Mat and I got married 6 months ago in September 2017, and from the moment we found her beautiful website & answered her thoughtful introduction questionare, we knew we wanted her to capture the best day of our lives. In the year leading up to our day, I followed her gorgeous Instagram and Facebook accounts, (showcasing her effervescent, light and whimsical art photography style,) and loved how she accompanied each stunning picture with a thoughtful and ernest personalized caption. I could tell she really cared about each individual couple she worked for, and poured her whole heart into her craft. Her process leading up to the day was very impressive. I unexpectedly received a gorgeous catalog in the mail complete with a large collection of her previous work, also including a thorough list of her own personalized tips for us. (And a sweet, personal mini bio about herself and her family.) I was also emailed a questionnaire to complete about what we expected of her on our day. The payment, contract, and email process was extremely professional and her responses were always very prompt. I would usually receive a response within hours. On our day, she showed up way earlier, and left way later than her scheduled times. She was a welcome and comfortable presence especially (and importantly) during our intimate romantic pictures, and gently guided us when we needed it. She also gave us space when we were swept up in the momentum of the day, and we seemed to forget she was there at times, only to be pleasantly surprised with incredible candid shots of those same moments. We had a very small wedding at a winery with only 35 guests, so we only hired Kayla, without a second photographer. And we can't believe how much she captured. She honoured all of our special requests and did a fabulous job. To say that we absolutely love every single picture she took would be an understatement. Her professionalism continued after the wedding. We only had to wait a few weeks for a handful of the beautifully edited pictures. I wasn't aware how long we would be waiting, (we wanted to announce our wedding on social media with one of the pictures) and when I emailed Kayla, she responded straight away assuring me that the wait would be worth it. And it was! We had access to the preview in our own personalized online album soon after, and the whole album arrived a few days after that. We still have access to this day. We have since ordered a few prints straight from our album site (the online order process is very user friendly) and the prints have all come very quickly, and have been very good quality. We are planning on ordering an album off of the site soon. Kayla is worth every single penny. She blows professionalism, efficiency, and artistic talent out of the water and has a very long career ahead of her. They've got limits on how many people can join the Lane swim/Aquafit and you need to register online. Registration opens a week ahead so you'll want to try to register several days prior to secure your spot. If you need to cancel, you have to call the Sportsplex and they'll do it for you (there isn't a way to cancel online). The change rooms and restrooms are open but the showers and lockers are not. You pick up a small bin and put your things in there and place them around the pool deck area. You'll also need to wear your mask to/from the pool area (but not in the pool ;-) Lots of parking in the front of the building.

Quality of food and service is most always on point. The views and spa experience are unmatched from any other 'Mill' sister restaurants. For example - On one of our dinners here, the waiter brought a complimentary Elora Mill teddy bear to give my baby niece since it was her first visit AND an Elora mill chocolate bar since we were such a big fan of their hot chocolate. I also really appreciate how much they value their local clientele and fellow hospitality industry workers - they regularly have promotions on their website with deals/discounts during certain times of the year. At least 2 or 3 staff members wished me a happy birthday ( not just the main waiter). Small things like that help reinforce the importance of hospitality in service settings. We were seated at the lower solarium right at the edge of the gorge with amazing views of the gorge and cascading water. We had brunch and the food was just as amazing as the view. We were attending a wedding at the Elora mill and did not realize there were two different hotel buildings as part of this hotel so keep this in mind when booking a room. The Bondy suite room's parking is off site. This means in the winter you will need to drop off your bag and then park your car or drag your luggage across the street. The Ayrshire house is an old century home - very aesthetic but creeky stairs (you may wish to remove your heels to not disturb other guests). The amenities of the hotel were nice - free shower gel, soap, biscuits, tea, and Nespresso pods. They had a tv in the room and wifi. Additionally the curtains are double layered for a better sleep. Unfortunately there was an incident with the fire alarm being faulty in the building and waking everyone up three times over the night. The hotel owner kept touch with everyone via text and we did not need to go out in the cold as there wasn't actually a fire but it did ruin our stay. The next morning we spoke with the staff, they apologized profusely and comped the night's stay. Overall I think it was have been a five star experience has the fire alarm not be faulty so I'm giving this accommodation four stars due to the outstanding service from the owner of the hotel.

Exposed electrical outlet where…read morethe heater was plugged in which is a code violation, top of heater was covered in dust and hair, inside the microwave was discusting with brown substance in the corners, walls were banged up and patched with polyfill, sheets were scratchy and well worn, shoe mat was covered in dried up salt, bathroom door had an unidentified substance on it, door jamb in bathroom was filthy, a bathroom light was burnt out, top of wall in bathroom was cracking, bathroom taps were covered in scale and corroding, toilet tank cover had a large sharp chip in it, toilet seat at the bowl was covered in pink bacteria growth, bathtub was stained yellow, shower head was clogged with scale so spray was all over the place and the towel rack in bathroom fell off the wall when i grabbed a towel. Our toilet became blocked so i asked for a plunger and it was handed to me with dried toilet paper all over it. We travelled 2 hours to enjoy a night out with friends and this was the most unpleasant end to what could have been a perfect night. I wish I read the reviews before booking as it sounds like this is an ongoing problem. I wish I could figure out how to post the pictures I took but trust me, they are not pretty...
