I arrived early in order to check out the space and compare what items with the Manhattan location. Here, the space is totally different than its sister location, in a good way. Standards were definitely intact, the staff was just friendly and the products were the same,, but the space itself is beautiful! High ceilings, modern minimalist decor..... a definite cool Brooklyn vibe, yet it was still comfortable. The calming music set the perfect atmosphere for relief. My mom doesn't care what I do as long as I provide her with her own drug of choice (access to grandchildren), my employer can't get upset if I'm not doing anything illegal, and I imagine Empire Cannabis Clubs want positive reviews of their establishment because they want more customers. Because this is now legal. As it should be, considering it's more helpful, and less harmful than alcohol. Also, it also feels weird to purchase marijuana in the same space (this used to be a Kay Jewelers) where I bought a wedding ring. But it's very close to where I live, and I was walking by, and curious. All my feelings aside, here are some things I can report: 1. The staff here is super friendly, and accommodating. From the security guard in front to the guy who explained the process and showed me the wares, to the cashier and other folks standing around. 2. Cash (or debit card for a fee) only. 3. They have a nice selection of anything anyone might want (or at least anything I'd want). 4. It's pretty pricey, but maybe that's the going rate for the legal stuff. I don't know, I'm not really up on such things. All in all, seems like a good establishment. It's also very conveniently located on the Fulton Mall.
