We made a mistake with our paperwork and had to go back home and do it again. We came back 20 mins later and there was a different lady at the front desk. This 2nd lady was super rude. My husband was there to get a few titles transferred over since his dad passed away. He asked the lady a question about the titles and she stared at him and asked back "You seriously don't know the answer to that question??" Really? Do you not have any compassion? No, we don't know the answer to that question. We wouldn't bother you if we did. She didn't even answer us.Probably because she didn't even know what the answer was. We just got our ticket and sat down. The lady who called up with our number was super friendly and went above and beyond for us. She answered all our questions and was really sweet. Overall, everything was good except for that mean 2nd lady who really needs to consider a different field in work.

It was packed and this had my son all over the place. The grace we were shown was amazing. I wish I had gotten names. The lady who helps those who walk in looking lost, she took us to a teller and asked if she could just take us. She did the same for the photo. The teller was patient and sweet with us. The picture lady as well (I'm sure you can imagine how hard it was to get a picture of him) they cheered when we captured the money shot! But also a shout out to the ppl of Greenville as everyone there was kind and patient with us. People there could not have been more friendly or helpful in responding to the concerns expressed in my previous review, especially those related to my wife. First, they sought out and found a cancellation for today at the same office and booked me first thing today. Second, they took down my complaint and promised an appropriate follow response up which came but a short time later. Indeed, the supervisor of the day for the lady mentioned below called me directly. And when we did not connect, she called me again today. Impressive. Perhaps word had already passed on to the Brevard office because the lady was so different today, not just with me but with the score or more of folks present inside and out. Dare I say, friendly, helpful, thoughtful. When I met with her to turn in my CA license for a NC license, she was patient, personable, professional. Particularly patient because I am new to the state and don't know all the highway signs as I should Took more than the 20 minutes she had predicted. But she worked through it and was kind, considerate throughout. Can only hope that this much more preferable sort of approach to customer service will become the benchmark for this office. It works!

Had to go to change over names of titles and had all the paperwork from probate court in order but the guy employee told us we would have to go to County Tax office, pay taxes again, bring the receipt back to him, then pay taxes once more to get a plate. Went all the way to County, the woman behind the counter was very helpful and didn't understand what the dmv employee was talking about and sent us to the Spartanburg dmv down the road. She told us don't go back to woodruff for anything other than to renew license or turn in plate, they get a lot of people turned away for stuff they should be able to do right on the spot.

It was packed with a line inside around the corner. I waited in line and was told to go to the county bldg to pay property tax on my vehicle before I could transfer my registration. I left at about 4:15 and was back by 4:45. The line that was there was gone and the seating area was just about empty. I commend the 2 ladies at the front for simultaneously asking people waiting in line what they may need before even getting to the front, for asking other co-working at the booths if they needed any assistance finishing up current customers and everyone else not really showing that it was 5pm and they were ready ta go. They do things a bit different in SC than they do in LA but overall this is a great location to do business. I will definitely be back. Thank you

DMV in Ballentine SC, between Chapin and Irmo…read more I have found this location to generally be able to get in and out with not too long of a wait. Upon entry you speak to person in booth that issues a paper ticket number like a deli. The numbers are different based on what service you say have come for. There is a large seated waiting area where you fill out form given with provided clipboard/pens lined on wall. Numbers are announced over loud speaker and displayed on TV screens throughout listing up to 6 numbers. There are around 6-7 active counter windows distributing the service varieties. I find the wait during weekday mornings to be between 15-20 minutes before get to a window. I would not count on short wait times in afternoon close to end of day as I've witnessed the line out the door just to get the paper ticket. The employees at windows are jovial as can be considering it is the DMV, I have not had a bad experience. One negative beside occasional long waits is sometimes they will direct you to stand and wait. I do not think the ticket system has always been used here but the implementation has been a big plus.
