I decided to sign up after googling the open times for Othello's and noticing the undeserved 1 star…read morereview from Aaron S. I recently happened across Othello's late Sunday afternoon after returning from a day shopping - my girlfriend and I had no other options for places to eat so we dropped in here to see how it was - I ordered Barbecue Chicken and chips and she had the typical staple of a High street cafe, sausage egg and chips. The Barbecue chicken was the best Barbecue food I have ever eaten - and I habitually eat any barbecue food offered at restaurants. The chips were light and fluffy with a slight crisp - perfect. The food itself was absolutely fantastic - we've since gone back nearly every sunday and the rest of the items on the menu quite easily live up to previously set standards. The portion sizes are far larger than the prices would suggest as it is ridiculously cheap - unless you're used to Gregs or pound bakery you'll be hard pressed to find somewhere more affordable. The staff are extremely well mannered, very helpful and very courteous and hard working - I honestly feel that a 1 star review from some one who can't handle a bit of yolk (Don't eat eggs is my advice) is extremely undeserved for this hidden gem in the town centre. I'd rather eat here than traipse into Manchester for an over priced burger/meal of lesser quality. Othellos is a true staple of the traditional high street cafe but without the greasy spoons.

This Costa store is just outside one of the entrances to the Millgate Shopping Centre and is one…read moreof two stores in Bury. On my recent visit, they was a very large queue and I must of been waiting a good 10-15 minutes to get served simply because of a fault they have been having all day, they explained that only one machine to heat up the milk was working and they have been so busy, with customers nearly queuing out of the door that they could not even phone staff, their case was worsened with some staff being off and not showing up. If you were in that queue I appoligise as I held it up even more trying to get them to check if the Gingerbread and Cream Christmas flavour Latte was Gluten Free, they didn't appear to know but I asked them what was in it and realised if they didn't put on the Gingerbread man it would be fine, the saucers the cups were served on were quite nice and the drinks were satisfactory, not the quality of Starbucks but worth what I paid, £2.85 but if you consider how long I waited, I wish I would of gone to Starbucks. I bought a Gluten Free Christmas cake for £1.70 which was quite small and a little hard but yet the icing was nice and it was okay, but it wasn't fantastic either. I also bought a Gluten Free Christmas wrap, what is very similar to the ones Starbucks do, if you compare the pictures you will notice they is a few minor changes like lettuce instead of Baby Spinnach, even the wraps are the same ones from the same company. A comment I must add about the wraps after trying them later on is they is another major difference between the great tasting one at Starbucks - this gluten free wrap may use the same wrap and similar toppings but it is just awful, I feel charging £3.70 for a wrap of that quality is robbery in pure daylight, Costa did make a great Chicken and Basil wrap so when this tasted as vile as it did I was shocked. I understand what happened with this store, but they should be more prepared for events like this when it gets busy and a machine could break and they can't even phone staff. They should also have more knowledge about Gluten, the staff were like headless chickens, they really didn't have a clue and thought Gingerbread Men would be okay, I do feel all the more reason with them selling a variety of Gluten Free things they should be aware of this, After trying the wrap, I have had to change my rating for the review from 2 stars to 1, for these reasons : - They did have some Gluten Free crisps but their other products such as the wrap was vile and the Christmas Cake was okay but it was hard and for a small £1.70 cake, you would expect good quality. - My drink was just Okay, it wasn't great, I would say it was worth £2.85 but it wasn't worth queuing up 10-20 minutes for, it wouldn't really of been worth having to wait half that length of time - They did not have a good knowledge about Gluten Free, which is a must when selling multiple Gluten Free products. - They struggled to cope with a broken machine and how busy it got, I am sure if someone would of spent 10 minutes phoning members of staff on a phone, that would of stopped them having customers have long waits all day, just for a short amount of times until they came in.

It is located near enough in the center of Bury's Rock Shopping center, in St John's Square and is near enough opposite or close to everything in The Rock, including Marks and Spencer. This branch looks quite nice on both the inside and outside, even with a "Takeaway" counter but this store has let me down for many reasons. I visited this store on March 6th and had a very upsetting experience to the point where I felt the need to complain, I asked if they did anything similar to the Vanilla Bean Macchiato on offer at Starbucks, and I asked if he could do me a Macchiato with Vanilla, he looked confused and told me it was the same as a Latte, and then I ordered that. I was angry that the staff didn't know the difference between different types of coffees, which show they are no where near qualified enough to work there. I was also confused, that they brought the drinks to my table, which I also didn't like, having been used to at 99.99% of Costa and Starbucks branches I have visited, I got them from the end. I was also confused why this happened as they didn't seem quiet either. My coffee was hot, but it wasn't good quality either, both the coffee and the vanilla flavoring tasted poor, which I often find of Costa coffee but this was a prime example of this and definitley not a good drink, like I could have got from some Costa branches They did have a great selection of newspapers including The Sunday Times with all the sections and even the Independant (albeit, with 5 pages missing about the EU referendum etc), which was good to see as they was a nice, selection of newspapers especially with Sunday papers being more expensive. I found rating this place hard, as they did have a nice selection of newspapers and it is a nice looking store, but still the drinks were very poor quality, and more expensive than what they would have cost at Starbucks to a Gold member like myself, and the staff were underquallified. Also, due to the situation on how the drinks were presented making it seem like a poor cafe, rather than a coffee shop also means I have to result in a 1 star review, which although means it isn't absolutely terrible, it still doesn't warrant a two.

Newly refurbished, this Costa is the first example I've seen of the new livery and it makes it a…read moremuch more inviting space through better seating arrangements including new banquettes and a larger interior footprint, which is what you need in the rainy north! With the addition of a takeaway bar outside, the queue inside is more manageable too, which just improves things no end. The coffee is as it always has been, passable, and the food menu is as reliable if limited as ever, but that's what you get from a chain as ubiquitous as Costa. It doesn't win any awards in my book but it's a respite from the rain and the shoppers, which is what a lot of people want.
