Half the time the hot water pressure for my shower went, yet I had hot water at the other three sinks in the apartment. And even though the staff was quick to respond when I called to let them know there was a problem, it seemed like the techs who fix everything, don't really know what they're doing. My water pressure worked for like a week and then went again. I hate taking cold showers! The neighborhood is also not the best. My car, and my other two previous roommate's cars were vandalized in some way. And even though this is not the complex's fault, when these things were reported to the office, no effort was made to install cameras. All that was done were "No Trespassing" signs that were placed at the entrances of the complex. Big deal. As if anyone does anything to listen to those. My roommate's car was stolen right out of the parking lot, and my other roommate's 30,000 dollar car had a rock thrown at the side and a huge dent was placed. This is NOT a safe neighborhood to live in. If you have any animals, the fee is decent. But you can't have any dogs, and that is a downside. Cats are allowed, however. The prices for the apartments are decent, but it is not worth the stress and aggravation. There are much more nicer apartments that are relatively the same price in much nicer areas (such as Emmaus). I would not recommend this complex to anyone. Keep on looking.

I just moved away from Jacob's Woods after living here for about a year and a half. I'll definitely…read moremiss it. Apartment layouts are spacious and include patio/balcony and garage parking. Maintenance staff is seriously as good as it gets both keeping the grounds in order and responding to tenants' needs. Office staff probably won't win any awards for friendliness (with the exception of the receptionist), but they're hard-working people who take the happiness of their tenants seriously. The concierge service is a nice plus along with the pool, hot tub, etc. The community is made up of a lot of retirees along with a number of families with young children. I really appreciated living somewhere that wasn't overrun with 20-somethings hosting lots of loud parties, as is so often the case. It's a great location, minutes from both the tollway and commuter rail. Notable negatives: 1) the buildings are typical apartment construction, which means that noise does carry through from neighboring apartments to some extent. It was never very loud or enough to be annoying, but it did exist. 2) the Hatfield meat packing plant is very close by, and sometimes the stench wafts over this part of town. It never affected our apartment, but you can sometimes catch an unpleasant whiff when standing outside. A rare but unpleasant consequence of living in this part of town. Overall, I was sad to leave Jacob's Woods and would definitely recommend it!

When you move out the electric remains on even though you payed your final bill and notified the electric company of you lease termination. This company then sends you a bill for the electric used until a new tenant is found. This is totally illegal. If you hang pictures you will be billed for holes and the carpet is so cheap it is stained beyond cleaning and you are charged. Many times the units aren't painted and the carpet isn't replaced. When you call for maintenance to many times you are black listed and they won't come out anymore. These are expensive dumps.

However what does greatly influences my rating on living here depends on your neighbors. There is zero sound proofing in the floors/ceilings. When you have someone living above you that does not comply with lease indicating requirement for floor coverings AND the padding, makes your daily life miserable. One should not FEEL their neighbors simply moving around. Management does not reinforce this and you find yourself just having to live it everyday. Every sound is amplified without proper coverings in place. Really like playing Russian roulette. Know and respect thy neighbor - does not happen here. Good luck.
