Extremely frustrating experience with NEP. They are claiming that two people in an 1,100 sq. ft…read more apartment used nearly 3,000 kWh of electricity in ONE MONTH, resulting in a roughly $600 electric bill. For two weeks, I have been asking for one simple thing in writing: confirmation that my service will not be disconnected and I will not be charged late fees while my meter is being tested and these charges are disputed. There is no direct way to contact the supervisor handling my case, and customer service representatives apparently cannot answer these questions or connect me with her. I have called repeatedly and have been told all week that the supervisor will get back to me. Still nothing. It should absolutely NOT take two weeks and repeated phone calls to get an answer to a basic question about whether your electricity is going to be shut off. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. Unfortunately, NEP is the only electric provider my apartment allows, so I don't even have the option to take my business elsewhere. By far the WORST customer service experience I have EVER had. DO NOT USE NEP if you have a choice.

Yes, they do need to read meters at times but they do that outside now in our area. But previous to that if a reading was missed a card was left on the door with instructions on HOW to temporarily resolve the matter until the next reading. Never had a problem. Also, the water department will not shut off someone's water without notice, especially if a emergency situation is demonstrated. The water pressure has always been very strong, even in the dead of summer. And their customer service reprenetatives have always been very helpful, as long as you are courteous to them. Thank you for making sure the quality of the water is not like other places in the country.

When dealing with customer service representatives, it is like playing the lottery, you never know what you are going to get. When I called IGS, I had the sweetest, most helpful woman on the other end of the phone. I explained my confusion with my bill. She went through all of my questions in depth and made sure I thoroughly understood. She explained the different portions of the bill and what meant what. She did not seem in a rush to get off the phone, like you are often get, but she was determined to make sure I understood. I have a good feeling already about choosing IGS.
