We were passing through town and heard about the sunken plane and bus and other items in the Sand Hollow Reservoir. We went to Dixie Divers to fill our tanks and get details. Behind the counter we met Amanda who was incredibly kind and informative. Right away she helped us fill our tanks. I got to meet her son, who was incredibly adorable and who's spirit made our visit absolutely delightful. Thank you, Amanda for the help and hospitality. I am meticulous about maintaining my scuba gear. I just paid $150 to have my regulator serviced. We came to Sand Hollow to dive and on my second dive, I set up my gear and noticed the tank was leaking. I figured it needed a new o-ring (2 of our other tanks did), so I took off my regulator to switch the o-rings out and noticed muddy junk all over the filter of my first stage (note the photos show all the junk in there after the scuba shop owner wiped the worst of the debris off with her finger). It was also all over the nozzle of the tank. I nearly ruined my dive. I was lucky a friend brought an extra tank I was able to borrow and my son sat the dive out so I used his regulator instead. When speaking to the shop owner about it, she refused to do anything about it. Now I have to pay someone another $150 to service it. She didn't even refund us the cost of the tank. I was beyond disappointed in her callousness and lack of responsibility. Also, the tank has no markings indicating inspections have been performed according to standards. I can only believe this shop is negligent. Our group had multiple complaints about the air tasting off or junk clinking around in the tanks. I would not trust this shop to treat you well as a customer, but most definitely, not with your life saving equipment. Bring your own tanks and gear!! read more

I went into this dive shop today with every intention of purchasing a mask for my upcoming dive vacation. Unfortunately, the lady brought her young child to work. His loud demanding temperament was completely distracting so I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. This post is to mainly inform whoever owns this business that you should work with your employees to ensure they have appropriate childcare during business hours. Didn't dive with Dixie Divers, per se, but I called them for info. and rented a tank at their satellite operation in Sand Hollow State Park, UT. I was in the area so I decided to do a dive in the park reservoir, which has a dive park where boats are not supposed to enter. To breakdown and explain the Dixie Divers in just four words unprofessional, unsafe, disorganized and dishonest. Out of my 20+ years of diving this was the worst group I've ever been around. The owners were rude, short, not helpful with anything excluding one of the Dive masters Christie who had loaned a spare first stage reg because mine sprung a leak. Also, excluding the boat captains (who were great) and all of the crew members (who were fantastic) There were 5 or 6 separate divers not part of the Dixie Diver group that made the trip enjoyable as well. Trip Breakdown and Personal Experience 1. My over $500 GoPro Dive Camera was stolen on the last day of the trip. After we docked and announced my camera was missing the only ones that stayed to check their bags were the divers not part of the Dixie Diver group and the 4 crew members of the Boat.. Every person in the Dixie Diver group just took-off right as we pulled up to the dock including the owners and didn't even seem to care about my camera being missing. 2.) The Dixie Divers never sent us any trip information specifying what was needed and what was to be provided. I mean nothing, no email no letter no voice mail, nothing ... So, as a result we were running around the better half of LA from dive shop to dive shop simply to rent 2 tanks (Which by the way we could have rented right there on the boat). How hard is an email with basic instructions of what to expect and bring on the trip? 3.) No documented itinerary whatsoever. Just what was on the www.diveboat.com website. However, w/o Internet out on the water what good does that do for you? 4.) As for my camera that was stolen I have my suspicion of who it was. I was asked by this person if my camera had been found well before it was even announced that it had been missing. This person never said one word to me the entire trip then sudden he cares about my camera? Strange. But how do explain this to the people in charge when it was their own son raising such suspicion. They lost any future business from our end as we will never book a single trip through their business "Dixie Divers" again. I'm in the process of filing a insurance claim and a police report against their business. Maybe now they will care a bit more. Be warned about this business.... read more

We have been using Dixie Divers for 4 years here in St George and have always been impressed with the service and attention given. Shelly (the owner) has personally certified my 3 children and son-in-law. She also helped us pick out equipment and plan trips. Shelly was especially attentive to my 10 yr old son who had to have follow-up for the Scuba certification because he was having trouble grasping the concepts. She took extra time in the water with him and was patient to make sure he understood even though she had to repeat the instructions several times for him. I just finished my "Open Water" certification with Dixie Divers and would like to let everyone know ASAP how wonderful they are!I am a 54 year old grandma who loves the water, but never really desired to scuba dive. I'm just too big of a chicken. When my husband's dive buddy was unable to vacation with us as planned, I decided to face my fears and certify for HIM. Shelly graciously agreed to accommodate me as our vacation was only 3 weeks away, She spent 8 hours with me the first day and patiently made sure I understood everything. Three minutes into the first pool dive, I came very close to calling it quits, but her reassurance kept me going. During my first lake dive, she literally held my hand so I would feel safe.
