It's a small Asian restaurant, only a few tables so when you wanna come in the weekends, you should make your reservation. During the week you can walk in whenever you want, they'll fit you in. I always come here to have Endamame and Sushi Combo A or B (depending with how many people I am). The combo A really hits the spot when you are by yourself or it's just you having sushi. The menu says 18 pcs but trust me... They give a lot more which is awesome! Same goes for the combo B... The bridge is huge and it has over 50 pcs on there i guess. It's also pretty neat that they give you handrolls and tempura shrimp on this combo All by all... one of the better sushi/Asain places 't Zuid has to offer for reasonable prices One tip: in the winter, bring a jacket because there might be possibility there's a small breeze going through the restaurant

I am on a business trip in Antwerp. I decided I was in the mood for sushi tonight for dinner. So I…read morestopped at Umi sushi in place an order of edamame, king, crab, roll, and starting with the miso soup. I also got a ginger beer to drink. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for the ginger beer to be brought to the table because obviously they did not have enough help. There was one guy who was the host and also serving the entire front patio area. There was a table of two ladies, who came in after me by about 10 mins who had placed the order before me. I realize that a guy was very busy, so I did not make a fuss about it. He took my order immediately after taking their order, even though they should've taken my order sooner. There was another guy working who was also serving tables but no one asked me anything. He prepped my table with the right utensils etc and walked away. To make a long story short, I never got anything that I ordered except for the ginger beer. I knew they were busy so I patiently waited... I was there for over an hour... then the guy comes out and tells me that he forgot to put in my order and then asked me what did I order again? As polite as I could be, and let him know that I was not going to order it and to just charge me for the drink and I will leave. He comped the ginger beer and was super apologetic for everything. Needless to say, I will never eat at Sumi sushi again. I always eat there when I come to Antwerp since it's across the street from my hotel. As a business, it was UNACCEPTABLE. The funny thing about it. All is the fact that they were not very busy, the inside was almost empty. Service sucks when you don't service.

It was off to a good start, but everything went downhill very quickly…read more 1 star for the service. The server was very attentive and responsive. But maybe that's because I was the only customer in the restaurant at 12:30 pm. Should have known that was a bad sign. I started with the miso soup which was on point. Generous portions of seaweed and soft tofu. Perfect flavor, as if they started with a homemade dashi and excellent miso paste. Everything else was not good. The mini lumpia - it was fried well, I'll give them that. The sauce was a little off, not the traditional sweet and sour sauce that accompanies lumpia. The filling was mostly soggy, over cooked cabbage. It tastes like there was also mashed potato inside the lumpia. Overall, this is not a good dish. The salad has avocado. Yum. But they dressed it with honey mustard! Where is the traditional yummy Japanese salad dressing? Even if they had subbed in thousand island, which I've seen before, that would have been better. But plain honey mustard? No thank you. I took two bites and left the rest. Onto the main event - unagi nigiri and a California crab roll. The unagi - I really couldn't figure out what was going on with it. I bit into it but couldn't chew through it. I spit it back out, and it looked like thick fatty skin, but skin should be edible. Puzzling. To be honest, I really don't know what I was eating. It was disgusting. The California crab roll lists its ingredients as crab, avocado, pickled cucumber, and tamago. Imagine my surprise when I got it and it was imitation crab, not real crab! How can you list the ingredients and name it in a way that's completely false advertising?! And the pickled piece was not cucumber at all: it was pickled daikon! The entire roll is a lie. This restaurant is located across form the famous cathedral. Maybe I got fooled into another tourist trap? In any case, the food was so terrible that I'm still hungry and will probably go to the McDonald's across the way. Sadness.

You can find it a little hidden from the main shopping streets where it's nice and quiet and where there ar no cars. On the Vrijdagsmarkt you can get a lot of sun - woop woop! So the location for me is perfect! Accomodation? If the weather is nice, they set up their big and colorful terrace. So hurry up to install yourself there during lunch or in the afternoon for a coffee/tea. Food? Pretty nice and original! Big portions, a lot of variation, veggie stuff available. They have sandwiches for lunch but unlike other lunch places, they offer combinations of coriander, cajun and other less traditional spices. Apart of that they also serve suggestions (which are a little more expensive, +- € 14) Price? It's ok, you pay around € 8 for a sandwich and a little more for something special. Drinks? Enough variation and some homemade stuff! And they have some beers from the tap which I can really appreciate as a Belgian girl :) Service? We were served by a good looking and very friendly guy! The girl was also pretty and very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food and drinks. I'm definitely going back here.

In America you could have 2 sandwiches for that price. But it's okay, Camino was trendy and cozy, and I was there with my sister-in-law, so I didn't mind paying a bit more. I ordered the glazed pork belly and she went with the lemongrass chicken. We tried each other's sandwiches and I by far made the better choice. So if you go - definitely order the glazed pork belly! The meat was the best part of my sandwich. I didn't like the bread - it was really soft. By the time I was finishing my second half, the bread was soggy. Like mentioned in other reviews, solid effort, but for that price I expected much more. Also - it's 2015, it's really irritating that they don't accept cards!
