Update: got notice that "someone" commented on my review which says opposite , I wish there is a place on yelp I can post the photos of those defect cabinets, and I wish I had recorded the conversation I had with the dnc sales person so you know who is lying. They are dishonest person, both online and offline. I went with my gc on august 3rd and ordered cabinets and two vanities, the cabinets arrived on august 16. On august 17, they told me one of the vanity is out of stock and if I still want it I have to wait for one month. I was like "what are you doing in the last two weeks? Why don't you tell me earlier? Now I have to shop for a vanity which is in need in two days." But they just said they do not have it now. It gets worse. When my gc opened the cabinets on august 18 and tried to install them , he found that's not what we ordered. We want two 27" base cabinets but they sent one 30" and one 24". I called dnc directly, of course they said they told me about the change before, but they did not! Then we found the cabinets are poorly painted and has cracks here and there, also the cabinets have different heights, so my gc has to cut them equal in my apt. I argued with dnc, they again denied everything and refuse to do anything to compensate. I am so tired of dealing with them, they are horrible, both the cabinets and the people who work there. Unquestionably the WORST experience I have ever had with a business! I am left with damaged floors, and a completely uneven kitchen island due to this company's lack of professionalism, attention to detail, and poor craftsmanship. As part of a recent renovation, my wife and I purchased quartz countertops and backsplash from DNC. We used DNC because they supplied the Kitchen & Bath shop - owned by a woman named Nicole - who we ordered our kitchen cabinetry from. The problems began when DNC sent someone to take measurements. He spoke very little English. He also measured by hand (as opposed to lasers & computer like others will do) and provided no template, as is customary. Two weeks later the installers came, and again there was some language barrier. It became clear that mistakes were made on SEVERAL of the measurements (ie. a 54 inch piece was supposed to be 45 inches, the island was .5 inches too wide). To fix it, they cut the stone in my apartment, which took a long time and filled my apartment with dust - which is highly toxic (look it up). Stone of this nature is supposed to be cut with a water saw, but DNC takes no such precautions. . Due to the errors and cutting required, the installation took several hours longer than scheduled. Zita, the proprietor complained to Nicole - my contact at the kitchen and bath shop to complain about how long the job was taking. I felt very pressured, though the delays were due to their own errors. When everything was done, they asked me to inspect so they could leave. My apartment was COVERED in dust, and the countertops looked very unclean due to silicone spots that were still on the surface. Despite feeling pressured to let them go, I asked them to try to do a better job cleaning, while I looked over the work. I also called my general contractor to come inspect. He took a quick look and thought it looked ok. So I paid them in full, and let them leave. I spent over 4 hours that night and the following morning trying to clean the countertops and dust that had settled into every corner of my apartment. Because of all of the dust on the floor, I had to remove the protective paper that my general contractor laid down after the floors were installed. Upon removing the paper in the kitchen, I saw about a dozen dents in the floor - right where they were cutting! The installers cut the stone over my brand new floors - without ANY protection. Zita denied everything, said I had no proof, and that I shouldn't have let them leave if they damaged the floor. I told her that I didn't see the damage because of the paper covering the floors, but that did not excuse the fact that they made no effort to protect my floors. They could have easily used the melamine slabs in my apt from the renovation. A professional company should not need to be told this. It gets worse! Later that week, I realized the countertop over the island was crooked. The overhang on the left of the island was the agreed upon 1.5". The right side however was only .5". How did this happen? They incorrectly cut the stone to fit around a beam in the island. They cut for a 22" beam instead of 21". Rather than admitting their mistake they just pushed the stone an extra inch to the beam, reducing the overhang on the right side of the island by 1". DNC again denied everything. Zita refused to speak to me... and hangs up on me, saying I am not her customer and (though I paid her directly) and that I should take it up with Nicole. I told her Nicole did not measure or install the stone, and that either way Zita had to make this right for me, or Nicole. Nicole also got nowhere. Despite all of the damage and mistakes and despite photo proof, Zita is unwilling to take any responsibility. Because I didn't notice the damage before they left and because she was paid, Zita believes she is free and clear. What a horrible battle this has been. There are so many honest and professional companies out there who are deserving of your business. I recommend that you stay FAR away from DNC. read more

When it comes to things like home improvement - I think it's fair to say - you really do get what you pay for. Personally for us, we knew that we didn't need the absolute best or fanciest or high-end cabinets or furnishings. We shopped around after all the usual sound and smart research, as we do with everything just like most folks would when spending their hard-earned money. We had purchased a co-op and because it isn't a huge property with a huge kitchen, nor a super long term investment - we wanted something solid, durable, good, at a value for the money. Big box shops like Home Depot, Lowe's and other retailers were way too time-consuming for the process of even inquiring or getting realistic quotes. There's also no room to bargain or work with any prices, delivery, time frame or even check on things locally on person as their processes all take place far from the store. We stopped by several local mom and pop retailers before we settled on DNC. Zita was helpful and knowledgeable. She clearly runs the business and just gets to the point. She doesn't judge because all you need is are a few simple cabinets; she treated us just fine - efficient and answering our many questions. I am not what one might call an easy customer. I ask alot. I document everything. I trust no one. Haha. But I am very reasonable and I knew what we were getting when we chose DNC. You get what you pay for. We got solid wood cabinets. Finished. Stained. Painted. Absolutely flawless? Perhaps not. Scratched up, cracked, broken and not as promised? Definitely not. We got what we expected and paid for and we were pleased. They were timely, but I also did my part and followed-up and kept close tabs on progress and schedules. I kept track of deposits and payments and got signatures and receipts as I needed. I visited their store, asked questions, measured (and re-measured!), visited their warehouse (nearby), changed my mind once or twice and actively worked with them. I think that's normal and to be expected in home improvement. We ordered a full top and bottom set of kitchen cabinets. Soft close and custom wine rack shelf. All good. My contractor did the pickup and install so I can't comment on delivery or installation. Also the hardware for cabinets - she practically threw them in at dirt cheap prices after I bugged her for price-matching with Home Depot. But we also ordered quartz countertops. Cut, finish, preliminary fitting, delivery and installation - all good. And we also ordered bathroom floor tiles. They were also all good. We're 3 years in and everything is fine. Nothing is a problem. Everything's as it was, holding up, nothing falling apart. We recommend them to others - so long as they know - you get what you pay for. It's good, solid products but maybe not if you're expecting high-end luxury from a chinese mom and pop shop on College Point Blvd. Compared to Ikea, we felt it was still closer to the real thing. read more

I ordered about 65 Squ. Feet of Ceasarstone and Zita gave me the best quote in town. They screwed up the first measure (so DOUBLE CHECK it) But Zita was sweet enough to fix her mistake and throw in some cheap knobs to make up for it. I would go back for countertops and fixtures again. read more

The worst ever quality and service I have ever experienced in my entire life! No one should buy from them! 1. Poor quality, poorly assembled, nothing looks like the cabinets in their show room. 2. The owner Zita yelled and hung up when customer service issues needed to be discussed! 3. They refused to exchange the damaged doors and fix the poorly painted cabinets. 4. we took a day off to go to their factory to pick up the granite and marble that weren't there as those weren't even ordered!! It turned out, the marble won't be able to come in two weeks. Then we threatened us that if we want to wait for the marble, we will need to pay someone else to pick up. All their faults, and you pay for it!!! I wish there were ways other than Yelp reviews I can use to protect my purchase as a desperate buyer!!! read more

I don't know why they thought DNC is bad.When there are 100 persons,2 persons say it is bad,then you can ignore it to listen another 98 persons' voice .When you deal with a person who don't known appreciated,it is the worst thing in the world.They only know complained.They always want to spend 1 penny to get in and see a broadway show!That's funny!If you can afford a Chanel,why do you go shopping in unbranded store?When you shopping in College Point you just want things cheap!
