It wasn't bad at all. I moved into my house for 2 years now. No problem. The speed is as stated (from 16mb-18mb;marketed as 18mb cable). The download is blazing fast! Like 10G torrent movie only takes like 15min-half hour (of course rely on seeders). There were times when the internet stopped working for like 2-3 times a month (usually friday) for an hour or so. But right now we haven't really experiencing any problem, even for the 2013 xmans blackout (though we had power lol). I have never called them because I simply don't need to..... Therefore I can't comment on the customer service cuz I'd never speak to them ever since I signed up... Do I recommend it? I would. I'm quite surprised that people are bashing them cuz so far I'd pleasant experience with them ever since I switch from Rogers (F**king caps!). this garbage of a company is very unstable with both their TV service, and internet service. The internet is constantly dropping, and lagging and no matter how many times you call, they dont know how to fix it. Our download speed is constantly lower (10mb/s lower) and the explanation for this is so the internet can be stable. i have no idea why you would even offer speeds if you cant handle it. The TV service lags multiple times a day and has a ton of other issues. I'd recommend getting another service as I can guarantee that theirs will be a shit ton better. read more

Horrible, horrible service. Their customer service is by far the worst. Crazy long waits to speak to someone and when they do pick up you find yourself back on hold. I have been having quite a few issues with constant freezing and technical/troubleshooting. After trying on many occasions to contact and resolve these issues I still get shitty service. This takes the cake, they give a specific time frame to call every month to change billing/withdrawal dates, which I have been doing every month. After switching the date, a little bit of a week later I check my account and noticed a withdrawal. These idiots withdrew from my account charging me extra for the next month. They were not authorized to take any money till 2weeks later ( the date I gave them). After being on the phone with them for 4 days trying to resolve this mess and return that money and schedule another day for withdrawal, which they agreed to oh and waiting for service calls good luck. No call. After calling back to find out the progress and find out when I will get that refund, the rep pretty much calls me a liar and tells me there was no service calls scheduled, no one spoke to me telling me I will get that refund and nothing logged in the computer that says I spoke to anyone on those days I specified to them. Those in which were all logged in my phone. I finally after many years with these idiots I cancelled my account with them and they won't issue my refund only a quarter of what they owe me will be sent to me. i started having trouble now it has been a week. my internet would stop daily at least 4-8 times and called and talked to many agents but most of them did not find a solution and only the senior technicians are really trained and reasonable..but before you can go through hell! because they do not care. they are not accountable for their actions! plus you never speak to a so called supervisor never! so no accountability except for the senior techs. i waited 1 hour on the phone today with 1 very bad agent, a very bad reeptionist who transferred me to again general agents when i clearly told her to give me senior (all happening at 8.20 on and finished at 9.35 pm) then wait over 20 min for the wrong agent who kept saying yes mam and then screwed me again with another lie that the senior agent was going to take a minute but took another 10-15 minutes! they just do not care but it is about time that they harvest from this very bad attitude!. the agent who first tried to solve my issue tried t tell me to find another power outlet! when their motorola and the dlink are all powered from same sourse and the motorola stops but dlinks still works ..it does not take a techniician to know that this is not a power supply issue but a distributel issue but he hangs up on me says that i have to test and follow their orders so call again an\d get a reasonable senior agent who will now take motoral back to repair!. i have asked him for a credit for all the abusive waiting on the phone and bad very bad customer service and technical service! i have never seen such a bunch of non caring team! except for 411. it is not worth it to go through these waits on the phone when they do not even bother to call back and get messages!!! they also cut my service when i had told me them not to since i decided to stay longer and lost 6 days of service then they forget to give me the discount! and still have to argue about that again!!! it was traumatic. read more

After canceling our service with Distributel they said they will send a box for us to put the Router in. We never got the box so we called. Again we were told that the will send a box. This scenario happened a few other times. We tries to call of many occasions but it takes at least 25-35 minutes to speak to a french agent since they say that if the account is in french only a french agent can talk to us... After many failed attempts to reach an agent we forgot about that. Back to the present i get a letter saying i have been put in collection for a Router that was not returned. We call and we are finally able to speak to someone who again promises to send a tag for the return. We got the tag today and called Distributel to make sure we were doing it right only to have agent say to us that unfortunately since it's been 1 Year we cannot send back the router. (This is after they send us the tag to ship back). We call back again to try to get to a supervisor and this time the agent tells us a whole different story. New Story: You had a contract to buy the router so the debt that you have is not because you didnt send it back but because you agreed to buy it!?!? We have been told so many things by so many agents and meanwhile our names are in Collection for 200$ that we do not owe. We even asked to listen to the call that took place when we canceled the service to prove that the agent said that we will not be charged anything and again impossible to listen to it. read more

I was considering moving my SIP trunk to Distributel/thinktel (just rebranded their business services)...I called but nobody was available on their sales line so I left a message on their voicemail for a call back (with my companies email as well)....a week later nobody had contacted us back....I called again but sales was failing over to what I suspect was tech support (which was during the week mid day) I was told that they could only take my number and have someone call be back in 24-48 hours....I declined...I at the same moment used their website to leave my contact details in their sales portal.....still nobody had contacted us back......trust me if it's this hard to get someone to take your money, they won't work keep it once they have it..........we are probably going to move our trunks to primus, so far they answered the phone quickly, and were pretty polite. read more

Unbelievably terrible customer service. You will be on hold for HOURS any time you have to call for anything. Always the same excuse that they have an "unusually high" number of calls that day. After a few years of this I refused to waste another minute of my life on hold with Distributel and decided to cancel. Now they disconnect my call after I finally reach someone and explain I want to cancel. And they "can't accept" cancellation requests on their chat service. Lovely - now I have to waste more hours of my life just trying to get rid of them. Please do yourself a favour and avoid this company. read more
