    Teeing off on No. 10.
    Daniel B.

Cross Creek can be fun if you're looking for a short, inexpensive par 3 course to play. There are 18 holes and every hole is a par 3 (total par 54). There are two sets of tees, blue and red. From the blues, the course measures 1,927 yards. From the reds, 1,742. This is a simple and easy course with minor elevation changes, water hazards, and hardly any bunkers. It's great for beginners. The longest hole is 147 yards and most holes are about 130 yards or less, so you can leave half your clubs in the car unless you feel like lugging around your whole set for an entire round. I got a foursome to come out and play here on Easter Sunday. The on-site cafe was crowded, but the course was empty because of the rainy weather. When it rained, it was mainly sprinkles, so we were able to play all 18 without a hitch. We each paid $22 which is the regular public weekend rate. One person in our group was able to get the student rate which is $17. Seniors, students, Cross Creek residents, and guests of residents get reduced rates. Rates are also cheaper on weekdays. You really can't compare this course to a standard par 70-72 course. It would be unfair. This course wasn't in the greatest shape. Some of the holes/greens looked good while others were downright awful. I think the best thing about this place was its greens, but even several of them were in bad shape with many patches of dirt/sand. The 10th green was probably the worst. I guesstimate up to 50% of that green was patches of dirt. And sadly, I can only describe the 14th hole as "ugly" because it was comprised of mostly dirt/clay. A lot of the "fairways" weren't really fairways, but just regular cut grass or rough with weeds. There were also *a lot* of geese on this course which meant lots and lots of geese droppings. It was actually annoying because the greatest challenge on some holes was avoiding all the droppings as we walked to our next shots. They were like "landmines" as one of my friends put it. There were also lots of gnats on some holes. The hole markers were old and worn out and the tee boxes had been hit up pretty good. We were still able to find patches of grass to tee it up and hit off of though. Every few holes, there were ball washers (filled with washing fluid) and water coolers. To me, the nicest holes were Nos. 11 and 12. I don't think it's a coincidence that these holes face the street. I almost felt like I was playing on a different course on these holes. They were just in much better shape overall compared to the rest of the course. Lush and green. Colorful trees too. Hole no. 6 straddles up right alongside I-75. I think it's kind of neat. The green is just below the interstate. Peachtree Creek cuts through the course and splits Nos. 15 and 16 from the rest of the course. You have to walk over a high bridge over the creek to get to 15 and 16. There are a couple ponds, one of which is dried up and looks terrible. There's trash and litter in the creek and ponds and every so often, you'll get a whiff of what smells like sewage. The pro shop is tiny, but sells the essentials (e.g. balls, gloves, shirts, hats, snacks, refreshments). They even have an old tube TV tuned to the Golf Channel. You can rent clubs as well as pull carts for your bag ($2 for the pull carts). This is a walking only course. The lady at the pro shop was very sweet. Despite all the flaws, Cross Creek has a charm all its own and we enjoyed our round. The main draws about this course for me are its close proximity to where I live (in-town) and the rounds are quick (2-3 hours).

As an olympic lifter, it is hard to find gyms within the perimeter (outside CrossFits) that allow you to olympic lift or drop the bar. Not only is it great for Olympic lifting, but they have a wide range of equipment from powerlifting to strongman to a ceiling rope to a rower to dumbbells, etc. Great atmosphere of people who just love to be strong. In addition, Citadel Nutrition's line of supplements is ON POINT. I've never seen a supplement company with such minimal ingredient lists. Their Tier 1 pre-workout leaves me feeling energized but not jittery, and never feels like I just dosed myself with chemicals. Clean burn. I love that they have a powdered vitamin that I can mix in to shakes and whatnot instead of taking pills, and their fish oils are super high quality (no fishy burps!). The quality of their products is matched only to the quality of their gym space. The guys over at CN are genuine about their love of fitness and it shows.

I generally operate by an "assume positive intent" mindset, but I'm sharing this in hopes of saving…read moreothers time, money, and frustration -- especially when it comes to something as important as your health and wellness. Don't go to STAT Wellness. There are far better wellness clinics in Atlanta with more knowledgeable providers, stronger communication, and a genuine focus on patient care over profit. Unprofessional communication, disorganization at every step, lack of medical depth, and a disappointing level of follow-through have made this one of the worst healthcare experiences I've had. My Experience: I began seeing Jacqui Bartholomew, Family NP, at STAT Wellness in April 2025 for help identifying hormonal and GI imbalances I've struggled with since IVF several years ago. From the start, scheduling was disorganized - two separate people (a "patient specialist" and front desk) responded to my messages in their app, leading to multiple appointment mix-ups. STAT requires an extremely detailed health history, lab uploads, and background forms, yet I'm still unsure that information was ever used. On more than one occasion, I reminded Jacqui of personal & maternal health history she seemed unaware of, which changed her recommendations. Cost: The initial visit was around $900. It did include an InBody scan - which, ironically, is free at most gyms but request for an update at my first in-person follow-up 6 months later was told it would be a couple hundred dollars ha. The first session was mostly conversational, and while Jacqui's tone was warm, her answers were vague or dismissive. Follow-up was painfully slow; it took nearly four weeks (April 22-May 19) for her to provide a plan. Caveat, some of the delay was due to continued scheduling mishaps mentioned above & a 1 week reschedule on my behalf. The follow-up visit was 30 minutes virtually just enough to skim lab results (and this wasn't free, it's another ~$200). My questions about blood levels were inconsistently answered - often with "false positive, don't worry about it." I was told to do the Whole30 diet, but no guidance was provided on implementation, reasoning, or reintroduction. The written notes afterward didn't include any pertinent details from our call. I have call recordings and documentation showing this gap. Jacqui also recommended electrolytes, suggesting I purchase specific in-house or branded options - none of which were Whole30 compliant. When I asked about the contradiction, the response (from a nurse via the app) was simply, "Jacqui says it's okay" or to make an at home version with OJ and coconut water. The communication setup was odd; you never actually hear from your provider directly. By my October follow-up, things had only worsened. Check ins are through the app and limited to patient-directed, many times I'd wait 1-2 weeks without a response. I never was asked how things were going, given guidance on whole30 reintroduction, asked if symptoms were improving based on the new supplements I was prescribed (through their in-house service, of course). Jacqui was about to go on maternity leave, and I tried to be empathetic, but if you're charging thousands for medical care, patients deserve focus and clarity. She again couldn't answer basic questions about my labs or protocol and told me the follow-up InBody scan would cost extra - for a machine that takes 60 seconds to use and is free elsewhere. By then, I had spent nearly $2,000 at STAT with little to show for it. Since leaving, I've done my own research, consulted other NPs, and even had AI analysis of my labs - and much of what I was told at STAT doesn't line up. When I finally sent feedback expressing my disappointment, the clinic offered a complimentary 30-minute consult with a different provider. I'm still undecided if I'll take it, it's currently scheduled for next week, but I wanted to share my experience in hopes others can make more informed choices. Bottom line: I wish I had something positive to say about STAT Wellness, but I simply don't. The care felt shallow, transactional, and misaligned with their stated mission. Save your time, your money, and your trust...there are many better wellness clinics in Atlanta.

Workout Anytime advertises a free 1-day trial. What they don't advertise is that the Howell Mill Road location is essentially unreachable by phone. I called repeatedly during the 7-business-day cancellation window. Every single call went to voicemail. No one ever called back. The cancellation window closed, I was billed, and when I tried to address it, I was met with a wall. I formally cancelled with ABC Financial on March 23rd. They confirmed it. Charge attempts hit my card on March 24, 25, 26, and 27. Four days straight after a confirmed cancellation date. The $19.50 "service fee" was assessed after my cancellation effective date. That's not a billing error, that's a pattern. Virginia Smith at this location is the single biggest problem here. When I came in person on March 27th, she refused to tell me her name, refused to print a copy of my membership contract, and told me Workout Anytime doesn't advertise a free trial, while that same free trial was live on their website. ABC Financial confirmed she could authorize a waiver of my balance with one phone call. She refused. I sent her two formal written notices. No response to either. On April 6th I gave up fighting and just paid the $113.98 to trigger the cancellation process. My membership then sat in "pending cancellation" until April 23rd. That's 58 days from enrollment to full cancellation, for a gym I tried to leave within the first week. Avoid this location. Avoid Virginia Smith. If you're already a member and trying to cancel, do everything in writing, send letters certified mail, and call ABC Financial directly, don't expect the owner to help you.
