I hired Tomahawk Turf Landscape for backyard grading, a retaining wall, and drainage work. The yard…read morelooked good when the work was finished, but during heavy rain, water backed up and flooded the patio. After months of trying to get the drainage issue resolved, further inspections found that the downspouts and foundation drain had been connected to an outlet through the retaining wall. I am now having another contractor separate those lines and correct the drainage. What disappointed me most was the response after the problem appeared. Andrew did not resolve the underlying issue and said the warranty was void because debris had been removed from a drain catch basin. I do not consider that a reasonable response to a drainage system that backed up during rain. I had recommended Tomahawk Turf to neighbors after the initial installation. I regret those recommendations. I cannot recommend Tomahawk Turf to anyone who expects dependable drainage work and support after installation.

I had absolutely no functional back yard. About one foot off the small back porch it dropped…read moresharply into a dip, and then up a steep hill that was completely covered in pine saplings and weeds. Any solution had to consider erosion control. I met with several landscapers and settled on Willow Tree Landscaping. Tammy, the owner, and her husband met with me several times to brainstorm solutions that would make me happy and make this feel like my home. They listened to me, asked questions of me, and answered my questions. Tammy drew out several potential designs, and Kevin brought out different samples of decking materials. Tammy's proposal and design were developed in a way that would allow me to control cost by selecting individual sections to be done if I chose not to do it all. Throughout the entire process they responded to any questions and concerns almost immediately. The result is a masterpiece of beauty and elegance that combines with erosion control to give me a back yard I will enjoy for years to come. While a true work of art, the rock walls are backed up by a solid wall of cinder block that is there to stay. Tammy and Kevin continue to provide counseling and guidance to me to ensure my plants are well established as I move forward. I found the cost to be very reasonable for the product I have.

We just finished a complete backyard renovation project with Caesar and the Down South Construction…read moreteam. We are SO thrilled with how our vision for the backyard came to life via their expertise. We were impressed upon Caesar's initial visit to provide us with an initial design. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his measurements and surveying of the slopes, areas we'd have to work around. The quote was itemized so we understood fully what the all in price was going towards, we had several quotes and this wasn't always the case. They even offered up design options for us which helped us visualize the end results before they started working. Caesar was very easy to communicate with, prompt in his replies and stayed present throughout the duration of the project to check on the work and our feedback. The team that worked in our backyard project was phenomenal. So hard working and so efficient. Everything was done with great attention to detail and if something popped up that required a shift in the plan, they brought solutions to us right away which we found helpful. We trusted their guidance. They also found a way to minimize the footprint that the bobcat machine had to go on our lawn which we were so pleased with to avoid any damage to our side yard. Overall, would highly recommend their services and we will be passing along their info to the other neighbors around us in Big Canoe! Thank you, Caesar and Team!

We did a significantly large project with Down South Construction and would definitely endorse them…read moreto do a project for you. They designed a plan for our backyard after listening to our concerns- drainage, patio needs, retaining wall, etc. and he designed a good plan for us. We had multiple meetings with Caesar (owner) to make sure we were all aligned on the project. Our project included a new paver patio, a redone multiple tier retaining wall, new sod, and plenty of new plants and hardscaping along with solutions for water flow across the yard. We also had some additional (previously unplanned) work on the front yard. They started when they said they would start and completed the job within the time frame estimated. This is unique in this world. We have had 3 significant (kitchen remodel, new porch/deck) projects done in the last 3 years and this is the only one that stayed within the time frame estimated. Caesar was also flexible with the add on work that we threw on him. I cannot imagine a better team that worked on this project for us. In additional to being very skilled and hardworking, they were pleasant, polite, respectful. They made the project look exactly like the drawings. I would 100% endorse Caesar and his team. I would use them again and again without hesitation.
