I do not have insurance and I was told the uninsured fee was $220 that was to be paid prior to the exam, which I did. The exam lasted about 10 minutes. During which Dr Chen told me everything looked fine and the nurse would be coming to do a Covid, Flu and Urine test for pregnancy. Mind you he never communicated these tests were not part of the exam, if there would be an additional cost, what that cost would be or if I even wanted them. Because of this I was under the impression this was part of the exam which I already paid for, they all came back negative right away. A few weeks later a got a bill from Quest Diagnostics stating that I owed over $1,700.00 for these 3 tests. If I believed I had Covid, Flu, or was pregnant ( which I didn't) I would have gone to CVS or Amazon and purchased one of these tests for $20.00. I immediately consulted my mother who is a lawyer and she let me know this constitutes as fraudulent practice, I am not responsible for paying this since the Dr did not disclose that these tests were an additional fee or if I even wanted them. Most people have insurance so these unnecessary tests can be taken and charged to the insurance company (insurance fraud) but in this case it was charged to me the patient without any disclosure of the fees. I currently have escalated claims going through both Quest and City MD but if those fall through I will be having a lawyer contact the Attorney General. Also I when I went back to the location and reported this to the receptionist her face dropped and she was apologizing and said there was no documentation/ outstanding bills on her end in the system she could even see regarding these tests. Something sketchy is going on at these location.

In general, the doctors I've seen before were professional, kind, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, my visit on December 14, 2025 was very different. I was seen by a female provider whose name I was unable to get -- the front desk did not provide it, and she did not introduce herself. From the beginning, her attitude felt cold and dismissive. I clearly explained my situation and asked if it would be possible to prescribe medication in a slightly larger quantity, as I come to CityMD regularly and currently do not have insurance. I paid out of pocket for this visit. Instead of calmly explaining medical or policy limitations, the provider responded with visible irritation and a negative attitude, which made an already stressful situation worse. She could see that I was anxious and in a rush, yet the interaction felt unnecessarily tense. At the end of the visit, I was told that two medications would be prescribed. However, when I went to the pharmacy, I received only one tablet of one medication, and the antibiotic that was promised was not prescribed at all. This was extremely frustrating and confusing, especially since the clinic was already closing and I could not clarify the issue the same day. What upset me the most was not even the prescription mistake itself, but the lack of professionalism and empathy. In all my previous visits to CityMD, providers were respectful, patient, and supportive. This experience felt like an exception, and unfortunately a very unpleasant one. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously, because CityMD has always been a place I trusted -- and I would hate to see that trust affected by interactions like this.

The MD provider was compassionate and competent as was the medical assistant. They did a culture for step, diagnosed my daughter, and sent RX to CVS down the street. Couldn't have asked for a more seamless experience. We were in and out in 20 mins and it was very simple.

First of all, their waiting room is beautiful and welcoming, spacious and calming -- especially given that it's an urgent care! I didn't feel stressed out waiting in it, which hasn't typically been my experience (in medical establishments related to anything urgent), in the past. The warm greeting from the lady at the front desk was delightful; I found out her name, which is Aureliah...kudos for the welcome, Aureliah! I mean, she actually smiled. Big. I hate to say this, but it's actually a big deal to get a genuine smile and an upbeat welcome in a doctor's office these days. So, here for it! : ) I waited a short amount of time, maybe ten to fifteen minutes, while I filled out my online registration form. Then, I was called in and got my vitals taken and some bloodwork done by Josephine/Josefina. Loved her positive energy and can do spirit! Plus, as I told her in person, that lady can draw blood quickly and easily. Thank you, Josephine! It was painless. Brava! Then, Dr. Emily came into the exam room, to complete my physical; she was fantastic, too. I was impressed by her kindness, competence and professionalism. All in all, it was, again, a terrific experience. And - I look forward to going back (said hardly anyone ever about getting their blood drawn)! LOL Thanks so much, ladies! All the Best, Katherine
