They have an easy online appointment process. This really sped up the service time. I had about a 15 minute wait before my appointment started, but the manager apologized for the delay. They have 6-8 people "Selling" you tires when you walk in and literally 2 people actually working on vehicles. we called ahead and told there was no wait - weve been here nearly 2 hours and our car hasn't moved. all the customers that we saw leave have come back already with problems. save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

My Tire pressure light came on for the last three days, I made an appointment Sunday night for Monday at 1230 pm for them to check for a possible nail in my tire. Because of where the nail was located it couldn't be patched and I ended up needing a new tire. Customer service was amazing, they kept me informed about the status of my car through their text message system, one of the workers went around the room asking if we needed water, if we were good. I've been buying tires from Discount Tires for many years and have always enjoyed their straight forward, professional way of doing business. Today I went to have my tires rotated and before they pulled my car in and inspected the tires, they asked if I wanted to have them do a $90 alignment. I asked why, all the years I had been using them, that they never asked that before and he said it was because they just "barely" started doing them. I asked if it was so important, why had they never mentioned it was something I should be doing and again, and at least 5 more times, he repeated because they "barely started doing them". He was completely unable, or unwilling to answer my question. I talked to a mechanic who said that you don't need regular front end alignments; you only need them in case of an accident or hitting a deep pothole. And in fact, inexperienced front end mechanics can do far more damage by not knowing what they're doing. We called back after I got home and talked to Connor who said that I needed front end work because my tires were wearing unevenly, then we told him that they suggested it even before looking at the tires. I checked the air pressure of the tires on my car's console before the tires were rotated, one was correct, the other three were low, and none of them were the same psi. After the work was done I checked again and they were exactly the same, so they didn't even check the air pressure, making me wonder if they balanced the tires. Very poor service. read more

I have used Discount Tire for years. The last time I purchased 4 new tires they failed to balance them correctly. This caused severe shaking . I had to really get aggressive and go to several locations to get my tires balanced. The DeSoto location never managed it. It was finally fixed by a location in Oak Cliff days later. It wasted tons of my time . Fast forward five years and I go in and purchase two new tires last week. My front end is shaking at highway speeds. I figured that the incompetent idiot that messed up my truck 5 years ago would have been fired by now honestly but apparently I was wrong. Do they train their employees to balance tires at this location? I checked the tire pressure and it's the same all the way around. I guess that's all they do. Thank you for making me feel stupid for trusting your brand. Now I will be forced to return and wait longer than I should to have them install my new tires correctly. Shame on this sorry company and their incompetent or lazy employees. They never pass up and opportunity to cut corners and destroy their own brand along with the new tires you just paid a fortune for. read more

I was told my Rim Repair would take 1 business day because they had to use an outside facility for the repair. I dropped it off Monday afternoon and as delays and issues started to arise on their end I was never made aware and they failed to communicate with me. Wednesday pick up day came and I was left expecting to pick up my car that was not ready due to Rim paint/color match issues which I was ONLY made aware of after I had to call THEM. I was told it would be ready Thursday. Thursday pick up day came and I called only to be told it would be Friday since it still wasn't ready. I went off! Bottom line is they failed to communicate delays and issues with me and the line of communication was one-way which was unacceptable. They ended up having my car from Monday-Friday for the Rim Repair and charged me half the cost for my frustration with their lack of communication. Discount Tire in Desoto has been my tire place for years. For a couple decades, at least. Fast, fast fast. Reliable to the nth degree. And then there's this! There has been construction along the I-35 corridor for 25 years and that's an increased number of worn tires; but certainly a number of nail perforations. Somehow they end up in my tires on a regular basis and Discount Tires patch the leaks over and over because I purchased this certificate. The certificate is available for purchase at the time you buy your tires: "If a tire covered by the Certificate for Repair, Refund or Replacement fails due to a defect or a non repairable road hazard, and still has legal tread (3/32") remaining across the tire, and it has been in use less than 3 years from date of purchase, Discount Tire will give a refund of the full purchase price, together with the applicable sales tax and give you the option to purchase the same new or comparable tire at the refund price, with the payment of any applicable sales tax." If you live where there's construction, this certificate for repair, refund or replacement is terrific. It was around $15 a tire. I don't know what it is now. I've already had one tire replaced over the years and so has my husband in addition to the countless number of nail perforations. Of course they'll check your tires anytime and air them up without the certificate. The waiting times are never lengthy, the waiting rooms are large with clean restrooms and free bottled water. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and garage staff treat your vehicle well. I'm a happy customer! read more

Another great experience at this location of Discount Tire. I developed a slow leak in on of my tires from a construction screw. Employee Josh was very pleasant, professional and provided excellent customer service. He acted like he loved his job and was very comfortable dealing with the public (I noticed his interactions with other customers). As a retired person, customer service is very important to me now. I took my vehicle in for service this morning and had a great experience. This was my first time in the store and despite having a very full house of customers, I was greeted professionally and the service person listened to my service request. As I waited, I observed that all service reps treated all customers the same way. Before and after service they look you in the eye, listen to your concerns or questions, then give their responses. It is always interesting to sit and watch how service people deal with customers. It also lets me know what to expect if I have return to a business (I try to avoid those with bad customer service). Now that I am retired, customer service is very important to me. I am always surprised at how many companies do not emphasize customer service. It is usually an indication of poor management. I've used this location many times over the years and never had a complaint. Well, now I do. I went in for a simple rotation and balance today. Immediately the sales person went to check the mileage, but didn't. Instead he walked directly to my front drivers tire, that's 2-years-old, and said they can't rotate them unless I buy new tires. He kept pointing at an area that had mud from the road work I had just driven through and saying the tire is bad, it's dangerous for me to be on the road....blah blah blah. And more or less called me a liar about the tires only being two years old. I'm pretty sure I remember when I bought tires. He then pretended to go inside and see if they had the tires in the store, even though I told him I wasn't buying tires. I watched as he walked inside and stood there for a minute and came back out. Of course they didn't have them but he could get them. He never checked. Not that it would have mattered, I have fairly new tires already. I finally got fed up and just left. Set an appointment, arrived on time only to wait in line and wait longer than the people without an appointment. This location is the worst one I've ever dealt with on time management and quality service. Then the senior manager was feeding me bs for 5 mins about "I can't do nothing now, it's almost done". Beware when placing an order online if you're looking for specific tires. I ordered the specific set I wanted but when I showed up for the appointment they switched it up and said the one you ordered was discontinued (Michelin Premier LTX) but instead got Michelin Defender and try to convince you they are better tires. If your like me and did your research and picked out specific tires you wanted you may be disappointed when you arrive. I checked and made sure Michelin premiers were not discontinued. The least they could of done is notify me ahead of time and ask me prior to changing the order themselves in the backend. And I still see I can place orders for premiers on their website. The guys here are great. They've all been really nice to work with and the service is relatively fast. I had a 12noon appointment, but they didn't actually start on my vehicle until 12:30 or so. I think I was out by 1:15. I had to special order my tires from Falken, but they arrived way ahead of schedule (ordered Fri, delivered Mon) - which was great for me. Double check how the pricing breaks down, because he snuck the warranty onto my bill (on purpose or not, idk). I asked him, and he explained the coverage, but some people might not want to pay the extra $ per tire. read more

Scheduled an 8:30AM tire rotation & balancing. Arrived at 8:20AM & waited in line for 25min. Afterwards, I waited another 40min & my truck had not even been moved from its parking spot! Finally decided to complain about it & my truck was finally taken back. It's 9:51AM, more than an he after my initial appt & my tires are being worked on. They really need a better system at checking in appts & staying on top of them. Also, giving occasional updates would be nice. This way we, the customers, don't think u forgot about us or we can decide to leave if we can't stay & wait. Communication is key!!! Nonetheless, the front desk has been very polite & hard working. I usually go to walmart for my tires but they were down the day i came here. They referred me to this place and it was actually pretty fast considering all the business they get. The only issues i had was that they were only trying to sell me the highest priced tires. Good thing i was looking at the screen while the guy was scrolling through the tires i told him to just let me have the cheapest tire because cheap tires last as long as "good" tires. I also had an issue with the price tag, they charged me a whopping 30 dollars just for service... I came here about a week ago with what I thought was a slow leak. Since they offer free air checks I stopped by. There was a young kid who checked it and filled it up but informed me that I had a nail. I tipped him three bucks because I know some don't. I decided to get it patched. The black guy with glasses was really nice and said he recommended new back tires. He also said they were not too bad but not the best. I still opted for the patch and he said ok. Shortly after the GM came in and said he could not patch it because they were sooooo bad. I asked ok how much for the tires and he said $300 and something dollars. I told him I would have to go home and get my credit card and that I also wanted to get another opinion because as a female I have been taken advantage of before. Well that pissed him off. He walked out got my car down and pulled it out. As I walked up to him to try and explain my concern he just got out the car and walked up to another customer waiting. He did not say one word or even look my way. I got in my car, went and got the money, and went somewhere else. Come to find out I did need the new tires. I was actually shown that I actually had nails and wear on the inside. I've only had this experience at this location, I've never had a problem at any other discount tire. If they close at 6pm don't get there at 5:57pm regardless of your schedule.
