It's adorable but quickly becomes unmanageable. The trails aren't clear, grown over or just washed away. And there is poison oak EVERYWHERE...everywhere but there were some pretty butterflies. Going to take a shower and hope for the best.

A great, quiet place to "get away from it all." Parking is very limited as there are only two spots in front of the park. The trail is very thin so be very careful when walking up. If you're afraid of heights, this trail isn't for you. I wouldn't recommend coming alone as if you fall, there will be no one to help or report it as this place doesn't look like it gets a lot of traffic or isn't patrolled at all. Sign outside says it is a gift of Warren Beatty so must have been landed he owned that he donated. Looks like some people get busy in this park because of how secluded it is as we found a condom wrapper on the ground. People please keep this park clean and pick after yourself!

Very loose footing through the trail. Much of the trail is over grown, a rockslide covered part of the trail and only way to cross was to aim high and go across hopefully making it across the trail without sliding down the entire canyon. I hike often and much of this trail made me nervous. It was very short though, only took about 15 mins to loop around. I did see many lizards, birds, and deer. Afterwards, I wondered up the street through a construction zone and up an undeveloped dirt road that showed amazing views of the city/mountains.

really cool tire swing towards the start of the trail

this hike was great for me. i love paths that are more green than actual dirt, but i can see why this might be a downside and why most people don't like it so much. the trail is pretty thin and muddy from the rain, but it's gorgeous overrun with water and green plants. there's also a tire swing near the start of the trail. for those who like to hike solo or with their dogs, i recommend this one. parking is in a residential area on the street, and you can only park to the right (heading up the road). make sure to carpool or leave your car on dixie canyon and walk up the street until you see the signs and be mindful of the neighbors.

It's not good man. It's unkept. It's confusing. It's not ok. Maybe it's time to let nature take it back.

Overgrown trail and shrubbery. It was very hard to find the pathway. Not a good trail for children.

Pretty cozy hike in a subdivision, not long or hard but a good way to kill some time and get a little exercise in before a game of tennis.

It's close to home and offers a lot of activities to do. It has children's playground equipment, 2 basketball courts, 4 BIG, tennis courts, a dirt track, clean bathrooms, picnic area, nice spacious landscape and the most important, it's kept nice and clean. This park is one of my favorite parks in Studio City. They have recreation areas and can let you sign up for sports/classes that interests you. Recently, I had taken few classes with couple of their teachers/coaches and they are WONDERFUL! Earlier this morning I went to play tennis with one of my friends. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and to play. We don't keep score. We just like to play and have fun. You can walk, jug, people walk their dogs, kids, they have picnic areas and do a lot of kids birthday parties.. or you can just simply sit in silence and enjoy nature, the sunlight and have a good, peaceful time. Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. I am not going to dock a star for that since it meets all the other amenities & requirements.

ColdwaterCanyon Park isn't your typical one, but it has easy hiking trails (connects to Fryman Canyon), benches and beautiful views. Another bonus is Tree People with their nice plants, picnic benches and clena restrooms. Sometimes I like to bring a book and read, relax, enjoy the peace (when not interrupted by leaf blower at some house in the hills). There are water fountains and a snack vending machine with healthier options. This is a great place to take a walk, exercise, hike, depending what you are in the mood for. The views are amazing and it's great to be surrended by nature, so many trees and birds (I have seen many blue birds around). Keep your music to yourself (bring those earbuds), there are many shady spots and cute flowers, depends on the season. Enjoyable spot in LA if you need to recharge, exercise, get away, be in the nature!

Believe it or not, this park is not only for kids. I also love having fun in the sun or during twilight. It has so many different activities to do. I love to get on the swing, even slide on the slides and be a kid and be young at heart. It has a nice grass area with some workout equipment closer to the street. I have worked out in the past on those machines. You can jog, walk, walk your dogs and just chill and relax. I have also done yoga 2 or 3 times in the past. It is pretty big and beautiful. Nature is always beautiful to me. Nice trees, benches to sit and relax and eat a light meal or have a birthday party. I have seen families held birthday parties there so many times. It is a good getaway from home when you want to be alone or take your kids there to play. Plenty of parking on the streets to park your cars and just walk right into the park. Recently they have done a major and nice renovation to the playground and made it more durable and safe for the kids to play in the playground. Upgraded the place, structure and the ground surface. Which is a major PLUS FOR SAFETY!! Love this park and is so close to my house. I can even walk there. Also very CLEAN!! The reason I am giving 4 stars is that it has no bathrooms. I mean most parks have at least 1 or 2 bathrooms. Why doesn't this park have a restroom?? It is so IMPERATIVE to build a bathroom somewhere in the park!!! Where are we supposed to go when mother nature is calling us?? Doesn't matter whether you are a kid or an adult. When you got to go, you got to go. I could have given 3 stars, but since this park brings back a lot of good times and memories, I don't want to duck a star for that. If you build a BATHROOM/RESTROOM, my 4 stars will turn into 5 stars!! Think about the restroom situation and please do something about it.

We came with one of his friends. I was chaperoning. Back then things were a little different as they are now. I was a lot younger and when you have 2 teenagers with you, you focus more on them than on you. We all enjoyed our hike and found it pretty amusing, interesting, but there were moments that we had to stop, use the bathroom and pick up where we left off. This morning around 10:30am I went for a walk all by myself to clear my head. The sound of the birds, the beautiful trees, the flowers were just AMAZING in every way!! They have different trails that kind of takes you in different directions. I packed my self 2 sandwiches, a drink, and bottled water just in case I got thirsty/hungry. Took 20 minutes break, fully relaxed, and picked myself up and continued my walk/hike. Air was crisp, fresh, sun was shining bright, and thankfully nobody was smoking weed. There were a lot of couples walking their dogs, kids in strollers, and if you want to be in the arms of nature, this definitely is the most breathtaking, beautiful, gorgeous place to be!! I have been to other hiking trails, but I have to admit, this is by far one of my favorite places to go hiking. So green, serene, and FANTASTIC in every way! They have few parking entrances and some trails are more steep than others. Eventually when you go down, you end up in a residential area with beautiful homes and rich people living there. A lot of homeless, and weird people are around and staring at you and your children. Be cautious and careful. We got easy parking right in front of the playground on a Sunday at noon. The park was large and the playground was nice, tons of space for kids to run around, and structures to climb when the mood struck. Toby's parents took over a sizable area with picnic tables, where they set up a buffet lunch and, later, cake. My three-year-old will remember this party for the orange soda ("Why are you letting me drink this?"), but I appreciated the ample, well maintained neighborhood park. The park is very beautiful with soft grass that seems well maintained and cut and there are zero foxtails which is a big plus. I can tell everyone respects the park as there's zero trash on the ground and everyone is picking up after their dogs. We did some excersizes with our dogs in the park and then we walked around the neighborhood and then back through the park along the nice dirt trail to end. Similarly to last time, again I noted ALLOT of off leash dogs. They seem well behaved but one did decide to run away from its owner and did a full circle around our pack and the owner was chasing it. This caused several dogs to react and get riled up and it really could have been an issue if that off leash dog had decided to run at any of us, thankfully it didn't, it was just happy to run in circles until its owner caught it. Overall despite this, these distractions were actually really helpful for practicing training with my dog, and she did amazingly. There were so many other distractions too such as loud cars or motorcycles and kids and people running or biking. I guess maybe my dog leveled up because it was a very successful walk! I was very happy today with the experience. All the people who live in the neighborhood next to this park are so lucky to be so close to such a beautiful and well maintained space.
