Along with Italian and German wines, they sell a number of spirits, from various grappas, limoncellos, and other Italian liqueurs, to Black Forest Obstbrände. They also have fancy Italian sweets and honeys, olive oils, vinegars, pesto, and other Italian foods brought by car from Italy. Generally, you can taste much of what they sell. Quite recently, they even started offering espresso for EUR1 per cup. Not bad, especially for such a good espresso, definitely the best I've had in Freiburg! Of course, it's clear they offer it mainly to draw in potential customers, but it's worth trying. On top of all that, the two guys who usually work there, Adriano and Claudio, are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they sell in the store. You can come in and talk about what they have and they'll be happy to talk as long as you like. Truly a well run store with some great things to offer. And usually cheaper than the nearby Primo Market. Check them out!

Wanting to try the wine that they are famous for we searched out a place to sample. Several people suggested we try Hugel wines. We were greeted as soon as we entered by a friendly lady who offered us a chance to sample their wines. 2-3 tastes later we had picked out a bottle to take with us. The town it's self is decorated for the season and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I'm sure we will have fond memories of a great time when we open the bottle we picked up

Drexler's is a good store from which to buy wine -- but in my experience, only if you already know…read morethe wine. I've asked for recommendations several times -- twice on German wine, once for crémant (French bubbly not from Champagne), and once for cognac. The cognac was good, but none of the other recommendations suited my taste, and my taste is fairly broad. The prices usually aren't especially good either, but are generally not unreasonable. I know, from the above it sounds like I don't really like the place. But you can get some great wines here that might be hard to find elsewhere, like Camins del Priorat for EUR14 (or that's what it used to cost), an excellent priorat at an excellent price. The service is generally very friendly, and I like that they have so many wines on display in the window -- it's nice to be able to have a look from the outside without coming in uncomfortably without any real desire to buy something. So it's not my go-to place, but I'll have a look in the window to see if there's something I like which is always fun. And a place deserves to be recognized for being eye-candy, too. :-)

Our Belgium friends guided us to one of their favorite wineries in Colmar! Only 3 tastings per…read moreperson (FREE!), so we tried 6 different wines between the two of us! It was really tough to choose so few as they have so many different Alsatian wines! The 2 cremants were SPECTACULAR, especially for the price! Then, we moved onto 2 Rieslings and 2 Pinot Gris! I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed each one, and I can be quite snobby when it comes to wine. Our server was super friendly and helped guide us through our choices and answered any questions that we had. Her English was definitely better than our French, and much appreciated! We highly recommend this stop... and wolfberger doesn't just stop at wines... they make spirits, liqueurs, and even beer!!! Wow!!! Would buy a bit of each if we lived on this side of the Atlantic!!!

We were on the way home to Switzerland, did some shopping in E.Leclerc and passed this Boutique by accident. Couldn't resist but to stop by and get some more of the good stuff. As the one in Eguisheim this also is a very nice, stylish Boutique and tasting room. Friendly and helpful staff. Our Bulldog was welcome inside as well. We didn't do a tasting though this time, we had to get going. But we bought a sixpack of Wolfberger Pink Crémant. And a sixpack of the Brut Révèrence IX. An amazing Crémant. A bit more expenisve than the regular. But only a few Euros more. And worth it. This is outstanding Crémant. It's not easily available in shops, so get some if you can get your hands on it. But of course in the Wolfberger Boutiques and Winery you'll find it. A quick stop only this time. But we got what we came for. We'll be back. Definitely.

Finally, at the cash register, we were talking about adding another miniature bottle to the purchase which seemed to really annoy the young woman behind the till. No one was in-line behind us and when I went to pay for the additional miniatures the disgruntled female employee simply walked away. Luckily a nice young man rang us up as she obviously did not have the patience to. Seems like they are so sad to be there working.
