He was worth every penny of his fee. He spoke with the couple twice before their event and created a playlist that featured their choices, but mixed to maximize the vibe of the evening. The music did not stop once for three hours and thus the dance floor was not ever empty. In fact, if the dance floor ever started to look even slightly less populated Glenn transitioned to a new song and kept the place hopping. I was surprised how late many of the guests stayed, but they kept saying the music kept them there. On top of the great music, Glenn was a great emcee and coordinator of the bridal party entrance and once the bridal party left played some old classics so us old folks could dance while we cleaned. 1st of all, they dropped the ball. They told me that my photographer would contact me 45 days…read morebefore my wedding and I had to call them 30 days before my wedding. The gentleman that answered the phone said that he would just "take the job" The photographer was very friendly and and seemed to understand what I was asking for. I was told that I would get a photographer for 8 hours, 800 photos all touched. I received over 1300 photos and only 90 of them were edited. There are hundreds of pictures of my back, my guests back with my arms wrapped around them. He took very few photos of our faces and did not capture very many moments that we could print and use. He did not give anybody any direction and most of the time I didn't even know where he was. During the ceremony he stood in the back of the church. He captured a picture of the entire room and we are very very small and did not capture our faces very well. There are many pictures that would have been fabulous if they weren't shadowed and the lighting was not adjusted by his camera, or if he simply told people to look at him so he could snap the picture. He also did not use the zoom at all. When capturing pictures of our guests and our wedding party, they are making silly faces, not smiling and posed well. There was a few very specific pictures I asked for and he did not execute that very well. I am very disappointed at $1600 I cannot rephotograph my day. At the end of the day I have a flash drive and alot of work to do in order to create a wedding album.

They have you fill out a questionnaire with preferences, scheduling, etc. for your event. Then our DJ, Roger, called me the week-of to talk about what vibe and music I was looking for. This gave me a lot of false hope about how the night would go. The introductions and toasts went fine, but I wasn't expecting any hiccups (very simple stuff). We did provide a meal for him, but he took too long eating because when we wanted to start the video he wasn't ready. The biggest issue was the music he played throughout the evening. I had provided a very extensive list of songs and artists I like so he could really get the feel for the types of music I wanted him to play. We even talked about it beforehand. But he was way off for the whole night...at one point I saw two of my bridesmaids at his booth making a list of songs for him to play because no one was dancing and people weren't liking the music. I was pretty annoyed, because I had specifically taken the time to write out the kind of music I wanted. I asked for specific songs also, and I'm pretty sure I didn't hear ANY of them. I asked for a special announcement to surprise my new husband, and again didn't hear that either. I felt like my bridesmaids did his job. I also feel like I wasted precious pre-wedding time making a whole list of songs and artists to play, which wasn't even used. I have given very few one-star reviews, but the DJ was the one major flaw in an otherwise amazing reception experience.

Bandstand Music Omaha: Adds More Stress to Important Events…read more Bandstand Music was hired to provide the music equipment and DJ for our wedding reception. Prior to the event, our interactions with the group were very positive. Bandstand staff met with us several times, was attentive and intelligent about music, and seemed very capable. The night of the reception however, we were shocked at their lack of professionalism. The DJ showed up to the event almost an hour and a half late. Thinking the reception would have no music, the groom was forced to call Bandstand repeatedly as he was preparing to walk down the aisle. When the DJ did arrive he was in dirty, sweat stained clothing that he explained away puzzlingly by saying he had "just come from the farm." After the ceremony ended, as the family was taking a few moments together to take photos, he kept interrupting to ask the newly married bride and groom questions, interrupting a sweet family moment with small details that should have been asked prior to the wedding day (we had been told we would receive a confirmation phone call from Bandstand prior to the event and never did). We had established a reception order and a playlist beforehand with Bandstand, yet the DJ seemed confused about helping the reception move forward, and actually complicated the process of giving toasts and cutting the cake. Throughout the reception, there were long periods where he would disappear, only to be found later by the event planner in the kitchen having a cigarette or eating leftover wedding food. During one of his absences, some wedding guests tried to change the song themselves, but ended up pressing a wrong button and shutting the music off entirely. Rather than coming in to see what the problem was, the DJ remained gone for several minutes and other wedding guests had to climb into the DJ booth to figure out how to get the music back on, which they did. The DJ from Bandstand was the only real source of anxiety for our family in an otherwise flawless night. It is possible that their other DJs would have been better or more professional, but I would not recommend this group to anyone throwing a wedding because of the chance of hiring one of their inexperienced ones. In hindsight, I wish we would have saved the money, simply rented speakers from a rental company, and had a friend in charge of an ipod.

They have all of the speakers and equipment already set up and it was one less thing for us to worry about. We first spoke with Jesse, who I believe kind of runs the company and went over a list of what we wanted. They have multiple DJs as part of this company and we were paired with Laci. I have to say it was a spectacular experience! She played the songs from the list of guest requests we had gotten when we asked for RSVPs, she was open to day of requests, and really knew how to keep people coming back to the dance floor. She payed enough attention to notice what types of songs kept people entertained and really made everything flow perfectly! She also played a variety (even some polka for my Czech family.) We got a lot of compliments from guests about the DJ and we could not be happier. The wedding party also really enjoyed that she was friendly, helpful, and funny. I would absolutely recommend this company (and especially Laci) for any event!
