During their work, we had to modify our agreement verbally i) to paint the entire sons room because patch work did not match and ii) instead of painting the 11 ft of 2 inch trim, we decided to paint the entire 2 inch trim and the lattice white. For this additional work, we agreed to add another $400 to the agreed contract resulting in the total amount to $2,900. However, by Sunday March 8, painting of the trim and touchup lacquer of kitchen cabinets were not completed. Also, AJ removed two speaker boxes from the ceiling of the Office/Sunroom to paint the trim but they were not installed back. On Sunday, after the work, Dan informed me that he will come back during the later part of the week (Thursday) to finish the job, however he wanted partial payment. I wrote him a check for $2,7000 leaving a $200 balance for the unfinished work. Dan informed me later that he won't be able to do it on Thursday, instead he will do it on Sunday March 15. On March 13, Friday, I called him to confirm that he would be coming on Sunday to complete the job. He informed me that he won't be able to do it on Sunday but instead will do it on Wednesday March 18. When I insisted that he has to do it by Sunday because my Real Estate agent has scheduled for Monday (March 16) to take pictures of the house, he agreed to come on Saturday evening/night (March 14). On Saturday March 14, around 4:30 pm, I texted him to confirm that he would be coming as he stated, however, he did not text me back to confirm that he is coming. Instead, he started giving me runaround. I texted and called him several times to make sure that it is his responsibility to finish the job and to install back the Speaker box but he declined to do that. Therefore, I feel that Dan never wanted to do the remaining work, since he already received $2,700 for the work which I find that he cheated on me.

After closing, and a major rain, we were made awar of several problems. USA was down the street and we asked them to take a look ( we already had three bids in hand) and Mr. Holmes was able to beat the price and could start as soon as it stopped raining. The permits were handled the next day, the materials arrived the same afternoon and the very next morning, his crew arrived to do the job. It took two and a half days and while he was there he suggested we do the garage as well so it would be a perfect match and he only charged us for the extra materiels, not the labor, so in a matter of three days, it was done, all the waste was off premise and we are very happy with his work
