I could not have had a better experience. Alright, maybe this resonates with you. You've heard the tale of being wary of mechanics because the lot of them will charge you up the hoohaa and you pay an arm and a leg, only to come back because your original probably wasn't fixed or if it was, then something else starts going wrong? WELL! As a new girl in town, I was afraid of this exact thing. I did the research, made the calls, compared the numbers, see who passed the vibe check and all that. THIS IS THE PLACE I CHOSE AND I DID NOT REGRET IT. My engine was rumbling like a 8.0 earthquake and my car would jerk and I was afraid I had to have an engine replacement. I took it in to Edgar who is honestly one of the sweetest people. He didn't try to scare me or upsell or any weird tactics here. He actually was giving me advice and letting me know what he would tell his own daughters on being a little more car savvy so that you DO NOT get taken advantage of. Long story short, my silly car just needed an oil change. Edgar also used some oil lubricant something or other and I swear, before moving up to SJ, I have taken my car only to the dealership to get serviced and after one service from Edgar, my car has never ran more smoothly, sounded more soft and feeling a noticeable glide when I drive now. I definitely will be going back and recommend him to everyone. He's genuine, fair, and works quickly. I got very good service done for all the repairs at very much affordable prices. I really appreciate the work they have done on my car. Want to take the time to let you all know about my experience with DNT. Quite honestly found it by accident was originally looking for another mechanic in the area, but it was closed due to the pandemic. In desperate need I noticed that this particular place was open and searched them on yelp. They had few reviews but had a five star rating. So I took the leap of faith and went in and spoke with Edgar. He was friendly and approachable and agreed to take at look at my 2011 535i that was having a coolant problems. I dropped my car off 2 pm and he called me back by 5 with a proposal. It was significantly less than what I had been quoted from the dealership. He gave me his diagnosis of the problem and felt that it seemed very similar to what I was told originally. But At a fraction of the price. My car was ready the next day and it appears to be running great. I feel very lucky to have came across these guys and will most certainly be using them again for tune ups and any other incidentals that may arise (knock on wood). read more

The owner is very personable and has been the most honest mechanic I've ever worked with. He's been able to help me with every mechanical and electronic issue my vehicles have had and I've been very grateful for his once-overs before several of my long (2000 mile) trips, through the Sierra Mountains, to ensure the vehicle was in to shape for the journey. On the older vehicle, as many things were breaking down towards the end, he would work to provide a list of essential needs vs. Items that could be postponed 'x' numbers of months, which helped me minimize cost and to budget for future work.
