I have been researching vaping for the last couple of months and when I came across fatcat vape shop, I was very skeptical and hesitant due to the experiences I've been having at other vape shops, but when talking on the phone with John, I realize that this place cares about their customers and had wide knowledge of my questions and that was very impressive to me anyway awesome place if you're interested in transitioning from smoking to vaping these are the people to see they care they'll answer any questions you have and if they don't know, they will find out. The Swisher had $1.25 printed right on it, and mini Zig-Zags are usually around $1.50-$2. I've bought this exact combo at other shops for just a few dollars. Here, I was charged $11. Being rushed is one thing, but being overcharged that badly for basic items is another. I was hoping this would become my new local spot, but after this experience, don't think I'll be back.

He was speaking about "fucking muslims" and that his "Viking blood makes it hard to see people who look like they aren't even from here hitting women and shit". It wasn't even a passing comment, he continued on this gross rant until I decided to say "Y'know, this isn't the best conversation to be overhearing as I make my purchase". Then he mentioned something to the effect of "That's why I love working here. I can say what I want and they're cool with it". If what he says is true, and Paramount Imports is totally comfortable with their staff going on racist rants on the sales floor, then I am perfectly happy going somewhere else. I am just making this review so that others - particularly any Muslim people - stay away from this place. It's unfortunate, because it's an otherwise cool place.

When they moved to The Alameda, I still enjoyed the selection and the staff but I never felt comfortable hanging out in the lounge area. Donna always made me feel welcome in her shop, though. At the latest location, under Craig's ownership, I feel truly welcome and comfortable. It's such a nice store with an impressive selection. Then you add the comfortable outdoor lounge and the spacious indoor lounge and it is like a paradise! We only visit San Jose a few times a year and when we do, we try to find time to enjoy the space. This weekend, we visited on a Saturday. They had my favorite cigar (Tabernacle broadleaf double corona) and my husband and I secured comfortable chairs in the indoor lounge. It was a smaller crowd but just like last time, everyone said hi to us and as new regular customers arrived, they also greeted us. We met some new people, including Craig the owner, and had a lovely time reading (me) and watching sports. You think this place couldn't get any better but wait! They also have a sparkling clean bathroom. I'm already looking for another reason to travel to San Jose.
