Cam shared helpful insights based on his past experiences while being incredibly accommodating. Perhaps most importantly, if we asked for something that may have slightly conflicted with his recommendation (e.g. we did not want uplighting) he was not judgmental and totally went with the flow. He even managed to get us a disco ball, per our special request! The result was IMO the best and most unique wedding dance party we could have asked for. Isthmus DJs was the easiest vendor to work with when my husband and I were planning our wedding. Our DJ Tien was a tremendous help throughout the entire process, from providing song check lists during the planning stages, to setting up back lighting for our wedding reception, to the music that was played throughout the night. I have been to many weddings, and there were more people on the dance floor the entire evening than I have EVER seen before. The music selection was an amazing mix of 90s music mixed with today's pop music. We also requested some ethnic music (Bollywood/Hindi and Hmong/Thai music), and Tien was able to accommodate all our requests. Tien played such awesome music that our wedding guests didn't want to leave the party! The uplighting also created the perfect ambience that we were hoping for, and the venue turned out even better than we had imagined. Tien and his team were friendly and professional, and so kind to take song requests from many of our guests. At the end of the night, they were able to quickly pack up and exit the building in time for closing. On another note, we misplaced a few items during the reception, and Tien contacted us early in the morning to let us know that he was in possession of some lost and found items. I would assue this is for him to put together a plan for the wedding. First he expressed he would be there 2 hours prior to the guests arriving.He was late. I had called him 2 times that day because the venue asked when he might come to set up and he listened to my VM but never called and then said traffic was his delay. That is fine but just call and when he came I said "Oh good your here" and he jumped back at me and snarled saying "How dare I question.we had a contract and he has never broke one." He did not play my daughters requested walk down the isle song. so she had no music to walk down too. 2 people from the wedding party went to question this to which his response was he had no knowledge of this. We also had requested to play a few songs for her dad who passed away right before her wedding and make a toast to her very special dad and not only did he not do this or use the mic much at all during the whole wedding he also took it upon his self to decide that one of those songs was not appropriate for a wedding. Who is paying who? He was rude to me (mother of the bride) rude to guests and rude to the venue owners. At this point I decided to address him with all the issues the next day per email where again he was rude and condescending saying that all those requests that were made were in fact not in the contract but only on the wedding planner but never once said oh well we need to add these items on the contract. Why would you have a planner asking what the brides needs and wants are if your NOT going to provide those services. I was asking for a partial refund because he did not provide what he promised. Look at his bio he says "no one will provide a party like I can." Far from true. The worst part was he said I should have brought this to his attention at the wedding which by his own words he said a few people asked him about her wedding walk the isle song so there another lie. He could have just played it and charged me extra. My daughter had no music wedding walk down and she thought this is what requesting music on HIS wedding planner/DJ form. If the sheet isnt his contract and its pointless and was never looked at then why have the bride fill our her requests? Funny he didnt see her walk down the isle or the special announcements yet he did play some songs on the wedding planner form. Same form. Please if looking for a DJ/Photo booth combo keep looking. Our other professionals hired for the wedding; the venue, photographers and bartenders even made comments. I mean if you cant even announce the bride and groom for their first dance. Really? I am sure he will comment back in defense of this services but he did not provide what we paid for and thought would be. Save yourself some money and keep looking.
