There was something incredible around every corner: Wildlife: We were lucky enough to see grizzly bears, black bears, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, birds, and so much more. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat was truly special. Glaciers & mountain views: Ancient glaciers surrounded by towering peaks, dramatic landscapes, and endless mountain views it honestly felt unreal. Turquoise lakes: The crystal-clear, turquoise waters looked almost too perfect to be real. Every lake felt like a postcard. Boat rides: A peaceful way to take in the beauty of the park, surrounded by glacier-fed waters and stunning mountain scenery. Hiking: Every trail we explored was worth it! Avalanche Lake, Hidden Lake, Running Eagle Falls, and more each one offered something completely different and beautiful. Wildflowers: Colorful wildflowers and bear grass were everywhere, adding even more beauty to an already incredible landscape. Huckleberry ice cream: And of course, you can't visit Glacier without trying huckleberry ice cream! Such a fun and delicious Glacier tradition. From the wildlife and glaciers to the turquoise lakes, scenic drives, hikes, and peaceful boat rides, Glacier National Park truly has it all. We left with so many beautiful memories and a camera roll full of pictures we'll be looking at for a long time. Absolutely unforgettable and 100% worth the trip!

I was very disappointed with both our stay and, even more so, how management handled my concerns…read moreafterward. We stayed at the St. Mary / East Glacier KOA for two nights, July 17-19, 2026. I specifically chose this campground and paid a premium rate in large part because of the advertised pool, hot tub, and sauna. During our entire stay, the hot tub was out of order, the sauna was out of order, and the pool heater was not working, leaving the pool extremely cold at approximately 70°F. We reported the problems to the onsite office staff, and maintenance personnel checked the equipment and confirmed that repairs could not be completed immediately and would require outside service. I understand that equipment can fail unexpectedly. What I found unacceptable was the way management handled the matter afterward. I called the campground twice and was told messages would be left for the manager. I then sent multiple emails requesting a reasonable partial refund, not a full refund, because we did receive the campsite and hookups. Despite those efforts, management did not respond. Only after a few weeks passed and I contacted KOA corporate and KOA forwarded my complaint to the campground did management finally reply. They acknowledged that the hot tub, sauna, and pool heater were unavailable during our stay, but still denied any partial refund because the campsite and hookups were provided. That response misses the point. We paid a premium price for a campground offering amenities that were an important part of why we selected this location. Had we known those amenities would all be unavailable, we would have stayed at a considerably less expensive campground nearby. Mechanical problems happen. Good customer service is demonstrated by how a business responds when they do. In this case, I was especially disappointed that it took repeated phone calls, multiple emails, and ultimately intervention from KOA corporate just to receive a response from campground management. Based on our experience with the unavailable amenities and the way management handled a reasonable customer concern, I would have difficulty recommending this campground at its premium pricing.

When we arrived at the campsite the ranger was very friendly and gave us helpful information about storing our food items and being sure to pack everything up as this area is prone to bears. The site itself was very private. Our particular campsite allowed the RV to be parked in front and was surrounded by trees so we felt as though we were in our own little camping world. The sites at the top of loop C offer an open field perfect for sunset watching or stargazing, but do not provide as much privacy. When planning your stay, be sure to note the shower locations. We were on the opposite end of the loop, and running to the showers in the brisk morning air was not a favorable option. Additionally, the visitors center is a little bit of a walk, but provides a shuttle to Logan Pass via "Going to the Sun Road". This was a great option for us, as our RV was not able to drive the road due to vehicle size restrictions. I would recommend the shuttle as it runs pretty frequently and parking can be scarce at the popular overlooks and trail heads. Overall, we enjoyed this campsite and look forward to coming back here!

The owner was so kind and helpful. The cabin rooms next to the river are very fairly priced and come with a bed, light fixtures, plug-ins and a sitting area. There are also other amenities on site (showers, bathroom, diner, etc.) I didn't even plan to stay here, but so glad I found it! Will stay here EVERY Glacier trip.

Full disclosure - I only hiked like 5 mins of this trail, but that's because it was closed for the…read morewinter still despite being Sunday June 29! The trail actually opened in full that Wednesday, so I came just slightly too early. That said, I hiked the loop trail up to the intersection of the highline trail, and walked along to near glacier junction. You can see the continuation of the trail in the distance and it is obviously a gorgeous trail - and quite challenging given the distance, although I'm told the incline is actually fairly gradual. Overall: I'm planning a trip back to glacier next summer a little bit later specifically to do this trail out to grinnell glacier overlook along the garden wall. My trip along the loop was absolutely stunning, so I want to make it out to granite peak chalet again another way. And while it likely won't come as a surprise to anyone planning to hike this trail, do bear in mind the warnings about safety including taking enough water/food, bear spray, and ideally going with someone else (particularly given doing this trail takes pretty much all day).

The campground can get a bit busy during the day as people accidentally pull in looking for parking to do the easy cedars trail which is right next to the campground. It's pretty quiet at night. Words of warning: activities with Algers, your wonderful guide, are not for the tame, but those with an adventurous spirit seeking some guidance from a backcountry expert. This is not safari, just time spent enjoying being alive in a beautiful place. My boyfriend and I chose to do a Jeep Tour with Blackfeet Outfits. Normally, I don't splurge on things I deem to be "touristy," as I hail from a resort town myself and am fairly comfortable outdoors. But, it was September, high bear season, a last minute trip and yadayadayada, so a jeep tour sounded safer. I am SO glad I didn't miss out on the Jeep Tour experience! Other than tranquil Glacier National Park, the time spent with Algers of Blackfeet Outfitters was the highlight of our Montana Excursion. I'm already looking forward to going back next year for fly-fishing, and renting one of the awesome cabins on the property. I saw some mixed reviews online of his lodging. I'm not sure where that stems from, although I assume it's because Babb isn't as glamorous as staying in the Park itself. It is however way more comfortable and a short drive to the Many Glaciers entrance of GNP. For those with RVs, he also has 17 hook ups on site. Best time ever.
