They also sell postage for the postcards, which is rather convenient. The selection is decent, but it looks like everything else you'll find in every other souvenir shop in London. I took away several stars because some of the items (e.g. bags) are conspicuously low-quality, with popped stitches and seams. The ladies tees are also very thin... especially the white ones. I bought one, and when I tried it on at the hotel it was almost sheer in the back. It also didn't fit well in the chest, so my plan was to return it.The sizing here seems to be slightly different than American sizes. A size Large here is equivalent to a size Medium in the States (I didn't knock off a star for that. Just an FYI). Since there are no fitting rooms in the tiny store, I definitely suggest trying a shirt over your clothes if you can to get a general idea if it fits or not. This store does not offer cash refunds, as I unfortunately found out, and I ended up having to leave with some other crap that I really did not need as an exchange.

The Market is picturesque with lovely flower carts by the entrances. Historically, Covent Gardens were the gardens for the convent. Today, the beautiful enclosed market hosts various vendors that change regularly. The market is a great way to connect with locals. We went to the market four times during our visit. On Sundays, various art vendors set up and we visited with a local fossil dealer and purchased a couple fossils. We loved our dinner in one of the nearby cafes. On Mondays, antique dealers set up and sell various treasures. My husband bought me a vintage bracelet. We also watched a quintet play in the atrium. We found a few reasonably priced souvenirs to take home for gifts. Plenty of great restaurants surround the Market. We ate at several places and enjoyed our meals. The Market always seems to be new and people were friendly.

For any one of my friends traveling into London I always recommend veering off a little to Carnaby. Over the years some shops have come and go but some of my favorites remain open. I'm a huge Great Frog lover and their shop is nearby, also for us rock n rollers I can't help stopping into The Rolling Stones Uk store. Lots of major branded stores but also cute local vendors and stores. It's a very walkable street and safe. Plenty busy so come earlier in the day to beat the crowds. Another pro tip is catching a reservation at dishshoom down here as I've found it easier to snag a reservation here than at their other locations. Plenty of dining options though and local stalls like Starbucks and Joe & the juice. It's a touristy street of shops but I love it - definitely bookmark this area on your must shop / see list when on this side of town.

After having a tasty snack at Pizza Pilgrims, went to the two story Rolling Stones store which was my favorite place on Carnaby Street. Unlike the super-bookshops on the Charing Cross and Tottenham Court roads, Foyles feels more personal, and it's reflected in the service. The staff really know their stuff and yesterday when I purchased a book I got a "Have a lovely day" as I received my change, a rarely uttered phrase in the service industry outside of the United States. My favourite part about it is that the R.R.P printed on the back of all the books is what Foyles charge so you know you're not being ripped off. Because this bookshop is so close to the Royal Festival Hall and The National Theatre, it has a particularly good selection of drama and theatre books, as well as travel guides, fiction, autobiographies, children's books, reference books, stationary and coffee table books. My only complaint is that as a lover of travel guidebooks, I like them to be arranged so that they're easy to find, and in this store they file the Australia and New Zealand books in the North and South America section. Apart from that, it's well worth a visit.
