My son and I took their open water dive class and the instructor Matt is an arrogant instructor that provides bad examples during his training. During a class session Matt was talking to another employee and pointed right at me. I asked what that gesture was about and he explained that he identified me as a "troubled" student. Being 60 years old and a PADI certified diver and taking the class with my son I find this action and attitude completely unprofessional. Matt doesn't have the professionalism to be an instructor. Matt should NOT be an instructor. So classless. read more

Stop it in for some scuba gear! I really do like the shop. They do offer great equipment, and a pool is available for scuba training, refreshers, and even swim lessons. The shop performs equipment maintenance and this is where we always seem to have a little bit of a challenge! Folks at the desk never seem to be able to find our equipment we have dropped off for servicing. We did receive an email telling us that the equipment was ready for pick up and if we did not pick up equipment up that there would be a daily fee for storage. There needs to be a better system about equipment retrieval for repairs! When we asked for the name of the manager, neither of the individuals working behind the desk knew who it was. They suggested that we look up the managers name on their website! We will have to come back another time after they found our scuba gear. Yikes! read more

Theres this manager I think her name was Delaney, whenever I talked to her she was nice but I all ways saw her roll her eyes afterwards. Sometimes I would hear her talking about other teachers. Overall seems like a toxic environment for children to be in. Dont recommend. She seems to talk to others differently, I'm mixed btw. read more

I told my children I would No longer pay for my granddaughter to continue to be traumatized by the swim instructor. They were fully aware my granddaughter was non verbal and autistic and she didn't understand the concept of sitting on the turtles to wait her turn since she just recently transitioned from someone in the water with her and the instructor kept trying to forcibly sit her on her turtles or scraping her knees as she is trying to get her out of the water. I have other grandchildren that go there and they have done great with them but this Instructor has no business working with the little ones since she obviously has no patience or tolerance for special needs children. read more

Everyone I have interacted with has been very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and the pool area is nice and warm, which has been especially nice when it's cold. Bought a mask for snorkeling for a trip, the mask leaked and did not work. Spent a lot of money on it. Called the location to see if we could exchange for the right fit or different mask. Was told over the phone that we could exchange so made the over an hour trip to the store to exchange. Got to the location and was able to exchange, when asked why would they say we would when we called, the manager explain in a very hostile tone that their policy has always been that way and there is nothing they can do. Just wish their staff would have their policies together so we didn't waste gas and over an hour drive for nothing. read more

My gf and I just completed our class/pool work for our Open Water Scuba certification and we had an amazing experience. Our teachers, Dave, Dave and George were all super nice and accommodating during training. They have a store with everything you would need to dive and their sales associates provide tremendous help. I just wish they had some sort of a sale every once in a while...as everything is full blown MSRP. Their pool is heated and great for teaching kids how to swim or learning how to dive. This place was great and all of the employees are nice and down to earth. I can't wait to take my next Scuba specialty course! I am a customer for life! read more

Recently did a cleanup at Bennett Springs mo. and had a very bad experience because they had us dive a section of the spring that had shallow fast moving water. That's clearly not a dive that many should make and I expressed it to management in an email and I did receive a phone call but I also received a response on social media from a friend of the manager saying the exact opposite of what I said in the email. The funny thing is I didn't post the email online so for this person (friend) of manager had to of seen it or the manage wrote the comment on his friend's social media. This is a great place to take your kids to learn how to swim. They have a great program that is followed regardless of who the instructor is and an immaculate facility. Once a week we make the trip to 120th and I for lessons. We have done this for the last year and our son (he's 3) can swim across the width of the pool without help and with confidence. He loves going and it wears him out. Pricing is a little high but for the amount of progress he has made, I think it's worth it and they limit the class size to 4 or less. Most of the time the classes have 2-3 kids. Compare this to the Y where there may be 7 kids and you can see where the difference in price comes from. The locker rooms are always very clean and there is no lack of staff to help you if you have any concerns or questions. My only complaint is that the changing areas of the locker room could be a little bit roomier. All in all, a great choice for lessons. read more

Think twice about doing business with these sham artists. Our daughter went through their scuba course and could not even do the basics. Then they sold her equipment that was not dive rated, (thanks Sahara) and then over charged on a trip. I will never do business with them and encourage you to avoid their store. read more

DiVentures is AWESOME! I've been a certified diver for about 11 years now, and they have met my last-minute needs time & time again. They stand by their equipment sales and I've been on several trips with them. The owners are kind, fair, & fun. Three of my children were certified through DiVentures in January 2011, and completed their first Bahamas dive trip through DiVentures, and I was so impressed the entire way through - making learning fun while helping them master their skills. Amazing! But for me, it's when you see how someone responds when they are not under public eye that tells you the real character of who they are. About 2 years ago I traveled with DiVentures to Utila, Honduras, hoping to see whale sharks. The tiny resort folks and Divemasters worked hard that week to show us some great diving, and great diving it was. Another small group of divers left what was a rather insulting tip for the employees & left, but next, on accident I overheard something pretty amazing. The DiVentures owners made good for these poor folks, where most others might have felt bad for them but not made it their problem. It wasn't even a reflection on them, they just were plain good folks. It made me proud to know I was/am supporting this local business knowing there are still some good guys left in the world. For me, I won't be switching shops anytime soon. read more

My husband and I, along with our grown kids and grandchildren have purchased all of our equipment from DiVentiures, and have joined them for 6 of their trips (2-3 of us each trip) We have completely enjoyed the company on each trip. We signed up for a trip to Thailand with DiVentures in July of 2014 to travel in October of 2015 to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We then learned (from a 30 year resident of Thailand) that this was booked during monsoon season, he advised us not to dive at this time due to the waters being extremely murky. He is a rescue diver and said they do much of their rescue training during this time for this reason. His belief was that they got pretty good discount pricing for that time of year which is likely why they booked it then. The trip was to cost us, $12,000 for the two of us, for two weeks including a week of diving and a week in Bangkok. After extensive internet research, I found him to be correct At exactly ONE YEAR to the date of travel, I asked to please cancel due to the fact that I wasn't comfortable spending 12 grand on a trip that was booked during the monsoon season and felt the advice of a resident was respectable. Nothing had been booked at this point for the trip per Megan, the "travel director." After a long two week argument via phone and email, they still refused to refund any of my $2,000.00 deposit. Yes, we had signed their waiver. Fortunately, it read for $500 each, therefore my credit card company did get $1,000 of the $2,000 returned. If this had been only a few months out, I would have completely understood the policy and taken the loss. We have spent in excess of $22,000 in 4 short years with them for certifications, equipment, swim lessons, Scuba Rangers and trips. I honestly thought they'd work with us: I asked them to carry the deposit over to the next trip, store credit, anything, knowing what kind of customers we were. The answer was "no refunds." They have since sold the trip out, and still refuse to refund the balance of my deposit. In one of their emails to me in the beginning, (one of the owners) asked, verbatim "if we would change the trip to, say February, would you go?" Of course we would have. We actually did go to Thailand in February with another dive shop for less than half of what this trip was to cost, for the same two full weeks including airfare and diving. I have since checked with the other dive shops, the normal is 60 days cancellation policy. Not DiVentures....the cancellation policy is they keep it all. Period. My advice is to research the destination and the travel time BEFORE you sign up for their trips, as I don't believe the "travel director" is educated in travel as you might expect. Lastly, don't expect to be anything more than a $ale to them. Customer loyalty means nothing... Not one cent was lost on their end by my cancellation one year early. They gained $1,000.00 from a very loyal customer. read more

DiVentures is not just a wonderful and unique facility but the staff is fantastic. From the minute you enter DiVentures you will be greeted with a smile and professional staff. The facility is fantastic and unique with a "warm and family type feeling". You will feel at ease in the store. We cannot say enough about the staff!! Our 9 year old has taken to the water and has began, what we feel will be a life long passion of scuba because of the staff at DiVentures. They have taken at every step of the way, safety, real concern of the student, wonderful teaching techniques, positive energy, and passion for what they are teaching. It is and has continued to be such a positive experience. The student to teacher ratio has been fantastic. It has been fascinating to see just how excited not only our daughter is about getting to go to DiVentures to attend scuba classes but to see the other young students enjoying their experience just as much. I have also had the privilege to meet a number of the staff and literally everyone is so focused on making the DiVenture experience a positive one. They have a very good selection of equipment and if it is not in the store they will work on getting it for you.
