Discount Tire in Early is the only place I go for tires. Every single employee I've ever dealt with has been courteous, respectful, professional, and thorough. They take a genuine interest in their customers, and it shows in everything they do. Today, I stopped by to have a flat looked at. As quickly as the tire had deflated, I figured I'd probably need a brand new tire. This was on a new vehicle with about 11,000 miles on it. They ended up plugging/patching the hole, balanced it, aired up the other tires, reset the computer and returned the spare to its place up under the chassis. They charged me nothing!! On July 29, 2023, at approximately 5:44p.m. Ctrl Time, I called Discount Tire Regional Office which is supposedly in Albuquerque New Mexico. After sharing my experience about a Discount Tire Store in Early Texas (West Texas) with a person by the name of Katie, who answered the phone @505-797-7100. Katie referred me to Kevin the Regional Office Vice President in Albuquerque New Mexico. Today, I called at approximately 4:42p.m. for Kevin's full name. I was told by Katie, "she's not at liberty to give out their names." At approximately 4:46p.m, I received a telephone call from the same number I called, and then, the caller disconnected. After a brief inquiry, I finally found the last name who claimed to be the Regional Office Vice President for Discount Tire in Albuquerque New Mexico. I was told by an employee with Discount Tire his name is Kevin Coggins, and he is the Assistant to the Vice President Regional Office in Albuquerque New Mexico. After speaking with Kevin. (He gave me an ultimatum to remove the Review on Yelp, and then, he'll restore the condition of my vehicle.) This individual who is identified as Kevin Coggins, along with the person, who answered the phone by the name of Katie sounds egregiously cruel and sick, when they are fully aware both are violating Consumer Protection Rights, among inhibiting safety as a result of reporting inexperienced people at the location in Early Texas. My impression: The number seems to be set-up similar to call forwarding using an area code and prefix designated, however, in Albuquerque New Mexico. This action is similar to spoofing techniques. I cannot see, how a person fitting the description of a sane human being is placed in a position to obstruct the safety of innocent lives by inhibiting imperative information for the sake of a very small community. Yelp, I ask for absolutely nothing in return. However, I have served Brown County in various places and times in effort to protect vulnerable Seniors and the Elderly including significantly other people with disabilities. On our road trip from Austin Texas to Seattle we swung in to get the tire pressure on our fully loaded 28' cargo trailer checked. The team hopped right on it. Luke discovered that the idiot who installed the tires elsewhere used 60# valve stems in 80# tires. Said he could swap the two wrong stems out quickly for us if we had the time. Absolutely we said and it was done in no time. Thrilled to get back on the road safer than when we left, Luke refused to charge us for the work. WAY TO GO Luke! Gone several times because it's right down the road. My only issue is everytime I have used them I have had issues with my tire and they have to redo it again. If they would take the time to do it right the first time would save the company money. I work in QA so figured I know a thing or two about cutting cost to be more efficient. Customers always double check the work they preforme, or risk spending more time and money. I recommend you take pictures of your tire build date it's on the sidewalk of the tire. I have had 33s mounted improperly in the past and wrong tires as well. Obviously mistakes happens and I'm sure for the most part they do a fine job. Bit no reason for me to go back time and time again for simple mistakes. Do it right the first time and avoid issues or improve training for the technician. Maybe invest in vending machines for customers that will be in the waiting areas for a good while. Just simple things to accommodate customer. read more

Worst tire shop. They mess up every time I ask them to do work. They mounted directional tires backwards. They ruined one of my new alloy wheels with hammer on weights after being specifically instructed to use sticky weights. They inflated one of my tires to 96psi (should be 30) and let me drive on it. I only found out after arriving home and checking tire pressures. They mounted a full set of tires on new wheels without moving the tpms sensors over even though the work order stated to do so in caps. these are all different work orders on different days. I've never had a good experience at Brownwood Discount tire. It's such a simple service.. I don't understand how they mess it up every single time. read more

Two weeks ago I brought my car to Discount Tire because I had a slow leak in my left front tire. For some reason they fixed my left rear. I didn't know until I got the receipt, and it was too late to go back. My left front tire is still leaking, so on my way to work, I gave them a call. I was told to bring it in, they'd get right on it. I got there by the time I told them I would. I waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to help me, and when they did I was told they couldn't get it out until maybe 1 pm. I had to be³ at work and told the salesman as much, and he then told me I'd be lucky to be out by 1. I tried to tell him I'd spoken with someone, but he'd already moved on to someone buying something. I quite loudly on my way to the door voiced my opinion on how I was treated. No sooner got to my car than another employee shows up at my car, "are you Susan?" I asked, "Clay?" He and I both said yes, and he asked if he could take my car since I had an appointment (the other guy didn't even check). Clay took my car, fixed the tire, and had me out by 11:15. Clay was wonderful, from now on I will only deal with Clay. Especially when I buy my next 2 tires. read more

I wish I'd gotten the guy's name who helped me, but I failed to do so. I'd made an appointment to drop my tires of my 4-wheeler off at Discount Tire in Early, to have each patched. I returned an hour later to pick them up - all 4 had been patched as each had a small hole in them. When I went to pay, the guy said, "No charge, ma'am." I was floored! This place can use some improvement with it's customer service. One Tuesday ordered a set of 4 tires from this location and was told that they would probably be in Friday. On Friday at noon I called about the tire order and was told that they had not come in yet and that I would get a call when they came in. Friday, around 5pm I called to see if they had arrived and let the folks know that I would be in the next day for a refund. My problem is the service tech thought the tires were coming from Dallas but kept me in the dark when he learned they were coming in from Georgia or another place and couldn't tell about when the would be in. Did have tires put on from Wal-Mart Auto Center. Not only did they have my tires available and had them on in less than 2 hours but got to save some money too. read more

I want to say this location went above and beyond to help my wife out with tire purchase. We ordered a set of tires for my wife's car with a 60k mileage warranty and it showed the tires to be coming in on Thursday. (ordered Tuesday I believe) My wife got there on Friday morning after confirming Thursday they had come in. They immediately let her know one tire was labeled incorrectly when they got it so they only had 3 of that tire now. They said the other one would be in today but it would be later but instead of making her wait they offered another set of tires that cost a little bit more and had 80k mileage warranty. I don't believe they needed to do this I think we would have been fine with a discount or some cash back for not having the promised tire on time but they decided instead to not waste her time and just get it taken care of at their expense. I have always had great service here until last week. I was very disappointed in the service. After waiting over an hour they didn't have the tires in stock even when they showed they did. They had even taken the tires off my car before they found out. I was told they would order them, which they did, and was told they would make it right. Well I had expected a discount, or speedy service or something to MAKE IT RIGHT. But no... After waiting over an hour and 45 minutes, I finally get my car done. I Used to be a VERY loyal customer - 20 years of shopping with them at locations all over the country and almost always getting road hazard.... NO MORE! I stopped in at the Early (Brownwood) location with a tire on a rim that had tread separation (Goodyear of course). It was a 205/55-r16. I needed another one put on the rim because the car has all wheel drive (99 Mercedes E320) The car was on the side of the road. I asked to buy the same size tire, but the sales agent insisted on knowing the car make and model and then proceeded to tell me it was 'unsafe'. I'm an engineer and I know that putting a different sized tire on an all wheel drive care is much more dangerous and will destroy the drivetrain. I also know that all passenger car tires are load range D (this is NOT AN SUV) - and the differences in that range are insignificant. MERCEDES actually does recommend both 205/55 and 215/55 for that car and rim combo. Afterwards, I checked and found that among 25 or so different brands and in these sizes, a range of 1279 to 1384 pounds. Keep in mind these pound ratings are NOT failure points but rather the tested failure points discounted by a factor ranging from 33 to 50%.... all depending on the engineers and management's mindsets. This SANCTIMONIOUS (and yes thats the right term) kid proceeded to lecture ME, a real engineer on this.... I had a dead car on the side of the road. I didn't need some tire nazi refusing to sell me a tire at 4:45 PM on a Saturday in the middle of Texas. THANK GOD, I found a tire store a few miles down the road that was willing to make a last sale of the day. The old mechanic found my story quite amusing and related a few similar ones - and told me the kid was full of S____. And he's been selling tires for over 30 years. Anyway, I can see trying to upsell, I can even see trying to educate a customer. But there is a time to STFU. I can see refusing to sell road hazard on the tire - but sell the tire. One star is giving this place more credit that it deserves, I thought I had scored when I drove up and ZERO cars in bays or in the lot. I came to get a tire balance and rotate since I had about an hour before a business meeting I was in town for on 5/10/17. I have never seen a Discount Tire that does not have any customers in the store in the 20 years of doing business with them. I can tell you that I now understand why, this place was the messiest DT store I have ever seen, would have thought that since there were no customers that the broom could be doing its business since no one else was. After getting my car in and out in no doubt record time that NASCAR DT drivers Brad Keselowski or Joey Logano would have been proud of. Within 20 minutes I stopped to get a soda and discovered a center cap missing. I went back to again an empty store and talked to Cody Miller whom took care of me when I first came in. I told him my problem and he checked in back and the center cap was not there and must have fallen off. Cody was nice and said he would get me a new cap and send it to me in Austin where I live. A week goes by and a cap showed up that must have came from craigslist because it scratched up pretty good. I called to thank Cody and let him know I was not satisfied with the cap since none of my other caps look like that. Cody said again he would get a new cap and I asked from the dealer, he said yes. A month goes by and I called to inquire about the cap and Cody found it in the backroom and thought that it was already mailed to me. Again a craigslist cap or one that was pried off a car in a parking lot. I am still loyal to Discount Tire just not this store. It is true what they say about the management makes a difference, this one does not care enough and needs the district managers attention.
