I agree with the posting below and would not recommend this office to anyone. I called to make an…read moreappointment with Dr. Theodorakis not long ago. The secretary made an appointment for me when the doctor was out of town. Not only that, but when I arrived for the intended appointment, the secretary on-duty declared that it was I who was mistaken, and I had show up on the wrong day and my appointment had to be cancelled because of my absence. After some explaining, in which I proved her claim had to be impossible, and I had spoken to two different staff members, I was finally believed and rescheduled for a time when the doctor would actually be there. When I had my visit, which was just a consultation for some thyroid irregularity, I was abruptly told that I needed overnight surgery to remove my thyroid in the hospital. Not only that, but I needed it right away--that week. Prior to this visit, I had been taking tests for the same problem for a number of months, and the situation had been described to me by every other doctor I saw as something to investigate, but not worry about immediately. I was extremely upset leaving the office. Not only that, but Dr. Theodorakis offered absolutely no explanation for what was wrong with me, only that I must have the surgery immediately. In addition, unless you speak Greek, Dr. Theodorakis is very hard to understand in the first place. I was also rather disturbed when asking the nurse about content of my test results: She described the data as "stuff." She didn't even know the terminology to use. I petitioned for a second opinion with my HMO, was granted one, and went for a second consultation with a wonderful ENT. He went over all my results with me and actually explained what they meant. He informed me that I was still missing a test that would prove whether the situation needed attention, and he told me that under no circumstance did I need to go under the knife that day--or ever, depending on future tests. He made it very clear that whatever happened was MY CHOICE (Something that Theodorakis never did at all). The second ENT even apologized for my experience in Theodorakis's office.

I was brought into examination promptly and then he explained all the details of my problem to me. I was happy to know I could be treated quickly and that I could schedule my appointment right then and know what needed to be done. I knew what I was up against, but Dr. Theodorakis reassured me it would be fine and his reassurance was very effective. I went in a few days later and got my procedure. It went flawlessly! Afterwards, Dr. Theodorakis explained what had been done and informed me of what I needed to do to fully recover. I followed his advice and was feeling better after a week. So glad I was referred to him, best decision I could have made. Thanks, Dr. Theodorakis!

Instead of telling me that I could get a diagnosis and then come for a consultation, the person who answered the phone just shortly and almost rudely said "our doctors don't diagnose. Nicest doctor and most comfortable experience I've ever had at a doctor. I've been putting off…read moregoing to the doctor for 6 years because of anxiety. This is the only time I can remember feeling like the doctor wasn't somehow antagonistic or condescending. They also seemed to place a pretty high priorty on mental health, which is really vital for me personally. The app is also quite nice. Like it shows all your vitals and history and stuff. I'm too anxious to take advantage of the 24/7 chat thing, but that's an awesome feature for times when you just need to know what to do. It's hard to believe that the one star review guy below is being honest, because at my baseline after 6 years of not being at the doctor, they didn't spring a bunch of random issues on me to extort money. In fact, the one plan we made was for me to work on my sleep patterns and exercise, which requires no money. Seriously felt like the first time I wasn't being pushed towards spending more. There's also the fact that their monthly plan generally means no extra costs, which means they have no incentive to push anything on you cause it won't get them any extra money. On that note, the one downside is the price. It's $150 a month. If you have high income, I think it's a no brainer. If you have to go to the doctor frequently, like if you have many medical concerns or are a senior or whatever, then it's also pretty good and could end up saving you money. Another possible use would be if you can pick a much cheaper insurance plan that just costs covers hospital visits and other externals, and then let this be your complete primary care, you might save money there too. For anyone else, it's probably not worth it honestly, no matter how cool and comfortable it is.
