Always and forever, a Carmi standard! We love everything about Dimaggio's! Don't hesitate-- just order and enjoy!!

So lucky to have this family owned restaurant! Nice varied menu, a longtime favorite for over 50 years! Fresh made pizza dough with delicious toppings. read more

Great food as always. Local family . Can't go wrong ,eating here. If you like sweet sauce or real Chicago deep dish here you go.

Marginal pizza with pizza makers and servers attitude issues. Better off at Pizza Hut.

Sure it's the only spot in a small town, but Dimaggios is special. It's got that bar pizza vibe but taken up a level to legitimate perfect pie territory. I'm a sucker for sweet saucy pizza and Dimaggios delivers read more

Some of the best Pizza ever much better than Pizza Hut or any fast food pizza. And there Calzones are wonderful and so is there breadsticks. The people who gave 2 and 1 stars have bad taste buds. read more

I love this pizza, and I'm getting ready to order it now! Can order made or premade. I love out of town so I'll get premade and store in freezer. read more

Food is good, but took a while for food delivery and when the food was delivered the kid had two girls in the truck with him, Idk if he was training them or not. I probably will do pick up if I order from there again because of the delivery wait time is awful. This was not on a holiday or peek weekend days. read more

I measure all other pizza I eat by this pizza here. The crust is thin and crispy, a mouthwatering sweet sauce and amazing variety of toppings. DiMaggio's is by far the very best pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life. This was the first pizza I remember eating as a kid and 40 years later, it is still unmatched. DiMaggio's have several restaurants in Southern Illinois but the Carmi site still bakes the best pizza. I live in Florida now but still make it a point to stop by when I'm back home. I just can't say enough good things about this place!! read more

Dimaggio's Pizza - a pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms - Pizza Near Me - Carmi, Illinois

When they have dine in it's hard to beat, but since they went to delivery or carry out only they suck. The girls that answer the phone are rude and stupid. They get orders wrong or give them to the wrong people and could care less. We've tried them twice since thanksgiving and both times were a total waste of time. They take your $$$$ and could care less if you get your correct order. I'll just use Mimmos or Maier Grocery from now on. read more

I've never had DiMaggio's but heard it was good. I guess maybe I'm spoiled from living in a college town, because I thought it was pretty gross. The crust was like cardboard--zero bubbles like you get with a hand tossed crust. It was kind of like frozen pizza crust and was perfectly round, so I'm betting they buy it pre-made. The sauce is bright red and way too sweet. This was several steps away from ever being tomatoes--there was none of the flavor or spices you normally get in pizza sauce. The mushrooms were straight out of a can. Ew. The thing that bugged me most and prevented me from eating more than my two original small pieces was the fact that they put chunks of raw bacon on top of the pizza before cooking it. It was still WAY too squishy to eat. And I don't think they are cooking the pizzas in a high temp pizza oven. They just didn't have the right texture or caramelization. On a good note, there was a ton of cheese. And the sweet tea was good. My brother-in-law was hoping for a beer with his pizza but only soda and tea are served here. We ordered an Italian salad and had to search for the meat and cheese in it. The salads did have sliced radishes, which is nice, and the blue cheese dressing was really good. I wouldn't come back here. read more

Dimaggio's Pizza - Raw bacon on pizza? Eww. - Pizza Near Me - Carmi, Illinois

I have to say that moving to the small town of Carmi I was a bit disappointed with the lack of available restaurants. What a surprise when I ordered from Dimaggio's. This pizza was so delicious - I nearly cried for joy. great family owned place read more

I enjoyed the thin crust and the slightly sweet sauce but extremely skimpy on toppings, I had an Hawaiian pizza with extra cheese The quantity of toppings was very very skimpy not when I would expect for a $20 pizza read more

Decor is the only reason this does not get 5 stars. If you like pizza with a slightly sweeter sauce, you should like Dimaggio's. My wife grew up in Carmi and has been a fan her whole life (she would be upset if she knew I only gave them 4 stars!!). We get Dimaggio's when ever we visit Carmi. Good pizza. read more

Wonderful place. A local favorite! Have been a regular for 40 years! If passing through give it a try!

I can't believe I am giving this middle of nowhere pizza place four stars, but I have to admit, I do crave it....and often. Whenever I head back to the boy's hometown, no trip feels complete without cramming a bit too much of this over cheesed pizza into my body, and yes, sometimes getting a stomach ache later. So, there are a total of what, like 8 restaurants in Carmi, Illinois, and that includes the McDonald's and required Illinois Dairy Queen, and this is one of them. Sure , Carmi does not have critically acclaimed restaurants, but this one, yes, is pretty darn delicious. They have a great sauce and they don't pile it on. It isn't bitter and it isn't sweet, it's perfect. Also, the cheese. I mean they pile it on. For a formaggio addict like myself, this makes the pizza great. Also, though cheesy as all get out, this pizza remains ungreasy. Double score for DiMaggio's. Finally, they have two kinds of bread sticks and both are freaking great. Again the cheese makes one style, but seriously try both out. You will not be disappointed. So, would I make the 2.5 hour drive from St. Louis just to get this pizza, well no, we have plenty of good pizza where I am from. However, if I found myself on this side of Illinois and craving a slice, I'd certainly give it the 20 minutes off 64 to get a slice. read more

Pizza is good. Like the deluxe the best. Cheese sticks and salads at also very good. Would recommend

One of the best pizza spots in Illinois. Living in Chicago where great pizza is on every corner, I always find myself craving Dimaggios.

Amazing pizza, the sauce is fabulous, calzones, salads, pastas, and so much more. Great atmosphere and the DiMaggio family is working side by side along with the rest of their employees to consistently have a flawless dining experience for you and the whole family. read more

Everyone in town says this is their favorite place for pizza, but I disagree. I fight with my dad about where to order pizza from because I want to avoid eating their pizza at all cost. If I do eat it, it's because I had no other choice, and I immediately regret it. Their pizza always gives me heartburn and indigestion because it's so greasy. Grease just pools up on the top of it, and it's disgusting. The crust is like thin crunchy cardboard, the sauce is way too sweet, and the amount of cheese is seriously lacking. I could live the rest of my life without ever having it again and be completely happy. read more

Both sets of my grandparents live in Carmi, IL. I eat here every time we come home and it is awesome. I have had the good fortune of eating in many amazing restaurants and sure this is not a world famous chef's studio but, it is great pizza. Not greasy and amazing taste, you will love it. read more

Beth W.. I'm gonna start by saying you are a freaking idiot and clearly don't know anything about pizza. Dimaggios has been around for 40 years. The crust is not pre made or frozen. The dough is made fresh everyday then rolled out to order. It is a harder type crust because it's Sicilian brink oven pizza and it is suppose to be like that! Unlike your terrible chain college pizza you are used to eating every topping on a DiMaggio pizza is fresh with the exception of few toppings. Again they have been around and doing extremely well for 40 years so I'm sure they have the temperature of their ovens down pat. So before you bash something on yelp you should get your facts straight. Enjoy your dominos and pizza hut pizza! read more

If you never eat another slice in your life make sure your last slice is from Dimmagio's. I've never had another pizza that compares to theirs. read more

Eh we were hungry and the lasagna and sml pizza was ordered. Our family was traveling for about 6 hrs and stopped at this place for food. My kid was 6 at the time and he LOVES pizza like any other kid. He was forced to finish his food since there wasn't going to be another stop (really bad for a pizza lover diff when the kid will eat and like the tostinos sml frozen pizza that you can get for 1.00) The lasagna and pizza were covered in this bright sugary tomato sauce, best way to describe it was as if you sprinkled sugar all over your food. No spice. read more

We happened to be in the area for lunch the other day, yelped and this placed popped up as highly rated. We stepped in and sat down and was promptly greeted by our lovely waitress who took our drink orders and gave us some time to browse the menu. We ordered a pizza with some veggies and pepperoni and sausage and a couple of salads taboot. I will say the service was excellent and the pizza was....ok. Two things we were not a fan of was the sauce as it was too sweet for our liking. The other part that I was not fan of was the peppers and onions- they were diced extremely small and as pale green ( the peppers) as could be as if they were frozen, not the most appetizing looking pizza. Overall though it was a good experience and we'd probably go back read more

This place is such a gem in such a small town. The food is pretty much authentic with little to no cut corners. There is not only pizza but also the menu includes pasta and subs. The "old bread sticks" are unique. The pizza sauce is sweet which is great. The crust is home made and characteristically thin topped with a great pizza sauce and freshly graded cheese. read more

Love this place! Some of the best pizza around! Kept clean and staff is very friendly! Highly recommend! Their pasta dishes and salads are awesome too! Not too expensive either..we took our family of 7 out for under $50 which is always a huge bonus read more

Best pizza around! Fresh dough, amazing toppings etc....my only issue which honestly isn't an issue but more of a recommendation is that they get a liquor license to be able to sell beer. What's pizza without beer :) read more

Worth every hour of the drive. Pete and Tony have been doing it right for years and years. Not only a hometown favorite, it is the favorite! The sweet and salty sauce. The piping hot cheese. That corner piece with just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese is my fav! 382-8912 is forever engrained in my brain. read more

This is some of the best pizza in Southern Illinois. I'm very picky about pizza having grown up in Chicago with stellar pizza joints on every corner. The service was great too. read more

I love Dimaggios Pizza and have been eating it since they first opened when I was a kid. Over time their pizza sauce has gotten sweeter and sweeter until I can't eat it anymore so I order my pizzas without sauce. It would be nice if they offered a pizza sauce like they used to have when they first opened. The toppings they offer are full of flavor and delicious. I love the thin crispy crust. read more

I live in Carmi 13 years and this place is what I miss most. This is my all time favorite pizza place.

This is very good pizza!! Small, out of the way spot, with good atmosphere and even better pizza. The owners are very loyal to their customers and they make most of the pizza themselves!! Great family run business! I used to drive 45 minutes to get their pizza, now I live right in town. Worth it!! read more
