Recently, I had to find a dentist other than my usual dentist (NYU Dental) to fill out a pre-surgical evaluation form for me; a neighbor told me about Dr. Gerber--who went to NYU Dental--so I booked an appointment. He did the exam and filled out the form; it's great to know about a dentist in the area. Dr. Gerber is just a walk from my house, so it's more than likely I'll be back. read more

Great experience getting a routine cleaning here. Got an appointment over the phone for a week later and waited 30-45 minutes to be called in after filling out paperwork. There's a smoothie place and $1 pizza spot nextdoor if the wait is long and you're hungry and feeling naughty. Glowing 5 stars for the helpful front desk staff and especially the hygienicist. She was very welcoming and reassuring when cleaning my teeth. The process felt very efficient and thorough- she explained as she went and made sure I was informed and comfortable. She washed, scrapped, and flossed every crevice, paying attention to the front-facing visible areas. My sister also got her cleaning done by the same hygienicist and had a pleasant experience as well. The doctor only spoke to me briefly since I was only there for a routine cleaning. He was hard to understand due to the slight accent and seemed to avoid eye contact but my other companion was very happy with his cavity fillings and said the doctor was careful with the process. I think the doctor pays more attention to patients who need more serious procedures. The facilities are clean enough where it matters with the equipment but could benefit from a more thorough cleaning. Every one of us left with a nice baggie with a travel size Crest sensitivity gum toothpaste, soft bristled toothbrush, and floss. I'll definitely be back for my next cleaning. This is a review based on averages. Components: 5 star - the staff: the receptionist ladies and Amber, the dental hygienist. Very cordial, polite, professional. They are great! It helps lessen any anxiety you have on going to the dentist. 4 star - ambiance. The place is centrally located on Delancey Street. 3 star - Dentist. Bedside manner needs a little refinement but if your insurance accepts him, go to him. He tells you as it is. :-| read more

The waiting times at this place is ridiculous . You can have an appointment at 1:30 and they won't see you a quarter to 3:00. You have to be prepared for a cleaning to spend at least 2 hours there. read more

Friendly receptionist. Had a 4 o'clock appt and was out before 4.30. Friendly doctor and informs you of what he is doing. Recommend!!

The 1 Star is for the receptionist. She was kind, sweet and helpful. Where do I begin... I arrived at 3:45 for a 4:00 appointment. I wasn't seen by the doctor till 5:25 No apology from the dentist for the wait time. The office had embarrassingly no protocol for covid. Waiting room area had no social distancing in place. People weren't wearing their masks properly and no one seemed to care. They only checked my temperature once I was seated in the dentist chair. (What good is that?) He started by giving me X-rays. The X-ray equipment was filthy looking and obviously was not sterilized between each patient. He also hung the X-ray equipment over my purse. (You better believe I sprayed Lysol on it the moment I got home.)They had no extra precautions set up for covid. Honestly, did not feel safe with regards to that. Dr barely talked to me. He had bad bedside manner and called my teeth unattractive. Now let's get to the cleaning.. the cleaning which is what my appointment was scheduled for was a complete joke. It lasted no longer than 5 minutes. He also neglected the back of my mouth? Wtf. I left the office with my mouth not feeling any cleaner than when I walked in. He barely scraped my teeth, brushed them like he was in a rush to finish ( because he was, there were 4 people waiting. They had over scheduled people) After heading home I flossed and found the remnants of the lunch I ate before I went to the appointment. Do not recommend. Stay away. Waste of time, money and I do not trust my teeth with this person. read more

I've been going to Dr. Gerber for about a year. The office decor and equipment are a bit dated. However the staff are friendly and Dr. Gerber is always patient at answering my questions. Overall the place is decent despite having equipment that looks like it's been around since the Cold War. read more

I chose this place for its closeness to my home. Bad mistake. Three years ago, I had a crown done, and now, I have to extract the tooth. So much money for a crown and it couldn't prevent it from rotting underneath. I gave it two stars instead of one because I have another dentist who is even worse. read more
