It wasn't awkward at all ... being that I never played tennis. Coach Joe is AWESOME. He's funny, full of energy, and treats each one of us like we can be a tennis star even in our later years. I found the Summer Class for the little kids (5 years old) to be reasonable and luckily in my time schedule. Monday's at 4 and Saturday mornings. The coach is so good and he really encourages my daughter. She's 5 so I don't know if she'll be good or not ... but it's definitely great to get outdoors and introduce her and I to something new. They also have a lot of free and for profit events. Join the email group. If things remain the same I'll forever be a patron whether active or passive.

The max capacity for the class is 8 people, so you have to make your reservation early - this is easy enough to do on their website. They also offer round robin tournaments and other organized pickleball activities. My only gripe is that it's not easy to reserve a pickleball court if you just feel like playing on your own. Sometimes, when the weather is nice, we feel like going out for some impromptu pickleball and don't feel like competing. Still looking for places in DeKalb where we can easily reserve a court and do our own thing. I believe you can call to check availability and reserve, though.

I entered into their bleak looking entrance and discovered a well laid out interior that was clean and lively. Signs led me to the check-in desk a young, bald man with a goatee sat. I asked if he could tell me a little about the place. He gave me a hurried run down, as he appeared to look over my head avoiding eye contact the entire time. I playfully even moved myself back and forth in an attempt to meet his gaze with his twitchy diverted eye focus, because the interaction felt strange. Unnatural. After receiving some printed information from him, I purchased a cup of coffee and hung around to check out the vibe . Unfortunately, and possibly consciously, I believed that my opinion had already formed. The strange encounter with the man at the check in counter had sealed it. It was unwelcoming. It was cold. It was intentional. It really is a shame. With the density of this area, we could use an alternative to Pickle and Social. As for me, however, this place is not it, and if you know, you know.

Recently a friend…read moreof mine who was still a member asked if I'd play in a tourney with him if he paid for it (he was aware of my experience and feelings about patronizing this place). I agreed since we are a team and he was willing to pay so we signed up on 4/9. the tourney was being held at 9am on 4/26. on 4/26 @12:24am we both received emails stating that we were being withdrawn from the event. Apparently I was banned from the facility due to sharing my less than satisfactory experience. Just further solidifies why I made the decision I did to cancel the membership after having a poor experience during the trial membership. Luckily for me I was woke at the time the email came through so I didn't wake up early and drive across town to get this news. If I was banned why accept submission and money to begin with. Also, why wait til the last minute and punish my friend who despite seeing how i was treated continued to patronize your business. When you could have said weeks ago about this ban so that he could find another partner. but I guess I should be thankful that he at least refunded me this time

I have yet to visit a spa, but that is on my list for the future! This Peachtree Corners location is no exception. My son and I traveled to ATL for the PPA pickleball championships this past weekend and we pretty much spent every waking hour at this facility from Thursday when we arrived until late Sunday night when the tournament was over. We spent the majority of our time either playing pickleball or watching pickleball (both on the indoor and outdoor courts due to some rain), but the facility did a great job (along with the PPA) in navigating the large crowds and keeping the tournament going. We enjoyed some food from the cafe, the locker rooms, and of course the courts and the rest of the grounds as well. We were lucky to be traveling with a friend who purchased VIP Parking, so that was a nice touch... and medaling in some of our events helped make the experience even more fun too! Shoutout to Suzanne on the Life Time pickleball staff! If I lived in the area, I would definitely be spending time here more often - likely taking advantage of open play... We hope to be back next year!
