    Inside the Dive...

Love the speak-easy bar inside - "the DIVE" and enjoyed our dinner at "the HIVE" for Taco Tuesday! Cannot wait to go back! Small dining room, only 30 seats. Need reservations. P.S. - Don't tell anyone about this place - LOL!

Dinner in the Hive bar was an unexpected great surprise. Made our reservation for 7:30. Seated and served soon after our arrival. Disappointed there was no Ice tea or lemonade for my Arnold Palmer but my diet coke from a can in a glass of ice was just fine. Blackened Chicken Alfredo Ceaser salad and bread were all delicious. Our server was very attentive, even made a sad face when she told us the Octopus was sold out.

I never knew there was a bar in the back of the liquor store.. it is quiet, moody, and my new favorite place to sit down with a friend and have a Long conversation. The cocktails/martinis are exquisite and are made very well. The bartenders are craftsmen. I absolutely love how almost secret this is! You would never know this gem was hidden inside.

    Great wine selection!

Great local liquor store with more of the crafty small batch finer spirits and accoutrements than the big box shops bother to have. If there is anything they don't have then they are super helpful to track it down or find me a substitute.

Bar area, bartender James on right.

Best hidden gems you'll find as far as whiskey and bourbons and all type of beers. I would say stop by and take a look around for sure

Haven't been to the bar yet but they have the best and elusive liquor and liqueurs you can find. The wine selection is also next level.

This is a great place! Awesome selection and fun times at the wine tasting. Can't wait to go to The Hive for a pop up dinner.

Lived in sarasota my whole life, favorite liquor store no doubt. Try the espresso martini, warning it is sneaky strong af.

Highly recommend this bar/restaurant. I would call it a hidden gem in South Sarasota. Incredible menu with quality ingredients and service.

They have my new favorite Gin "Roots of Ruin" made by a renovated 100+ yr old distillery in Franfort, KY. Excellent herbacious Gin.

I was there for the wine, I might have bought some potato salad. You step off the burning Sarasota asphalt into a cool, carpeted room that smells like cold cut steaks, smoked bacon fat, and the damp oak of expensive wine barrels. It's quiet inside, the kind of quiet that lets a man hear his own thoughts, whether he wants to or not, typically I fo not care to hear the committee as I so affectionately refer to the voices. On one side, you've got cold glass cases packed with raw red beef, house made sausage, and thick-cut slab bacon. On the other side, row after row of Cabernet and Pinot sit under green lamps, lined up on blonde wood racks like a legion of dark bottles ready to take the edge off a hot Florida evening. Up in the back room, behind a pair of doors under a small, glittering chandelier, they keep the high-dollar stuff Opus, Ridge, Cabernets that costs more than a ome poor slobs week's wages. High-end grapes waiting on a wooden barrel for somebody with too much money in his pocket. It's half butcher shop, half high class cellar, all clean carpet and quiet business. You can pick out a prime ribeye, grab a bottle of deep red to drown the heat, and head back out to the parking lot before the sun burns through your shirt. A solid joint. Get your meat, grab your wine, and get out into the shade.

From our table, I could actually see my chicken sandwich sitting in the service window for quite some time before it was finally brought out. When the food arrived, the sandwich, fries, and cheese were all cold. I politely asked for the meal to be remade and inquired whether it would take another 30 minutes. Our server said they would get it out quickly and explained that they were busy. However, looking around the dining room, there were only a handful of occupied tables and two servers working. Several nearby tables were simply having drinks, so it was difficult to understand the delay. What was most disappointing wasn't even the cold food--it was the lack of acknowledgment. A simple apology or some communication about the delay would have gone a long way toward improving the experience. I understand that servers aren't responsible for cooking the food, but they do pass the service window regularly. If food has been sitting under the heat lamps for several minutes waiting on other items, someone should be checking on it or having it remade before it reaches the customer. We were hoping to add this restaurant to our list of regular dining spots, but based on this visit, it unfortunately didn't make the cut.
