The whole discussion just seemed really strange to me because when she initially entered the room she said that my teeth looked okay. Also, I tend to take care of my teeth, and was not experiencing any pain. I decided to get a second opinion from another doctor in NYC. It turns out that I didn't need any root canals. The dentist that I went to didn't need to break down my current fillings to determine this. I feel like they hire a lot of inexperienced dentists at this location, and not senior dentists to give second opinions on procedures. After doing my research, I found out that Dr. Kim had graduated dental school a few years which probably explains her lack of knowledge.

Though busy with other patients, Dr. Mim found the time to extract said tooth that same session knowing I was in pain and going out of town in several days. They both followed up and called me to see how I was doing after the surgery and provided medication to see me through a couple of tough days post op. Two weeks after surgery went in for post op exam and almost totally healed up with no complications. Their pricing is modest and in line with such procedures on the UES. The office staff is very professional but treats you in a relaxed, personal way , much as the dentists do during exam and procedures. He removed my IMPACTED wisdom teeth--without putting me under--with minimal pain/ blood, and absolutely zero scarring or complications. I was good as new in a couple days. Other dentists would have wanted to put me under completely! It took Dr, Korotun less than 5 minutes, using just local anesthesia (shot of novocaine to the gums), and it was minimally painful for me. He also managed to take the teeth out whole, rather than fracturing it in tiny pieces which are then difficult to extract. He has a skilled hand and I highly recommend him. The hygienist in his office is also quite good.
