The chicken and whole bowl overall was so bland and I had to put a ton of sauce. I tried two different bowl combinations too. Pretty good variety on their menu. There's meat options, veggies, and vegan options. - Quality. Delicious and fresh. All the ingredients in my ensalada were fresh. The guacamole and sides of salsa were made fresh, as well. You can order a side of their spicy salsa, which has a nice small kick. Hubby's burrito wasn't too oily from the meats, which was good, because the oil didn't hide the flavor of the other ingredients. It's not the best Mexican food we've had, but it's delicious for fast casual. - Service. Our order was prepared timely and ready upon pickup. No issues. - Location. Easy to find in the plaza. Also conveniently located near other restaurants and shops. There is a seating area inside and a handful of tables outside, which is helpful when the weather is nice. - Price. So, going in, I didn't know what to expect; there were only two other people in here on a Saturday night. I ordered the 3 tacos and a bowl. Next time, I will get the bowl and maybe a quesadilla. Grabbed a "build your own" salad bowl during my lunch break. Super clean inside with easy to order screens. I built a salad with chorizo (really tasty) and various toppings along with chips and queso. I enjoyed my salad bowl, but my only complaint is they could've gave a little more chorizo along with the other toppings I ordered. Would've made the salad more enjoyable. Not sure what was going on but they were very disrespectful. We have dined here so many times and now the last dine is going to be our last. We came in and no one said anything about limited seating. We saw all tables except for booths with paper and pencils. No sign "reserved" or any communication about that. We ordered via kiosk, paid and gave a tip. We proceed to sit at the table to being told we can't sit there. No explanation why and I asked where can we sit. The guy pointed at the booth which was good for 2 people. We had 2 small kids with us so I told him there wasn't a room. He shrugged and pointed that we are to sit at 2 separate booths. No, thank you. We came to dine as a family so I told him I'd like for us to sit together. He moved the table of one booth to make the table bigger but still no room for us to sit. So I asked him about the chairs for the extra table. He shrugged and walked away. I was appalled. The cookers were looking at us like they didn't care. I asked him if we were supposed to eat standing up? He just rudely ignored us so I asked for a refund. There was just no way we would pay for a restaurant that does not treat us with respect. When the guy saw I asked for refund, he took two chairs from the table and put at booth. Why couldn't have he done it way before? Why couldn't have he showed the care about our patronage and made sure we were welcomed by making things possible for us? And this restaurant does not take reservations so I have no idea what the hold up of all chairs not at the booth. We walked to Santa Rosa Taqueria who treated us way better. First time trying District Taco. I'm impressed. Upon entering your greeted and can feel the good ventilation inside the place. The employees are very friendly and are all wearing masks correctly. Also the place was spotless. The floors and tables were very clean. The pricing isn't bad. A little high though. But it's 2021 so it's kinda expected. The presentation of the food visible was amazing. Everything looked super fresh. They have sorta a open kitchen like Chipotle. Upon getting the food. I asked for water cups and were given free cups which is a plus. When I sat down and tasted the food. I could tell it was gonna be good just from the appearance. When I tasted the chicken with some of the lettuce with the nachos. I was amazed at how fresh the lettuce tasted. Probably the best lettuce I tasted in my time. The toppings were all fresh tasting. The vibe of the place was hipster and cool looking being close to the UMD campus. The only downfall was the portion sizes of the meat on the nachos. It could've had a little bit more chicken included. But filled up on nachos and the ultra good tasting lettuce anyway so I was happy. The general crowd here was mainly Uber eats & door dash people coming and going. There were a few people dining in. Mainly adults and some college kids. Middle class. Noise level was normal also. I've been to District Taco a couple times. The prices are pretty good. The restaurant is clean and has nice outdoor seating. The restaurant style is a little similar to chipotle where you make your own bowl, burrito, etc. My favorite thing to get is the bowl with chicken. The chicken has a nice char on it which gives it extra flavor. I also love their salsas and chipotle mayo. The guacamole is a 5/5. It has a lot of lime in it which I love. The portion size is also great. A large quac and chips is good for two people and the chips taste great. The only thing is that the portion sizes are a little small. For example my boyfriend ate two burritos instead on one because one wasn't filling enough. I also noticed my bowl seemed a little smaller than chipotle but I definitely think it tastes better. So I guess the price evens out with other places but I believe the food tastes better so its a matter of quality vs quantity. District Taco will definitely become a regular fixture for me especially with it being so close to UMD! read more

District Taco.... so the customer service is always good. I love that the staff is diverse. I'm giving a 4 star rating because for me the tacos are just okay. The guacamole is amazing, that is probably my favorite item to order. They do have fish tacos which my niece enjoys. If I am not mistaken this is only served on special days. The salsa bar is decent. The other tacos like steak tacos and chorizo tacos are okay for the price. I'm just moving back home from Texas where tacos like these are cheaper and delicious. Huge DT fan!! I've only been to this location a handful of times. This week I stopped by to pick up a mobile order. I had a birthday reward I needed to use before it expired and I was in the mood for tacos! My order was ready when I arrived. Currently due to Covid-19, no dining inside but there's limited outdoor seating. I took my order to go! The tacos were just ok - not the best to be honest. Parking here is hectic. I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend as we have been recommended to for a long time by his roommate and it really lived up to his hype. We both ordered fish tacos, one order also had rice while the other didn't, and it tasted amazing! Like a past reviewer said, I do recommend getting the fish tacos with the rice because it prevents the mayo and juices from running as much and it makes the taco a bit more filling. There was also a salsa bar with homemade salsa which I thought was really special. There were different intensities of salsa and the hot one was fairly spicy. In terms of environment, it's a really casual and friendly one. The layout and design of the restaurant is also definitely really unique. The signs are designed with colored chalk and different font types and some of the lights were created with bulbs and crates hanging off the ceiling. The staff are patient and helpful and the store was nice and clean. The next morning I woke up craving the taco's again. I definitely recommend this place for some quality off campus food! read more

It's my first time in the area. I'm a first time customer. The 3 ladies manning their stations were very friendly and the cashier gave exceptional service. She explained everything to me and the transaction went on with a breeze. The food portion sizes are much better than fancy restaurants like PF Chang's yet the pricing is far cheaper too. District Taco will certainly give Chipotle a run for its money. The only mistake she made was she accidentally gave me extra food tacos. She deserves a raise and praise for good customer service cause I definitely plan on coming back someday. I was so excited when I heard District Taco was coming to Riverdale. I've been anxiously awaiting their arrival. Of all the places in MD for an outpost to be built, I am super elated to have it here near my workplace and near Whole Foods. To start, there's plenty of FREE parking. There is a garage right next door, street parking out front, and a large lot steps away out front of Whole Foods (not restricted to WF). And it's all free! I came for the tacos. I really wanted fish tacos. DT's are my absolute favorite in the DMV. But alas, fish are only available on certain days, and Thursday is not one of them. I had to stay in the area for a work event, so I had no choice of my day to visit. Luckily for me, Thursday is a shrimp taco day. Yay! Second choice, but still delicious. These tacos are $3.50 each or 3/$9.50. Not exactly cheap for an ala cart dinner, but really two was all I needed to be sated. They are small in size, but each Taco has four spicy shrimp in it. Did I mention that they are delicious? Why yes I did. I still plan to return on a fish taco day. Patience is a virtue. I will survive another day without my fish taco for now. read more

The tacos were good, I tried both the flour and corn tortilla and I didn't like the corn tortilla! I like flour much better. The queso was amazing! The rice and beans had more beans than it did rice so the ratio was a bit off. But overall good experience. I also had the mango jarrito drink which was good. I would go back and I would recommend! My wife and I were looking for breakfast one weekend morning, and decided to give District Taco a shot. I've been to the Eastern Market location multiple times, and have always had a great experience. When we walked in, we were the only customers. I guess most people eat breakfast before 10:30 AM. I ordered the carne asada breakfast burrito, and she ordered huevos rancheros. The order came out pretty quickly, and we did our best to try to finish both dishes. My wife ate about half of hers while I (didn't need to, but) did finish my enormous burrito. Both dishes were tasty and fulfilling. Their coffee was also pretty good and it's local from Alexandria (I think it is Swing's). Hot coffee and hot breakfast doesn't go that well together though. read more

A local chain's Hyattsville outpost. The food is a cross between Mexican street fare (ie the good stuff) and Tex-Mex. On a 2nd visit, the result is acceptable but underwhelming. The weak points are key ones. The corn tortillas are dry, and not delicious. They don't feel made from scratch, and don't have enough oil. If you want to taste proper corn tortillas for comparison, try the famous R&R Taqueria in Elkridge, MD. Maybe flour are better, but Mexican street fare is traditionally corn. And the meats I've tried thus far (several, and at peak times) are sort of dry and not as well seasoned as they should be. Americanized filling maybe? Take the Huevos Rancheros for example. They look awfully much like a sloppy enchilada, with none of the distinct components or potent flavors in other versions I've had. The meat is all but lost under the heavy top layer of cheese. Is it filling for the $9? Sure. Worth repeating? Debatable. Salsas are fresh and tasty, with 4-5 varieties (and pico) available. Staff are cordial. Prices are reasonable. This location has ample free parking nearby. There's one or two outdoor tables, and the Riverdale Park Station layout lends itself to a post-dinner stroll. I'm feeling 3.5 stars. If this was a larger chain, I'd go with 3, but for the local flavor I rounded up to 4. Their Riverdale store is a nice location, and I appreciate what they're trying to do, but I didn't find it compelling. If you were considering Tex Mex, then go here by all means. If you were hoping for a taste of Mexico in the states? You'll want to keep looking. read more

This most recent visit, the California burrito was mostly rice and I doused it with onions, limes and salsas from the salsa bar to make it more flavorful. The carne asada didn't have much flavor either. However, the chicken is much better. The best parts of DT are the queso and fresh salsa bar. Not only were multiple items missing (such as the sour cream and corn in my bowl ordered and salad dressing and corn in the salad) but a piece of a bottle cap was found tossed into the salad. I am so thankful my mom (who got the salad) didn't ingest it. That could've been deadly. Quality control was definitely lacking today.
