Our 5 year old dog broke his leg. Dog Holly put a soft cast on and when we requested to have it xrayed at 2 weeks to make sure it's healing correctly... she denied us. It's been 4 weeks now... finally got the X-ray... only to find out that it's healing in the wrong position and that he will need surgery. On top of that... he has developed bad skin sores from the soft cast wrap. Doc Holly finally said "You should see a surgeon so he doesn't lose his leg." Wish we were more demanding or gone somewhere else after 2 weeks for the x-rays!! Could've got his surgery done sooner and had better healing!

September 17, 2021 we took our 10 month old Siberian husky and German Shepherd puppy, Brodie, in for a cryptorchid neutering. Doc Holly removed his prostate and sent his home with us. Over the next 24 hours he leaked urine into his abdomen until we got him to an emergency vet clinic where they drained a litre and a half of fluid and sent us to WSU for a chance to have him live. When WSU did their initial exploratory surgery and opened him up they found the testicle right there and not hidden. Doc Holly did pay the deposit at WSU otherwise we would have been able to put him down as we could not afford the deposit. WSU had to do a complete urinary track reconstruction. He went through multiple surgeries during his month in the ICU and another surgery in December. He is urinary incontinent and has stage 1 kidney disease due to this error. We only ever heard from Doc Holly once after this occurred and she said that she would do anything to help and make sure this is right. Since that call we have heard nothing. We have had a very rough year dealing with Brodie's surgeries, diapers, vet visits, skin ulcers etc, my pregnancy and ultimately the loss of our daughter. For a small town vet I would have hoped for more rather than feeling abandoned. We have been reassured by her insurance Company that Doc Holly will be reimbursed every bit of expense she incurred. In the end we do not feel like we or Brodie have been taken care of the way he should have been by Doc Holly. Brodie cannot be left alone longer than 4-5 hours at the most due to needing his diaper changed so i have to work from home or my husband has to take him to work. None of our local pet resorts will take him due to his diaper so vacations we have to get someone willing to be at our house. Brodie is such an amazing dog and worth saving. I just wish we could be compensated for things that her insurance won't cover or don't find value in.

Doc Holly is the absolute best! She has been the most sensitive vet we have ever had...and we have raised a lot of household fur babies. From helping us emotionally walk our senior animals across the Rainbow bridge to helping ensure the health of our newer additions of puppies and kittens, her and the team are such a pleasure! The prices are fair and I always leave knowing our fur babies are in the best hands in CDA. I love that even when they can't get you an appointment in a quick turnaround, she offers a drop off option where she'll see them in between appointments. Thank you to Doc Holly and her team for being the best in Kootenai County!

Doc Holly and her vet tech Cera and staff are the BEST! We are new to the area and we're looking for a rabbit savvy vet. Doc Holly was recommended by a local rescue, a fellow bunny owner, and a local Facebook rabbit group. She is very rabbit savvy and is very detailed, careful and conservative in her approach. She is very knowledgeable and personable. I can still see her on the floor with the rabbit on her lap in my mind. She makes a vet appointment cheerful and pleasant for all involved. The exam room was well sanitized and was very clean. If I could give 100 stars I would. The rabbits and Coeur D'Alene are lucky to have her!

Doc Holly and her team are wonderful! We have bunnies and she is wonderful with them. We have had a few with complex medical issues and Doc Holly has taken the time to get to the bottom of the issues. She also was so compassionate and helpful in helping me accept that sometimes helping a pet to Heaven is the kindest act. Not the easiest for sure. She has the the kindest gentlest heart and truly loves what she does. I would recommend her to anyone!

This last weekend, I was very disappointed that I could not reach them when it mattered most. My sweet Sadie was diagnosed last Monday, a week ago today, with lymphoma. She was put on prednisone, which needs to be given with food. Friday, we went to the vet to get anti-nausea meds because she was having a hard time eating. By Saturday we could not get her to eat and she was miserable. We ended up in the ER vet because Prairie does not have an on-call person we could even just talk to. So, there we were in an unfamiliar place with a Dr unfamiliar to Sadie and us, having to make the most difficult decision without even the opportunity to speak with our vet. I understand vets can't be open all days, but I do believe someone should be reachable for these horrible situations that don't always occur during business hours. You either care about our fur babies or you don't. That care shouldn't stop on the weekends or only be shown when it's convenient. I'm talking about a phone call here....not an office visit. Nothing is convenient about end-of-life circumstances. So, I guess I'll settle on a "3" for the rating. Day-to-day, fantastic...weekends totally out of reach. Unacceptable in my opinion and they totally failed Sadie when she needed them most.

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS…read more I was told by their non-anesthesia vet dentist that my dog needs tons of dental work, including 1-3 extractions, and when I got second opinions from 2 extremely reputable veterinarians, NONE of that was true! I almost got scammed into getting paying THOUSANDS of dollars for needless dental work for my dog! Despicable! I will be reporting this to the American Veterinarian Medical Association! I will never go to this clinic ever again! IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: I had to learn this the hard way, but NO accredited Veterinary association recommends non-anesthesia dental cleanings. Only an anesthesia cleaning can thoroughly clean a pet's mouth and detect all potential issues before they become big issues. Beware of any veterinarian who offers non-anesthesia cleanings!!

Four weeks later my dog is doing better. It was not an emergency situation and you guys could not see her for more than 48 hours and did not make any room or did not even try. I was told This is a common complaint about your clinic when going to the new vet..., that you guys are over scheduled at this point... I know making money is important but not at the health of our dogs. I would hope you would take this into consideration when taking on new pets and new vets that are inexperienced. Again you couldn't get my dog in the same day or even the next day so you were clearly overbooked. Not being able to see my dog same day happens but not for two days and then causing complete panic saying I have to take my dog to the emergency room when I hadn't even had a chance to speak with a vet just the receptionist. Two days without a chance to speak to the vet or get my dog in is truly not great care. Hopefully this doesn't continue to happen and you are able to see the pets you have as current patients and not just refer the out to the ER because you are over scheduled not only for same day visits but the day after as well.

In the morning they called and labs were normal they said that they wouldn't have time to get me medication until after noon..... other appoints took priority over writing a prescription. Mean while she had has 6 seizures today n 24 hrs. they said I would have to wait or should take to the emergency vet. I finally came in at 2 o'clock got seizure medication for my dog and they gave me a letter stating that I should find a new veterinarian!!!! I think a sick dog takes precedence over regular check ups. And how rude of them to give me that letter I was nothing but professional with them since then many other people have told me that they have had issues with there.

I was quite nervous to put Lu under as I have heard horror stories of people putting their pets under anesthesia many times BUT Dr. White has a different method when putting pets under that has been pretty beneficial for geriatric pets and pets with heart conditions. Lu's surgery was fairly quick and done beautifully. When she woke up from the anesthesia it only took her about an hour to be back to her normal self! (Every animal "comes to" in their own time so don't be worried if it takes a little longer!) After Lu's surgery, Dr. White even cleaned her teeth and had her nails clipped. Dr. White was so kind in explaining after care, what was normal to expect, and was overall such a sweet and genuine person. I cannot recommend her enough. If your pet needs dental work, please come check out Inland Northwest Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

When we arrived, the waiting room was empty and we were taken back to a room fairly quickly. From there, everything fell apart. We then sat in that room for an extended period while multiple other cases were brought in and seen ahead of us, with no communication, no updates, and no reassessment. It felt like once we were placed in a room, we were effectively forgotten. I made it very clear to staff that our dog has an extremely high pain tolerance--including a history that would make most dogs shut down long before showing pain--and that if she is vocalizing and guarding, something is seriously wrong. That concern didn't seem to change anything. We understand triage. We are not asking to be seen before critical cases. But there is a difference between triage and complete lack of communication or interim care. At a minimum, an emergency hospital should: * Reassess patients waiting in rooms * Communicate realistic expectations * Provide some level of pain management for animals in obvious distress None of that happened. We left with the impression that unless your pet is actively dying, you can expect to sit--unseen and unmanaged--for hours. That's not an acceptable standard for an emergency facility.

I now have to take care of this dog and try and find it's owner. I then went to the local pet store and got the dog a bed and some supplies. I began submitting information to local Petfinder sites and the humane society. I called the humane society the next morning and they told me no one has reported a dog matching my new friends description. However, a few hours later, they reached out to me and told me that the pooches potential owner reported it missing. They put me in contact with the owner and it did indeed sound like I found the owner. I met up with the owner and donated to him most of the supplies I had purchased. They were super grateful and told me a little about the dog and how grateful they were to be reunited. I'm very grateful the Kootenai Humane Society got back to me so quickly and was able to help me reunite that dog I found with its owner. So kudos to them for their prompt efficiency. Appreciate their help and attentiveness.
