Been a Distributel customer since 2017 and let me tell you - absolute garbage service is an understatement. Connection is so unreliable - ESPECIALLY AT PEAK HOURS - that I cannot stay connected to a game, or even have a voice chat or stream a show without the connection dropping every 30-300 seconds. No exaggeration. Customer Service can't do a thing because Distributel doesn't own any lines and they are so cheap that they don't ever want to call the technicians from the companies that DO own the lines to do work. Nor do they actually escalate support tickets to those companies half the time because if they did, I wouldn't be here right now after months of unreliable internet with intermittent net drops for absolutely no reason at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NOT WORTH IT. read more

I ordered internet service from Distributel (Ebox) communications on Mar 2025. But they can't install the equipment as promised because no cable connection to my home. Meanwhile, they already charged on my MC $65 for first month??? I have to cancel the service dues to have to wait for cable internet connection to my home and was told I have to return the modem back to them in order for them to refund my money . I did returned the equipment back to them the next day.... Until now June, my money haven't refund, don't hear from Distributel (Ebox)... Please be careful to deal with these companies read more

This is a dog shit company with terrible internet. The connection constantly drops, the speeds are unstable, and the monthly fees are ridiculously expensive for such awful service. Calling this company "garbage" doesn't even begin to describe how bad it is. read more

Worst internet. Worst internet ever . When I signed with Distributel , I had good internet for couple of weeks and after that settings were changed and to open an email I had to reboot the system every 10 minutes . Never able to watch a movie or simply surf the web. I'm paying for a Fibre internet 500 mbps , but never got more than 20-30mbps. Most of the times the speed was below 2mbps. I'm keeping the speed test files to prove my words. Costumer service is helpless. Instead of fixing the problem, they are constantly trying to sell me some additional equipment or make me download useless apps . Once they told me I had to buy new computer with telephone jack !!?!?. I will never recommend Distributel to anyone. Worst of the worst. read more

Random disconnections EVERY DAY, sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row for the 3 years I was with them. I'm on my 3rd router/modem because their model is garbage. Being close to it gave me migraines as it makes annoying noise. When I called to get the last one replaced, some guy called Mohammed who had people praying in the background so loud I could hear it sent it to the wrong address and someone stole it and I had to call the cops to get it back. I was not offered a discount for the 5 days I had to go on without connection. He probably sent it to the wrong address because he couldn't hear properly because of all the background noise... A few years ago, I was in a worst financial situation and called them to make a deal. It went through. Or so I thought. When payment date came, the same amount was withdrawn from my account regardless. I got a bill for non-sufficient funds of 45$. I had to eat ramen for days. Sign up with this company if you enjoy talking to call centers in Egypt who basically have no clue what they're doing and make mistakes over and over again. I called to tell them the current modem/router I have is starting to fail as all the LEDS except for one doesn't work anymore and the signal is getting worse and worse everyday (our Chromecast won't even connect anymore) and I was told, rather rudely, they wouldn't replace it "because your Internet connection is still online." Way to play on words. If your equipment I PAY FOR EVERY MONTH is having issues, IT'S YOUR JOB TO REPLACE IT OR FIX IT. I just canceled with them, going with Cogeco, and the Fatima girl on the phone said I had until April to return the equipment. Then an e-mail came in and it said March. Way to go, Fatima. Can't even read dates properly. This is what happens when a garbage company ran by garbage people want to invest AS LITTLE MONEY as possible and off-shoot the work to call centers in poor countries. Sure it gives work to people over there but in the end you get garbage service. Did I mention how many times I had to end my stream on Twitch because I got disconnected in the middle of a boss fight and viewers got pissed? Or how many times my Internet went down for hours and had to wait it out because I was told "We don't see anything on our end, it must be a local problem." while the equipment was unresponsive? Or that I can't even watch YouTube in 1080p because it keeps buffering and nothing works unless I set it to 408p? In 2023???? Signing up with Cogeco was a call that took 10 minutes. 10 minutes and it was done. Canceling with Distributel took TWO HOURS because the signal was so poor, they had to call me back twice. Signal was still poor and I could barely understand the person on the line. If you value your quality of life and sanity, STAY AWAY FROM DISTRIBUTEL. Everyone else leaving bad reviews here is right. This company is the WORST. read more

It is a big mistake I switch the home internet service to Distributal. The instalment date was rescheduled for a few time even I told them clearly when I was available. After finally it is installed, but the internet didn't active for 3 days. Initially I was told to wait for a few hours. I don't know why we have to wait. It should work immediately. if I read these reviews, I wouldn't switch it. Distrubutal customer service is very bad. They don't resolve any problems for you. NOT RECOMMEND IT !! read more

Terrible service and customer service reps are also poorly mannered. I calmly explained my issue and how I spent a lot of time going back and forth with them in the past and the agent on the other line started raising their voice and getting very impolite. The tone on their voice was not very appreciative when I was explaining the issues I had with them. They don't listen and get upset when you bring up how poor their services are. The agent got very defensive as well so I just cancelled to save my time and money. read more

Very poor customer service. Cancelled order been provided with Canada post return label even though they're on strike. Modem delivered by Pululator during postal strike, but couldn't provide me with Pululator return sticker. Agent basically told me that was my problem and I have to wait till Canada post stile is over until I can do the return. I offered to pay for Pululator return but they advised me not to. read more

I find there honest told me there was a lot of interference here not with them. I find it a little long for help but id rather have honesty than excuses and lies from videotron and others. To be honest the add ons might be a little steep in price also but the packages are not so bad to begin with. Its the hackers that are the problem not them. Keep up the good work cause it is not easy to compete with the big boys. read more

Very very poor communication tech didn't show up to job had to call 6 times to reschedule and even after talking to manager and rescheduling they still didn't show up went without internet for 1 month and job is on the line now they promised to send tech to fix temporary line and still no one showed up. I canceled the service no body go with these guys. read more

That company sabotages itself. I spent so much time to ensure they could provide me the service and told me they sent the modem to me. One day before the activation: still no modem. So I called them and the operator told me they could not provide the service (?!!). So the operator forwarded the call to another department to sort it out (and get a refund) but after 10min I'm still waiting... read more

They chage me after I already cut my services with them because they promised 400 mbt and i got 80mbt when tested. When I reach them they said I have to wait while they took my money without my authorization after three week that I cut ties with them! read more

I've had internet with Distributel for years and it is great, however I purchased their basic TV package, and it uses an app called "Total TV" which does not work for recording shows: a large percentage (20%) of shows I record do not play back: it says "This content cannot be played", with no error number or debugging information, making it very hard to debug. I opened a support ticket and have heard nothing for a week. If they stuck to internet only I'd give it five stars: why offer TV service if they cannot support it? read more

I have to say I am appalled with the customer experience with distributel on many fronts I was scheduled to have internet installed the day I arrived in a new city. I was given a time window to expect internet On the day of no one had contacted me until 1 hour before the window closed. I then phoned them of my own volition and it came to light no technician was coming to my apartment and that it would all be done remotely. When I didnt have the right type of plugin already (we had a fiber optic line already in the place) they then suggested I pay a private contractor so that they could install the plugin I needed for distributel so that they could then bill me. In trying to cancel I was hung up on 3 times. Finally i was able to cancel after roughly 40 minutes of trying. I then phoned bell who installed internet with almost no notice the very next day. There was no issue. In summary choose a different company as reliability and transparency are the traits you need in an internet company and distributel proved they do not have either read more

If i could do less than 1 star I would. The internet connection was horrible for the last 2 years, to a point where I had to share my phone's internet to make sure my zoom meetings were not interrupted. When I finally decided to cancel services, then they offered a lower price and faster internet, the cancellation process was super frustrating as the agents all gave me different information. I do not recommend this provider. read more

Whatever you do, do NOT ever use this company. We tried to talk to them for six months about our television and Internet service, and after countless hours on the phone, and on email, the problems were never resolved. I begged customer service to send someone to fix the issues, but they always gave us the runaround. After canceling my payments, they sent it off to collections, without EVER trying to contact me to work it out. I really hoped they would get in touch and FINALLY resolve the technological difficulties, and then we could have discussed what would be fair payment, in light of all the hours and headache they cost me. I have never encountered such useless customer service in my life. read more

To all who are thinking about signing up with this company beware there are good reason as to why so many bad reviews. I was going to sign up with them until I read all the bad reviews and none good ones. I signed up and after 30 minutes I changed my mind and cancel. Wouldn't you figure less than 48 hours they delivered the model which I call them and asked why they did that, was told sale office didn't see the cancellation. Okay, so now I returned the model which the tracking show they received I been told its going to take 2 weeks to received my refund , this is not acceptable. Any good company once you return an item it usually takes 3 business to see the refund. I'm glad I didn't signed up with them. read more

I had to hang up on this misfit, because I was not allowed to talk, and was told that if had too many questions and not ready to sign up, rightnow, that I should have stayed with my last internet provider, Primus.... As others have indicated the rating system doesn't have a zero or for that matter a -10. If you got this far run away. Don't even think about signing up with Distributel. Their service is fraught with numerous technical issues. Drop outs in video, days where there feed was dropped with no reason given. And if you ask, they'll give you a refund for that day. Really worthwhile after a 1/2 hour with customer service. I had to constantly plug and unplug the modem when it would indicate I was out of storage so it would recognize there was still lots of room. Want to watch and record at the same time? Sure but random portions of the recording will be dropped. Customer service is offshore. They work from a script and once your problem is off-script they are useless. Escalate to management? Sure, but they are unavailable and will call you back. Do they call back? Sure, about 25% of the time. I was paying automatically with my credit card. My card expired and my new card had a different date. I didn't keep track of whether the Distributel payment was still going through. My bad! I get a disconnection notice. WTF I say to myself. I call to straighten things out. I pay up to date and fix the expiry date. All back to normal? Hardly! I get another email with instructions on how to send back their equipment. Back to contacting the call center. Yep all's good we'll fix the issue. 5 days later my Internet is off. Rogers was the service provider and was instructed to disconnect. Sooooo in the midst of the Covid Pandemic they dropped my service. Back to contacting their call center. WTF? I say. Oops she says we'll get you reconnected that will be $60 for reconnect. WTF? I say. Not going to pay it! Ok, she says we'll drop the charge, you seem to have done all the right things. So when will I get reconnected, I say? In a week she says. WTF? I say. Please don't use that language she says or I am obliged to hang up. You're right, I'm sorry I say, this is a stressful time with social isolation and all. I know you are the call center for an uncaring and evil company and I would love to vent to them but they have a very thick wall between you and them. Yes, she says, our group here has brought issues up with our management many times, 4 hours later I eventually talk to a Distributel employee in Ottawa. How did I get that connection you may well ask? I called Rogers, honest to god, and they connected me. Once again I explained my conundrum. The Distributel guy said I'm so sorry we dropped the ball. In fact we have a policy not to disconnect during the Pandemic. So, I ask, can you get me reconnected earlier. Keep in mind the Rogers guy said he could have me reconnected in 2 days. Yep he says, how about Sunday (5 days versus the previous 7). Still doesn't work for me can you connect me with management? Sure, he says, I'll have management call you. Did I say run away? Please don't sign up with these freaks. read more

I have had nothing but issues with our Internet, mostly service related. 1. Opened the account to my house. They called four times saying there was an address issues and asked for the unit number. I assured them it was a house and there had not been a unit number in the 10+ years we lived in the house. 2. When the account was opened, we were asked where the line came into the house. I said "basement" the lady asked me where the basement was located. "Under the house" I replied. Took 5 times for her to understand. 3. Called one Saturday for an issue at around 9:15am only to hear a message they are closed and to call after 9am when they open. 4. Moved the internet to a new house and gave two months notice. Day of, we are expecting the technician to come between 8-10am. I call at 10:30 and the rep tells me they must be stuck in traffic and ends the call. Call back at 11:30 and am told they are not coming. No reason given, rescheduled to 5 days later. At this point, I am still waiting for them to come to the new house. Going to see how this all plays out, but I can say that if they think I am paying an install fee and for the weeks we are without internet, they are sorely mistaken. To be continued... read more

"I was paying for 25Mbps the entire time but only actually getting 6mbps.It wasn't until I switched to VMedia and ran the speed test on both ISP's that I discovered that I was being scammed the whole time,and they make it almost impossible to cancel since it can only be done by phone and the waiting times in a que for any type of support are often 30 minutes or more,don't trust this company!! For what it's worth I signed up with VMedia for the 6mbps package and am now paying almost half of what I used to for the same service,it's fine and they actually answer their phones there." read more

When you call, the reps pick up, and place themselves on mute hoping you hang up. They're so unprofessional, but some are nice others have an attitude while you're being polite. The internet is unreliable, it crashes every other day, sometimes multiple times a day and even hours at a time. I lost a job because they told me I had high speed, and was paying for high speed. I kept testing the speed but it wasn't meeting my employer's requirements. I called everyday for two weeks and they said I was wrong. I would stay on the phone, in the queu from 8am - 4pm. After two weeks a technician admitted, it was in fact called high speed but not high speed. Reps explained I had to pay more for real high speed, I agreed. Turns out I would have to wait two weeks for a technician to do this in person. So I was fired. I've since called over 15 times about the slow and crashing internet. One day a rep assertively informed me that there's no record of this and it seems, I've always been satisfied with their services. read more

I would like to start by saying Horrible horrible service. It took almost 10 days to get the Internet .they don't tell you they are the third party and when they give you the payment amount they don't mention tax so you find out after when you see your payments and this is for people has low income. The modem and WI-FI its not even that strong you leave your room to front of your house no internet 10.00 dollars for this garbage then I called ,another 10.00 for wi-fi pod ,, so they took money every month for nothing . No wonder, they removed their location from Google maps!! In my four years in Canada, this is by far the worst Internet provider ever, they lure into that very cheap offer and then you wait many weeks to get this lame service. Did I tell you that their internet was more like Dial up!!! Honestly, they should bankrupt. they even threaten you on the phone when you ask to cancel the service because you're simply tired of having a horrible service! Would like to rate 0 if I can, my internet service provider was originally with Xinflix until Distributel bought the company, our account transfered to this garbage company. Price went up with out notice, Loyal customer for many year, we had an old modem doesn't support the new internet speed, so they trying to force us to purchase the new expensive modem to get promotion discounted internet service. Signed up for this service this month because they were cost effective. However, the customer service to get my modem was just abysmal. The modem took over a week to transfer so I had no internet for a week. I had to call again to get a credit for the week I had no internet. If they had warned me that this was going to happen, I would have prepared myself for having no internet. read more

Signed up for Internet and TV. Technician showed up to connect cable. After he left I discovered he had STOLEN my splitter. 3 hours with Technical support TV still did not work. Tried to cancel service after only ONE day. 4 service representatives hung up the phone when I said I wanted to cancel. When I finally reached someone who said he would help- he promised to send an return authorization and complete refund. 3 days later NOTHING!!! Look up the word SHYSTER in the dictionary you will see Distributel's logo. One star is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more than they deserve, if I could I would give them negative 99. read more

I called them for service but cancelled 1 hour later. Received no service or product but months later they are attempting to force me to pay them $150. They assured me when I cancelled that they would not attempt to bill me. They are liars and using a collection service against me without even contacting me. Worst experience. I tried to get an ongoing issue with my television. I gave the tech rep all the necessary information to troubleshoot properly. He asked me to check on the box upstairs, that was working and the lights attached to it. I advised him that that's impossible as it's behind a bunch of things and I wouldn't be able to get behind there. He then said he couldn't guarantee that my TV will work again. I asked for some type of reimbursement but he said that I wasn't entitled to one (as I guess, I'm not a good customer or special enough.) He then refused to let me speak with management. I had to call back to speak with customer service, however, they refused any assistance as they said they couldn't transfer me to tech supervisor. The TV still isn't working. read more

I've been a loyal Distributel client for a while, renting my cable modem which recently became unstable (have to reboot everyday) , so they kindly got a new cable modem shipped... Now, get ready for this... I've been down since yesterday (Friday) because their ''customer friendly'' processes perform the modem swap immediately, in other words: BEFORE the new modem has even arrived! I was told by their representative that my service is down because the swap was already processed in their systems AND that I must now patiently wait another 3days (until next Tuesday) as the expected Canada post's delivery is next Tuesday. Thought this was impossible in 2017... 5 days with no service because they can't manage a very simple modem swap! Wow! I am speechless. Good job Distributel! read more

I am writing this review to warn business owners and anyone considering using Distributel's services. I had a horrible experience that should serve as a cautionary tale. I was contacted by Distributel regarding a modem, an outdated $100 piece of equipment that I had forgotten to return. The situation was handled poorly from the start. When I initially spoke with their customer service, I asked for a brief and to-the-point conversation since I was busy running my business. Instead of being respectful, I was spoken to in the most condescending and aggressive manner. The representative was rude and dismissive, which made the whole experience even worse. When I called back to try to resolve the issue and discuss the situation further, they hung up on me. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially when you're dealing with a small business owner who's just trying to make things right. To make matters worse, they involved a collection agency over a $100 modem and were demanding $600, which is absurd. Their customer service and collections practices are unprofessional and completely disrespectful. If you let things slide for even a moment, be prepared to be treated horribly. I highly advise any business owner--or anyone, for that matter--not to use Distributel's services. Their customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with, and their treatment of customers is appalling. It's not worth the risk of being mistreated. read more

Beware of Distributel Communications a nightmare being unable to provide internet as promised and a severe lack of customer service! April 2014, 5 days out of service. It cost me $35 on cell time waiting on hold, I spent hours on the donut shop's wi-fi trying to reach them. Took me about 5-7 hours to get a hold of them with much inconvenience and financial loss - we need our internet. Service "rep"? offers me a "private password" as the 1st part of the solution. (sick joker to boot) Next he tries to hustle me to spend more time on my cell trying to service their system. Goodbye and good riddance Distributel Communications Ltd.l!!! read more

Internet providers are notoriously bad, but Distributel is the worst piece of shit company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They don't even know how to communicate among their employees and technicians properly. I have spent countless frustrating hours dealing with their incompetence over the phone. I could sooner get working internet service from my own testicles than I could from Distribute-Hell. For the love of Mary, Joseph, and Sweet Newborn Fresh Baby Jesus, please do not let this company try to keep YOU company. read more

The number 647-794-0528 is being used to attempt to defraud people by claiming to be be from Visa's Fraud Department. A reverse phone lookup call reveals that it is a Distributel number. I hope they will look into the fraudulent use of their communications network, read more
