I secured my truck online. I came in dressed to move, even I thought I looked sketchy lol... I was greeted, accommodated and even guided away from options I thought I needed, he wasn't trying to up sell me, which was appreciated. Mindset: I had retired, sold my home and made a temp move for 30 days, then I was leaving the country. So my brain was puddy... I gave away and then had to move my living room furniture and dining room furniture (I know, I know - give it away and have to move it yourself - lol). I was worried about leaving my car parked so close to the trucks. The owner assured me it would be okay and it was. What really impressed me when I returned the truck it was late and dark, they were closed. The husband and wife aka the dynamic duo came out and helped me bring the truck in after hours (behind the locked gate), and even helped get the moving blankets out the truck, it was cold, very cold and did it all with such a pleasant attitude. Over the years I've moved to several cities and there is something different about the customer service at Uhaul, not that I ever had a bad experience, but now the customer service is memorable and personable. My review was way too long I know, but gratitude - I have so much gratitude for the help and service from those two.

Long story short, I bring it back before noon and only drove it for 13 miles yet they charged me 120$ for no reason at all. Horrible explanation, Bobbi Harper didn't even mention there are free blankets in the car and she even charged us extra for blankets we didn't know already existed. She also didn't even give us the receipts, she charged us an extra 25$ for not folding the blankets of the U-Haul like that's my problem or chores. If you are looking to move make sure Bobbi Harper isn't the one helping you out because you will be scammed.

Unfortunately, they do NOT get a bonus each time we give a good review. That was a LIE and what I was told which is what sold me on the entire EXPENSIVE move. The ONLY reason why I didn't choose a less EXPENSIVE moving company or just snag some TaskRabbit movers was BECAUSE I was told I did NOT have to tip BECAUSE the drivers earn a bonus ON MY GREAT REVIEW. So when the movers came I had bought them some bottles of water each and had a $20 bill for each for an extra lunch tip. I had NO IDEA they worked for tips until later. I was SO ASHAMED that NONE of the $990 cost for 4 mile move was NOT being shared directly with them. I thought the bonus was the sign of a great company caring for their people. It was a blatant lie. At this point they have cheated my pocketbook or the movers with this deception. How many times have these excellent workers not been given better tips because we were told we didn't have to?! A day later they tried to charge and extra 450.00 without our authorization because allegedly their new guy made a mistake and didn't charge it properly, but they never tried to call us to tell us and then it took me having to call and argue with them before they tell me the breakdown (still never got a proper receipt). They then pulled the security deposit out from the original amount charged to cover their mistake and then reapplied the amount they wanted. Poor communication, poor training, poor customer service!!!!! IF YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, DO IT!!!
