancy practice in the States. Would consider this for other dental work, but found the charge was almost as much as the US for teeth cleaning and whitening. Since there was so little cost benefit, we won't go back, but would recommend getting any dental work here if you're in La Paz. read more

Dr. Juan is a terrific dentist. I have visited several dentists while living in the San Jose and La Paz areas and Marina Dental is my clear favorite( the view from the chairs is ridiculous ). From the moment I entered Marina Dental's waterfront facility I was greeted with the latest technology. This office offers the best dental care me and my family has ever received. Juan Alvarez is a very skilled dentist who took his time to not only explain the recommendations but give us a breadth of dental education and information we needed to make decisions. He is a major expert and even advised us against some expensive work that our son is still too young for that American dentists were keen to get us to spend money on.
