We had an amazing weekend staying here! First off, there was excellent communication. Right after…read morewe booked, we got a very informative email from the staff, explaining how to prepare and how to reach the hostel from the airport. The directions were quite easy to follow, and when we found the hostel, we were heartily greeted by the staff and other hostelers sitting in the kitchen/common room. Julian checked us in and we were immediately offered dinner (vegetarian and amazing, by the way) which comes free every night. We had to rent towels and a lock for the lockers under the beds, but it's just a deposit so no big deal.
The rooms were spacious and clean, which was important for me, as I have a phobia of dirty sheets and floors, etc. Each bed had a reading light and socket as promised. The bathrooms were clean and there was never any fuss over space. After we settled in, we went out to meet everyone. The Hostel is run as if we're one big family- dinner together, then going out together. Every night they'd planned a bar and club, and everyone was welcome. Additionally, on most of the days, they had sightseeing activities planned (while we were there, they went to Montjuic). The nights out were fun and saved us a good deal of money (free entry, free shots, etc.) We even had dinner at one of their sister hostels (Rambla) which had a similarly comfortable vibe.
I can't praise the staff enough. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and helpful, and made the experience even better than it would have been. They gave us directions (which was important, as both of us are navigationally challenged) and even printed out our Sagrada Familia tickets and instructions for getting back to the airport. 10/10 would/will stay again.
