There's a drum set in every studio which makes it quite easy for the band to get together, even for a 2 hour jam after work. We find it's easily accessible by public transport (20 seconds away from park metro station) and by car. A 10 min walk from the Sherbrooke metro stop, this location was easy to find. A cash only bar and a lounging area with no ATM on site or close by . The theatre itself was small and intimate-I loved it because it connected the artist to the crowd of 50+ people. The comedian, Diane Smith, described it as having a medieval feel theatre where a lion could come out to battle till death. Haha so true because of its rich history and character! Seats are comfy but a bit stuffy, there's barely any wiggle room between rows so once you sit down don't think you can get up without bothering everyone else. I've seen many movies and shows here and I've always been satisfied. The balcony area is not as fun as the floor seats. I am surprised they allow people to drink in the theatre itself, I cringe when I hear or see people spill their drinks. The maintenance it must take to keep it looking spotless every time must be insane. I really encourage you to see something here. It's worth the trip but be mindful of your drink! Also please do not sneak food in, unless it's something that won't make a mess.

Steve's new store on Sainte-Catherine is a must for every musician in Montreal area, they don't…read morehave any choice as Palais des congrès ( Congress house) ask them to moved as they are rule by government it was move or die choice. so after being on sainte-Antoine street (old Montreal) since 1965 ! They moved to downtown last summer. Their store is in a nice spot in front of bar Foufounes Électriques on main street ( Sainte-Catherine) and inside they have less space but everything is nicely placed (unlike the old store were everything was place in a spot wherever they can put it. And they have a nice stage were they want to put live artist and it should be really interesting new idea in future. After the owner died (Steve Kirkland RIP), his son want to keep it going. I will see if they can survive in this new era were most peoples buy used in Canada as most new music gear is overprice cause of USA currency over CND dollar. But this is the the ultimate music store in Montreal, the only thing is that they don't do exchange (old guitar for an new one) unlike lots of stores in the province, so maybe it can be a new thing that can make them earn more profits if they change it. When i was younger salesmen were rude, but now they are super friendly ( maybe it's because older peoples have more money than younger ones but i think that they should take care more of their customers. But now they're friendly and competent. This place was the place were any Montreal musicians went to buy gears. Il ont un peu moins de place mais il y a une petite scène ou ils vont invités des bands à faire de petites prestations, ce qui devrait être très intéressant !
