I called the number on their Yelp page and the person on the line answered without identifying the business or her name. I thought I had called a wrong number at first. Keara cut my hair a few years back and I loved loved loved the style! I moved from the South Bay and tried to find another great stylist in SF. Now that was a waste! Four different stylists completely butchered my hair, which is really hard to do. (I have easy hair to cut and style.) Do or Dye is a super cute little salon that's run by women who love what they do, and it shows. The salon itself is set up and displays their personal style, cute, clean, and eclectic. Parking can be a pain sometimes, but just go around to the back of the building and spots are available and usually closer to their front door than what you would find in front. Lesley has been my hair stylist for years and years. It's always a struggle to find someone you can trust to keep your hair looking good, and you can absolutely trust Lesley. I have had everything from super short almost boy cut hair to really long layers all the way down my back, and she has been able to easily tackle anything I throw at her. And better yet she is usually able to get me in for an appointment in a very reasonable amount of time, which is important. I've gotten my mom and sister to go to her too, so now she is the official hair stylist for all of the women in my family. I have been seeing Lesley for 7+ years now; she is the best ever! I was referred to her for my pixie cut after trying several other stylists. She is great at talking with me about what I want and how the previous cut worked out. I've drastically changed my cut a few times and brought in pictures. She always did an amazing job tailoring the new cut so it looked great with my face and hair texture. I am very picky about my hair and always leave happy! The salon is awesome (I still think of it as being "new")! It has massage chairs at the shampoo station and lots of funky decor, plus candy! Parking is easy unless there is a function at the banquet hall next door but I've never been not able to find a spot. Lesley is an awesome person. I am moving away and won't be able to return for my haircuts. I just hope I will be able to find someone half as good as her. read more

I absolutely love Erin and this salon. I started following her on Instagram-- and met up with her at a local vintage event. She created an amazing 1940's style and kept me laughing the entire time! Once I met her, I made an appointment for a vintage friendly haircut. The salon is airy, well lit, and appointed with massage shampoo chairs, big mirrors, and an insane, vintage vibe! I found my home. All three stylists have been delightful and welcoming, but Erin is my hairdresser. She is truly an artist: professional , skilled, confident, and versatile. She knows exactly what I want and need to create the 1940's-50's styles I like to wear. Last November, she helped me embrace my natural grey and I am so glad we did this. My sister had recommended Lesley, her go-to hairstylist for years, for a haircut and I had a great experience. I asked for layers and side swept bangs and it came out looking fantastic. She started out by cutting little by little with my bangs to make sure it was a desirable length. The best part is that she does free bang trims so you can stop by when it's getting a little long. First time there and I loved it. The atmosphere is warm and charming. The ladies are lovely and true to their craft. Parking is a non-issue and they have chai coffee!!! I had not cut my hair in about 2.5 years and took the plunge. I donated about 12 to 15 inches to a charity that makes wigs for children and won't sell it off for extensions. Keara took the picture I showed her and enhanced the look for my face by 100%. She gave me the shaved look on the left side and tastefully did so with scissors. It was done so well that I can flip my hair over and no one knows. It's a party on the left and business on the right. She is very reasonably priced and does NOT do those ridiculous "up charges" like $20 extra for a blowout as some stylists do in Los Gatos. I highly recommend Do or Dye Salon. read more
