My nail technician Kam was fantastic, she really took care of me. I specifically don't prefer electric filing during gel removal, and Kam took note and made sure to go very gently and used manual filing technique to remove the rest of the gel. Great location, good atmosphere. Kam was attentive to the details for the nail art I requested, and I truly felt like it was a nice collaboration and result. They took time to treat them right and very professional advice. Super clean and calm atmosphere/ relaxing vibe. Staff speak great English. Made comfortable. Also, forgot my Apple Watch and they contacted me to let me know. Note: they don't have as many services as the other branch (for example no facials). But lots of regulars came in while I was there. She was so fast and sharp and my nails looked just perfect. It was quite challenging cause my nails were pretty short. To make an appointment online was also smooth and easy, Katerina confirmed it the same day. I came at my scheduled time and they took me right away with no delays. The only thing that disappointed me was used nail buffer which was also about to fall apart. I always thought it must be used only ones and then thrown away or given to the client.

I then proceeded to book a wax, but when asked if I wanted bikini or Brazilian, I said I would need to talk to my therapist. I rushed to get there on time despite it being a bit hard to find (it's inside a hotel) and was greeted by a friendly front desk. They took me downstairs and told me to have a seat. I sat in a nail care room watching an older woman finishing up her manicure, lots of chit chat in Portuguese, for the next 10 minutes. Then after 5 more minutes, the lady who was doing the nails walked over to greet me and take me into the room. She didn't speak any English, which was going to make this challenging, but I was still game! We went inside, I explained as much as I could with simple words and hang gestures. She then started the waxing. It was excruciating (more than usual) and not very quick at all. At one point the wax wouldn't come off completely so she just rubbed it in with lots of pressure and friction, creating a kind of blood-blister-bruise. When I gestured toward it she said, "it go away tomorrow." Whenever I would say it hurt, she would say "let it go"... halfway through the wax I had really lost trust and was become more nervous. She said sorry a few times but a few times she literally just laughed at my pain and said, "let it go". It was bad. If you're a native Portuguese speaker perhaps you could have demanded a better experience for yourself, but in the case of a foreigner-vacationer-English speaker, please avoid this place. It's been 5 days now and the blister has turned into a dark discolored scabby area...

Durante a aplicação, a funcionária ficou a manipular o meu cabelo molhado durante bastante tempo, o que me deixou desconfortável. Saí do salão preocupada com a possibilidade de terem colocado algum agente alisante na máscara sem me informarem -- algo que sei que alguns salões fazem para facilitar a escova. Logo depois de sair, comentei com a minha sobrinha que o meu couro cabeludo estava a coçar. A comichão continua até hoje e sinto que o meu cabelo está a cair mais do que o normal. Isto preocupa-me muito, especialmente porque já tive uma experiência parecida no passado com um tratamento de queratina que me causou uma queimadura química e queda permanente de cabelo. Liguei para o salão e falei com o Yohann, o proprietário. Ele negou que qualquer produto do tipo tenha sido usado e prometeu enviar-me a lista de ingredientes aplicados no meu cabelo -- mas nunca recebi nada. Para piorar, o corte que recebi do Renato foi apressado e mal feito. Fiquei com fios soltos e desiguais por todo o cabelo. Pelo preço que paguei, o serviço foi muito abaixo das expectativas -- tanto em qualidade como em profissionalismo. The haircut was fine in the end but the overall customer experience was poor and I'll opt for a hair salon that takes more time with their patrons.
