Passionate is the best word to describe Sammy. He is SO incredibly passionate about his work and that energy completely translates into his final product which is exactly what we were looking for when we picked a DJ for our wedding. From the first meeting we clicked right away, which is not a surprise considering Sammy is one of the kindest and most easy going vendors we'd come across. After a little chat about what each of our music tastes were as well as what we envisioned for our wedding day, it was clear that this was a match made in heaven. The music at a wedding can make or break your night, and it was important for us to make sure that all of our guests were having the best time and that the dance floor was never empty. His response times are some of the quickest we've seen from vendors and he was super professional throughout the whole process. He even created a mix for the father daughter dance even though we only asked him a week before the wedding. From the ceremony prelude, through the cocktail hour and dinner - the music was perfection, but once the dancing began that was really when the party got started. We had people of all ages at our wedding and our 85+ year old grandparents were busting a move on the dance floor. THAT is how good Sammy is. We had so much fun dancing up a storm with our guests, singing along to all the classics songs, and breaking out into dance circles. It got to the point where people left the dance floor intending to get another drink, and ended up running back because it was just hit after hit after hit and such a great variety of music. It was also fun to look over and see him having such a great time mixing away, laughing with our guests, and even getting on the microphone to pump everybody up here and there. Sammy absolutely crushed the playlist that he put together for our wedding and we could not be more thankful that we were able to have someone who is so passionate at what he does be there with us on the most important day of our lives. We are hoping that our paths cross again soon because we would love to have him DJ another one of our events. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Sam for our wedding in November 2018. From our first interaction with him, we felt that we were in very good and experienced hands for the wedding. Sam provided such great service in the lead-up to the wedding - he was very prompt, responsive, and professional in his communications (i.e., he'd respond to us within 24 hours) and he always made himself available to chat whenever we wanted to discuss any questions over the phone. He was also very flexible, organized, and proactive in his approach in working with you. We provided our schedule of what the day would look like and what songs we liked, and he was able to take that and know what to play based on our music tastes and preferences. During the wedding reception, the music transitions were so smooth and seamless for the program. In the evening, he helped keep the dance floor packed and everyone had a great time - our guests still rave about how fun the set was! What I liked was that he accommodated to our guests of all ages - we had people young and old on the dance floor. We did not use him as an MC, but he was happy to help us out in a few instances where our MC would not have been available since they were part of the wedding party (e.g. for announcing the entrance of the wedding party). He was also very accommodating as I had wanted to surprise my husband with a traditional Filipino dance, so I asked him to add a song to his playlist and to play it at a certain point during the program, all the while keeping it a secret. We had DJ Sammy for our wedding and he was absolutely fantastic! Meeting up with him felt like meeting an old friend. He's super friendly, answered all of our questions, and was very excited to work with us. Sammy sent us a form to fill in our favourite genres, artists, songs and also what specific music was to be played at a certain time. He worked with our planner and MC in coordinating everything. We also realized a bit late that we probably needed a mic/speaker system for our ceremony. We searched around for options but thought maybe Sammy had a solution. We emailed him and he quickly replied that he had a system that we could rent from him. On our wedding day, Sammy came early to set up the mic and speaker system for the ceremony. After the ceremony he took down the system and went to the reception location to set up his DJ booth. He was familiar with the location so everything went smoothly. When the dance floor opened up and music started, the party was on and Sammy had everyone dancing. The music he picked was great and had people of all ages on the dance floor, even my dad whom I've never seen dance before! Sammy was even shooting photos throughout the reception and dance portions. We got some awesome candid photos of the night and even some videos to add to our memories of that night. After the wedding, we got several compliments from our guests about Sammy and the music and dance portion of the night. Everyone had a lot of fun. Where do I start? Sammy was such a nice guy, the moment we talked to him, we immediately know that he'll be our DJ for the wedding. Sammy was very accommodating and professional. I was so busy in the morning of the wedding, so I didn't get the chance to say hi. By the time I did, he already talked to my officiant and MC about how they can use his mic and speakers. All the music queued exactly the right timing and made those moments so beautifully emotional. We talked about cutting the music by using hugs. But when my wife and I had our first dance, we were already hugging. But somehow Sammy was able to read our body language and cut the music when we wanted. I'm not saying this will work for you, but I just thought it's funny Sammy read our mind at that moment! For the dance floor, I'd recommend give Sammy as many songs as possible. We only gave about 20, which might be little low. With that said, Sammy and our guests murdered the dance floor. For the first hour, we had young and old people jumping in and out of the dance floor. We also had Hindi and Korean music on top of western music. I guess what I'm trying to say is, give Sammy options so he knows what to play as he reads the room. I will be sending Sammy some of our wedding dancing videos, maybe you can ask him for the samples. But in terms of writing it, we love Sammy, highly recommended. read more

We had the absolute pleasure of having Sammy as our DJ and MC for our wedding this December. From the moment we heard his voice, we knew he was the right person for the job! Sammy made the planning process so much easier. He was very responsive, helpful and organized in the weeks leading up to the wedding. He was able to get a good sense of our music taste and made sure that all of our music wishes came true! (He even played our favourite Croatian songs!) We loved how he was able to fade our first dances to the perfect length. He was even able to accommodate a live performance from one of our guests. Throughout the night, Sammy was quick witted, adaptable and able to keep a crowd of 250 engaged. Our dance floor was packed, the lighting was perfect, and, most importantly, everyone had fun! DJ Sam is AMAZING! I first met him at a small private event and I loved his music and just his friendly vibe as well. So when I was looking for a DJ for my husbands 50th I immediately contacted him. I wasn't able to meet up with him in person before the event so we did all our communication via email. He always responded quickly, and he understood the music I wanted and didn't want too. He had everything set up at the venue perfectly and as I had wanted. He also worked with some friends who had a special song they wanted to sing and helped them with the music, mic, and to pull it off without a hitch. Music set the tone for the whole night and DJ Sam hit it out of the park! Everyone had a fantastic time, the dancing never stopped, and I'm still hearing even 2 months later from friends how great the music and the DJ was. The music he chose couldn't have been more perfect. We had one of the most memorable and fun nights ever and without question DJ Sam had a big part in that. My wife and I recently got married on May 6th, 2023, and DJ Sam was our DJ at our wedding! We got seriously lucky with all of our Vendor choices, and even amongst the great people we worked with, Sam was an absolute standout. As you'll probably see in other reviews, one of the first things you'll notice about Sam is his stellar personality. The man radiates kindness, and is exceptionally professional. He truly cares about you as his client and you can tell that he genuinely wants you have the best possible experience he can provide. He really outlined the entire process for us and made working with him a breeze, and better yet, left us with huge smiles and excitement with every interaction we had with him prior to the wedding. On the day of, we couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Every sound piece for every step of our wedding went off perfectly, and Sam has so good he even got the most introverted of our friends out on the dance floor out with us. We had such an incredible day and it absolutely would not have been the same without Sam, we're so grateful to have found him and can recommend with absolute confidence that he is the perfect choice as a DJ for any need. We initially heard about and met Sammy through our friends who had also used him as their DJ at their weddings. They highly recommended him and I can say that without a doubt I would as well. He is extremely professional, friendly and easy to communicate with. From personally going through playlists with us to coordinating the equipment setup directly with the audio/visual staff at our venue, Sammy was proactive and made every effort to ensure things would be as worry-free for us as possible. I wanted to point this out in particular because there were some initial audio issues with the speaker system at our venue, and Sammy worked out a great solution with the audio/visual staff. He did not leave us hanging and worked to figure out alternatives for us. During our ceremony and reception Sammy kept track of all of our requests, including specific songs that had to be played at specific times, and executed perfectly. After the reception and the dance floor opened up, he read the crowd well and played songs that everyone enjoyed. He created a fun atmosphere that lasted the entire night. Sammy was a fantastic DJ! He was such a pleasure to work with leading up the wedding; super responsive, professional, and a ton of fun, it was like catching up with an old friend. Covid threw a huge wrench in our plans and we postponed by a year to September 2021. Sammy was really supportive throughout and we felt reassured that despite the restrictions on dancing, we would still have a lot of fun. Boy, he did not disappoint! We could not have had a more lovely ceremony, and the reception was a ton of fun. Sammy really set the tone for the entire night. Because we couldn't do dancing, we planned a few other activities like a spinning prize wheel and a few rounds of trivia (including a musical round which Sammy absolutely rocked). We're still in awe of his amazing work making the night so fun throughout. We were allowed to have a first dance, along with a father-daughter and mother-son dance. He did a lovely edit on the father-daughter song; just one detail in dozens of how he took care of us that night. The next day he sent us a big long heartfelt email along with some photos that he had snapped at the ceremony as a surprise keepsake. This is a DJ who knows how to read the room and vibe. Our wedding reception had a mix of people of a variety of ages and ethnicities just getting out of lockdown and ready to party. Sammy was accommodating to help with incorporating the culturally significant songs into the the whole event whether it was for just dancing or for a specific tradition. Throughout the cocktail hour and the reception, DJ SamFX was able to effortlessly "score" the perfect song for the various intro's and outro's between speeches and even an impromptu game by a guest. The dance floor was never bare! It's as if Sammy knew exactly what to queue to get the crowd continuously hyped. We had provided a thorough list of our "must play" songs and DJ SamFX knew exactly the kind of music that we needed without having to go through the full list. DJ SamFX was very professional to work with. He is quick to respond and notes that he is available for any concerns and likes to talk through your vision with him and make sure you are in alignment. We've never heard DJ Sammy play before, but there was something about him when we first met that made us know right away that we were in good hands for our wedding. Sammy was so easy to talk and personable. We always felt comfortable whenever we would meet and it was as if we were just talking to a good friend of ours! We sent him a list of songs of what we wanted to hear and not hear + the general theme/mood of our wedding and he ticked off all the boxes and added his own little spin. What made us even happier was that he found rare remixes of songs we requested and played them during our after party... we were FLOORED!!! So many of our guests gave their positive feedback to us even after the wedding and said that he was a great DJ - no exaggeration there. Our wedding planner had recommended him initially (she said he was the best!!). From the first time we met, Sammy was lovely - professional, kind, available, and fun! Sammy understood the vision we wanted for our wedding day and executed it with ease. We provided an array of our favorite songs (which had almost no consistency of genre lol) and he somehow created MAGIC. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour - dinner, to dancing, ever moment was PERFECT. The dance floor absolutely went off ALL night long, everyone was dancing regardless of age and music preference! We did send our favorite songs, but we ended up telling Sammy to "go with what you feel" and I am so glad that we did, because he included our favorites while also ensuring the vibes were flawless. DJ'ed our wedding and was AWESOME! My (now husband) and I first met him as the DJ for my sister's wedding. He was fantastic there and we got to chat and get to know him. It was a no brainer we'd have him at our wedding. From there on he was professional and fun! When the day of the wedding came, he went out of his way to get there early so everything we needed extra help for was set up correctly, he even did a favour to my sister and went out last min to grab an extra microphone at her request - no questions asked and no hassle. Once our guests hit the dance floor, it was a solid party from beginning to the very last song of the night! Not only was he again very professional, he is just an all around fantastic guy to work with and fun! We could not have been happier with our experience with DJ Samfx. From the very beginning he was very helpful and professional. You could tell right away he was very experienced. On our wedding day, he played the music we have initially requested right on point plus and he read the crowd perfectly and played the perfect playlist of songs to get the party going. He was also great dealing with the young kids, and the "mildly" intoxicated adults when it came to requests. When there was audio/visual problems with the venues projector he was able to quickly resolve the issue as well. And on top of all of that he even took some amazing pictures and video of our perfect day. DJ Sam was the best! My husband attended a wedding that he played at about 5 years ago and remembered him for our wedding because Sam made such a lasting impression. During first meeting, we were able to connect with him right away. Sam is very flexible and open to catering to what's best for the couple. Many people around us were saying that DJs didn't matter too much for weddings, but clearly they haven't met Sam yet. We really appreciated how he'd follow up our many requests to make sure he got everything right.He was easily able to see the direction I wanted the night to go in terms of music genres. Sammy was the DJ at our wedding on September 22, 2018. He was awesome and we highly recommend him!!! He's excellent in terms of communication and professionalism. He always responded to our queries and any concerns in a timely fashion. He's very dependable and gave us such a relief for being the back-up MC when one of them decided to back-out last minute; such a lifesaver! We never had to worry about anything as he has all the equipment required including uplights that enhanced the ambiance. DJ Sammy was recommended by our wedding planner and we are so glad he was! We shared a ton of laughs in the planning process, and he was very easy to work with, and flexible when our wedding was delayed due to Covid. He was able to adapt on the fly when the weather changed and he had to move his set-up around to accommodate our venue. He brought sophisticated equipment, including a wireless Bluetooth satellite speaker for dancing outside. We were impressed. He is very versatile with music genres. Our wedding guests listen to all styles and he was able to play every request - which made him very popular. We loved Sammy so much - absolutely amazing! Completely willing to help me out the week before my wedding when I was totally overwhelmed and couldn't fill out the form. He just called me and we walked through it together. Also we were completely vague in our instructions. I think we said we are "painfully millennial" and that neither of us are particularly dancers. We thought that our guests weren't going to dance, but Sammy made sure the dance floor was going all the way until midnight!
