I interviewed a number of local painters and obtained five estimates to paint the entire outside of our tri-level home. Although Alex Wright's wasn't the Owes to, my wife and I were both impressed by how knowledgeable he was, his directness and sincerity in explaining the preparation process, and the proper types of products he would use. His crew arrived at our home around 6:30 each day, but waited for me to open the gates to my side yards at 7 am. Everyone in his crew obviously loved their working for Alex (most for 10 years or more), and took their time preparing the stucco and wood surfaces for 3 days before ever picking up a paint brush! They cleaned up the entire project each day before leaving for the day. I supervised each day, and was so impressed by their attitude I treated them to In-and- Out burgers one day The result is fabulous. See photos attached. Fantastic job and very good pricing! I hired Alex to repaint our guest bathroom (walls, ceiling and base boards) He met me initially to give me a quote and then was actually able to come back the next day and have his employee Carlos start the work at 7:30am the following day. Which was amazing, since we were anxious to get the bathroom painted. He came back the next morning with Carlos to introduce him, and get him started. (Very professional if you ask me) One of the best things was that he even went to Home Depot to pick up the paint color that I had already selected. Saved me a trip to the store! The whole job was completed and picked up by 3pm. At which time Alex came back to inspect the bathroom. (That was a nice surprise) Everything was done very professionally and with precision. Quality work at a fair price. I've worked with DIW Painting on over 10 projects, including twice (over 20 years) on my (complicated and dangerously tall) personal residence in Topanga. DIW is professional and leaves the project clean and "buttoned up" each time they leave for the day. This definately makes working with them less invasive and less of a burden. They are efficient and highly experienced, which seems to make the completed job go much faster and usually ahead of schedule. 5 Stars, A+ - would give em more if I could. read more

Well another 5 star review. Basically Alex and his crew did exterior repair and painted our house. He spent good time with us in the planning stages, and, because he is a sharp guy, was aware of pandemic supply complications in the market that would have affected the availability of our colors. The moment we picked them, he was on the phone calling around to various paint resources to make sure that he could find enough of what we needed to proceed, reserved it and so ensured that he could do what we were asking. So we didn't have to deal with picking a color and then several days later being told we couldn't get enough of it. The next thing any of us wants when we are having any kind of work at our home is good communication. Start days, start times, days we had to call off because of pending weather. Every step he was clear and helpful. His crew were great: friendly, on time, good communication, incredibly tidy and respectful of working in a residential neighborhood. A few days after they were done, Alex called to make sure we were happy and to see if there was anything we noticed that needed a touch up. As hard as I looked, I couldn't find a single one. It was seamless and painless. There was a medium amount of touch up and repair of stucco, all well done. Be smart because particularly with painters, you get what you pay for and if you are pricing with a lot of companies, you will find cheaper but if you want great work done with as little pain and inconvenience as possible, you won't find better. read more

The team spent a great deal of time prepping and sanding, and when finished not only was all our exterior wood saved, but now this 60 year old house looks as good as new! I would like to say character and honesty is the most important thing in hiring someone. All I know about Alex is that, he is a very honest man. I lost my wallet with all my credit cards and bank cards and driver's license and everything including $250 cash. Alex found my wallet and he drove a long ways to the address on my driver's license. Unfortunately I don't live at that address anymore. The people that live there now, told him that I moved away a long time ago. So Alex found in my wallet my auto insurance card with a different address. Alex drove a long ways again only to find out that I didn't live there either anymore. So Alex went back to his home and took out each little piece of paper in my wallet until he found an old application with my phone number on it. He called me and the next day he drove another 25 minutes to meet me and return my wallet with all my important things in it including the the $250 that I needed very much. Again I don't know Alex but he gave me his card and if I ever one day own a house. I would like to hire him to paint it because he is a good guy and a very honest man. read more

I had the whole interior of my apartment painted. Crooked lines in every room, paint on my carpet, and paint on my windows. I was, and still remain disappointed. That said, after reading my initial review, the owner - Alex - called me to try to rectify the situation. He seems to be a genuine guy who truly does care and wants you to be happy with his work, but if that's true then he hired the wrong people to work for him. I did not have them return to do any proposed fixes, as I am still finding new spots of paint on my carpeting from the original visit. read more
