This place says it's a barber shop on the window, but it's actually a ladies' and gent's hair salon. I went here the other day as my usual salon - The Hair Co up the street - seems to have shut for good with no warning. Anyway, there was nobody inside except for the Polish hairdresser, who told me she could do a dry cut for me right away for €20. She was pretty slow and I did wonder at one point if she knew what she was doing - especially as I thought she was cutting my top layers too short! To be honest I nearly had a stroke when I saw her at that (I had visions of coming out with '80s spikes!) and I questioned her on it. But she assured me that she was merely tidying it up in the same style I came in with. Thankfully, it all ended well and she even blow-dried it for me even though I didn't expect her to. It was only a dry cut after all. She spent a good 45 minutes on me - literally laboured over my high maintenance fringe! - which was amazing service for €20. And now that I've washed my hair at home I am very pleased with the cut. Turns out she did precisely what I wanted and my panic was needless. I would definitely go back! read more
