However, my last two haircuts were uneven and grew out poorly, and my most recent visit with my 11-year-old daughter was entirely unacceptable. ​During our appointment, my stylist heavily lectured my daughter about heat styling and using heat spray, making passive-aggressive comments about how her own mother never taught her these things so she had to teach my daughter--all while I was standing right there. It felt incredibly disrespectful and intrusive, and it made my daughter very uncomfortable. ​Furthermore, the stylist made an offensive comment to us about how she "refuses to cut anyone's hair if it's too damaged" because of "where she is in her career." My daughter and I prefer to keep our hair long and don't get frequent cuts, and being judged or shamed for our hair condition by a professional we've trusted for years was highly disappointing. ​To make matters worse, the salon environment felt completely unmanaged. Another client and his mother were allowed to hover closely around my daughter. Despite her being visibly upset and uncomfortable, the other stylists simply brushed it off saying, "Oh, he won't touch you," instead of respecting her personal space or intervening. ​After ten years of loyalty, the drop in technical quality and the complete lack of professional boundaries and awareness during this last visit means we will not be returning.

I'm not just being dramatic here... in every single way, from the informational discussion before I arrived, to the way Sarah at the front desk made me feel so comfortable on the phone with the process, to being in person and given the royal treatment. They began with a tour of this cute spot and I couldn't have loved it more. The decor and aesthetic was stunning, stylish, and modern. When trusting someone with your hair, it feels even better in a soothing space. Katie herself was so thorough as I had questions about the differences between full color, highlights, balayage, and gloss. You know those moments where you have "hair goals" photos in mind? Without even showing her a pic, she came to the table with some options and then nailed it completely. As a redhead it has been challenging for me to find a place I feel confident won't destroy my natural color (yikes, someone made it almost purple once which took a WHILE to grow out) and Katie one hundred percent understood my concerns. I accepted her recommendation to make an appointment with Madison. My hair was in very good condition. However, Madison, the colorist was clearly inexperienced and my hair turned out terrible. It looked like something for Halloween... grey, white and charcoal colors. After two more visits (1 to condition and the next to re-color) my hair was still not anywhere close to the pictures that I had shared and remained damaged. I was devastated. I needed to share so that a buyer can beware since the salon comes with high reviews. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend VCS and, while I hesitate to write negative reviews, I would not want this to happen to someone else. If you do go there, select a different person, for sure.

Im not to picky about my hair and I just wanted to find someone who could become familiar with what I like. I left a fantastic tip (mistake). Next time I called and made an appointment with the same stylist. When I arrived she was just beginning to cut someone else's hair and nobody even addressed I was there. They eventually said it will be a long time before I can get a haircut so scheduling an appointment was worthless. Amazingly the same thing happened the next day. This hole deserves to go out of business.

First of all, when I got to the shop for my appointment, Rebecca was not there yet. Another stylist told me that Rebecca had two appointments the week before that she never showed up for. She did show up, late, and rushed around to get set up. She then rushed through my cut. It was the worst haircut I ever had. She put me under a dryer and when my hair was dry, she did not style it. I left there with frizzy, dry curls. She seemed rude, and talked about herself the entire appointment. I would not recommend her and I would rate her a zero if that were an option. I went to my regular stylist to have it re-cut. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to cut your curls.

We had the place to ourselves and they allowed us to bring in some breakfast foods to enjoy while everyone got their hair done. They also had a makeup artist come in who did some of the girls make up, and they allowed others to bring their own and do it themselves. I can't speak personally to the typical hair cuts and other services, however the bride goes here regularly as did one of the bridesmaids mothers an both had nothing but good things to say. I didn't get the style I wanted and ended up with botched blunt layers and badly bleached sections of my hair that didn't blend at all. The colors they had were very limited and lasted about 2 showers before my hair had no color and looked super crappy. Also the stylist left me sitting there while she did two other clients hair right in front of me. I wanted to complain there but I was tired and hungry and felt like I was about to cry so I just payed and left. Now I dye my weird blond parts at home and I curl my hair every morning because it looks terrible straight. Safe to say I will never be returning to this salon. Note: I brought a picture of what I wanted in color and style and printed it out to make it clear, and the stylist said with full confidence she could easily do it, so my hair was not the problem.
