First and foremost, wow! is all I have to say. I was not just looking for a CCH class. When I did…read moremy research I was looking for an experience for not just me but my son and I. Whether you're a first time concealed carry permitee, renewing or coming into the state of North Carolina I highly recommend Carolina concealment and defense. The classes here are smaller but that is by design. I am confident that they do not do this for the money. They do this to share the knowledge, safety and what you really need to know in the state of North Carolina. Could they have a class of 20 to 25 people like you'll see most classes in Eastern North Carolina.....yes. But, it's an experience among friends atmosphere which made it that much better! Do your research, listen to ratings and what people have to say. Although my son and I drove an hour it was worth the drive. The experience we had would not have been had anywhere else. Charlie and Tina are salt of the earth type of folks. They are the kind of people that you will add to your Christmas card list. Not only that, they know their stuff. I've been around guns since I was in my early 20s even through the Marine Corps. However, I actually learned a little more about certain things. All I can say it was a fantastic

I learned an immense amount of information spanning proper safety protocols, different laws/statutes, firearm maintenance, etc. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in getting their concealed carry permit. It was the best investment I've made in years!

The classroom portion was very thorough and combined with dry firing, which really helped reinforce what we were learning in real-time. One thing I really appreciated was being able to use their gear at no extra cost--just had to bring ammo but there was ammo available for purchase. The attention to detail was top-notch, and both instructors took the time to break everything down so that everyone, regardless of experience level, could keep up and feel confident. It's extremely important to see the instructor shoot--and man, Hunter was great! Watching him in action gave us all a clear standard to aim for and showed he truly practices what he teaches. I'll definitely be coming back for more of their courses. Highly recommend!

There are several qualities which Hunter and the Small Arms Combatives CCH Course have which make…read moreit the best choice for those looking to take a course, but to keep this review short here are two: First is Hunter's candor, no bones about it attitude, and his obvious expertise. He teaches a lifestyle, not a class per se. Making the choice to become a protector (either yourself or others) by concealing a weapon is not an easy one, and may result in a life or death struggle. Hunter prepares you to face this possibility with a combative mindset. Second is the design of the course. You will spend time learning skills and performing drills which you may use in a real world situation. A course should not only teach you what to do, but how to do it... and ideally how to practice for any situation that may arise. Here is something that is obvious to me but it must not be to others....You cannot learn best handgun practices and techniques by shooting 40 times at a target. Think about all the things you can do 40 times and still suck at it (lifting weights?). You need to put a ton of rounds down range. Any other course is inadequate for this reason, you simply don't shoot enough. This is a long review, but the Small Arms Combatives CCH Course was thoughtfully designed and I thought it appropriate to reflect that in my review. This is the only class I will recommend for my loved ones to take because it will prepare them to stay alive in the event that something horrible happens. It's perfect for a new gun owner, or someone who is not very experienced with firearms, but it's still the best choice for someone with more experience like myself.

Let me tell ya, when you have a very stressful day since 5 AM, without a proper cup of morning joe, it can be quite a stress relief to shoot off a round, or two, or three... of 9mm or .22. Actually, I think I'm one of the few that's allowed in the back shooting range, since I know someone who know someone who runs the place :) Even without the familiarity, the cool and helpful folks here keep this place nice and orderly. If you have a small scale store, that carry dangerous merchandises such as rifles and guns (and pink taser and pink mace) you will definitely have to run a tidy shop. I also give two thumbs up to the knowledge of firearms and ammo. You would never figure by the dingily look from outside. No offense. They also run conceal firearm training course here, with reasonable price, and possible rib lunch on your lucky day! P.S. Sorry, no photos! but trust me, you'll feel all giggly once you step inside, like I did.

I haven't tried their shooting range but I did buy a handgun from here a couple months ago and enjoyed my experience. I even sold a few 1911's here and got what I was asking for them making the process pretty painless and enjoyable. Prices seem to be a little better than most other gun stores around my area so I don't mind the drive. The store is pretty much fully stocked with all kinds of firearms and I have recommended the place to a few of my buddies. The online store is great and easy to navigate but I haven't ordered anything offline yet. Overall I would definitely recommend this gun store to anyone, I look forward to going back whenever I decide what I want to add to my collection.
