Their patterns and fabrics change with the seasons. They just had their one year anniversary and I hope they are around for many more! I bought a beautiful a wrap dress in a mustard yellow and blue floral print, reminiscent of the 70's that would rival any DVF pattern for 79€. An asymmetric thin cotton white/pink/mint floral top with ruffle sleeves for 33€ on their sale rack, a white lace long pouf sleeve crew neck for about 59€ and a black crewneck lightweight sweater with the complete back panel being constructed of a perforated scale pattern faux leather material for 46€. Great quality, unique one-of-a-kind designs for a steal! I told my BFF who was traveling there separately and she got some lovely pieces as well. Livia & Viviana are the store owners and lovely friendly small business owners. Will definitely be back to shop more!

We found light linen drapes and had them order some for us but we had to leave without getting in touch with them. Unfortunately, i did not get their name. As we walked past, I spied some of my favorite things: bunched up skirts, asymmetrical buttons, shrugs, shirtwaist dresses with puffy sleeves. Pure retro modern chic. I had to go in. My friend immediately spied my ultimate jacket and fit like a glove, it did! Diagonal buttons, short-waisted for a gal with a short torso... it's perfection. I purchased it immediately, but then I spied an avante garde Minnie Mouse number and immediately undressed (it's not that illicit) and again plunked down my credit card because this frock IS THAT PERFECT. But it's more than just having perfect pieces. Soon it became apparant that the kind lady helping me realize the perfect fit was none other than the designer herself! In fact, she was in the back surrounded by patterns, measuring tapes and various design ephemera and really, this doesn't ever happen for us in the states where even "designer" threads are mass produced in countries where children sit for 18 hours at a sewing machine. Hell, even for this, you pay a fortune (not me!). Shopping local seems like less of a trend... it's fully actualized here. I'll be truthful and say that I have 10 days left in Florence and I'm already thinking about the fabulous cross back shrug I noticed on the way out of the store (this is a common theme here. I kept finding items after paying up). Amo Romeo may be the retail ruin of me forever.

Most of this year I have spent at my home in Santa Barbara and also in South Africa. Everyone admires the Amo Romeo purchases. They are stylish and very comfortable. I love the quality of the fabrics and also that I do not see other people in "my clothes". Three of the dresses were made individually for me in the workroom at the boutique. Thank you- I am still enjoying my purchases.
