This rock shop is now my second* favorite in the entire state of Utah--and I have visited MANY rock shops. This one has better prices than the Gem Faire even, and that is saying a lot (since the Gem Faire prices are less than half that of most rock retailers). They have a decent selection and incredible customer service. I will definitely be returning to this fabulous rock shop the next time I am in St. George, and I look forward to visiting their sister shop sometime soon too! *My first favorite is still the rock shop in Moab but mostly because it's a bigger shop with even more rocks. Dixie Rocks beats every rock shop in the state for prices and customer service though! read more

Dixie Rocks and Fossils just opened on March 6th. They were barely open before they were required to close because of the pandemic. They are open again now for business. I am no rock or fossil expert but a great store that my kids spent over an hour browsing around. The owner was very welcoming and more than happy to answer any questions. The prices are much better than what I've seen elsewhere. Ultimately, the kids were able to freely touch and observe without getting the stink eye and we appreciated that. They also wanted to return the next day to spend more money! Come out and support this new shop! read more

My wife and I stopped here with our two children both under 3 years old. Our 2 year old daughter is very into "pretty rocks" as she calls them. We stopped to stretch our legs after driving for 3 hours from further north. They have a large selection of rocks, gems, and dinosaur bones. My daughter picked out a bag of polished stones and a geode. The clerk was super sweet and helped us take it outside and used a hammer to break it open upon our request. She really went above and beyond and my daughter has been talking about it non-stop for the last 3 hours of the drive. Definitely a great place to check out for "pretty rocks" and great customer service. read more

We first came across St. George 2 years ago. When we went there for the first time, we made sure that this was one of the places we went. As soon as we walked in, the customer service was great. We were the only ones in the store (which was good because it is a bit small with a lot of breakables everywhere). The guy there (I think he said he's the owner) came up to us and started right away with friendly conversation. We let him know that we're visiting and this is our first time, and he was great. He let us know about some great things going on around the town, and didn't pressure us one bit to buy anything, although we bought tons. We were able to walk around and clearly see everything displayed, nicely. We were able to see prices and not have to question how much anything was. I love crystals so this was like a dream come true for me. They have a variety of items, all for great prices. Ever since the first time, every time we go to St. George, we stop in here. We've met 3-4 different associates, and all of them are friendly and knowledgeable. read more

We happened to find this store during our brief stay in St. George. What a cool place to check out regional rock finds along with fossils! The owner was so helpful and accommodating even through we walked in ten minutes before store closing. He also gave us some good tips on where to go rock hounding nearby. I love this little shop!! Its family owned and I have had nothing but amazing experiences each time I come in! The prices are great and there is such a variety of crystals, fossils, and jewelry to choose from. They also give you free info cards for each crystal you purchase! I came in once to buy another chain for my crystal necklace because my other one had broken. They let me have the chain for free since the last one broke unexpectedly!! I love Dixie rock and Fossil. I am there once a week. I often get ingredients for tea and beads. This pass week I went in and saw they had a mortar and pestle set. I was thrilled.
