I actually had fun with my night shift nurse, Cheryl. I had to sign some paperwork and answer questions about my health & lifestyle. It was 00:30 before we finished. I wasn't very happy with them wanting to ultrasound me every time I urinated. But that was less painful than the blood draw that Cheryl attempted at 05:00. She tried two times, once in my arm and once in my hand. She was unsuccessful both times and I was crying after the hand stick. I was very unhappy to learn that they draw blood every Monday. Just what I needed, get woken up early to be in pain & cry. Atrium is nearly becoming a place that I never want to visit again. But I have to be open minded. I've been having a great time with my physical therapists and occupational therapists. They push you hard but they know what you are able to accomplish. I came here three days ago and I'm already up and walking with the aid of a walker. I can also propel myself around in a wheelchair! I was able to take a shower yesterday, the first time in over two months. I'm also way ahead of the goal that I set for myself. I wanted to walk to the gym. Yesterday I walked to the gym and back. Time to set a new goal. The wound care team has been using electro-therapy and a saline wound wash. The wound wash is a futuristic looking pistol that washes a wound with saline. It also sucks up the dead tissue at the same time.

The latest incident involved their failure to notify me when my mom fell at the facility. They sent her to the ER and had a contracted after-hours medical service call me from an 1800 number at 6:48 AM. This provider didn't inform me to look out for such a number in emergencies, so even if I had been awake, I wouldn't have known to answer. The Optum service team admitted they couldn't provide a specific number because calls come from various numbers. The facility claims Optum acts as their extension, while Optum says they aren't employees of the agency and that their relationship with the facility does not stop the facility nursing staff (staff in general) from contacting me directly. My mom has been at this facility for years, and they have always called me in the past when she fell or needed to go to the hospital, not the contracted Providers. From what I understand ( by research) this appears to be a state and federal violation. The bottom line is that my confused elderly mom was sent to the ER without my knowledge, and I only discovered it the next day when I noticed a wristband on her. She told me she asked the nursing home to call me, but they didn't. The facility continues to avoid accountability, as usual. I requested their grievance policy and form to file a complaint but was denied. Their regional Director decided he would not afford me this right and had the form completed by their Administration, not reflecting my chief complaint. I've received conflicting answers from the facility and the State Rep responsible for holding them accountable. This has been an ongoing battle just to protect my mom's rights and not be bullied by Administration (ignoring me many times, dismissing my concerns and gaslighting me) there because I am advocating for her.

Whenever I visited, I was treated warmly, and my father was always resting comfortably in a clean room and a pristine bed, with carefully laundered, comfortable clothes. He had dementia, so he was unable to tell us how the staff was treating him (and never having been the type of person to complain) we had to take non-verbal cues. All the cues pointed to a staff that was both patient and caring. Trust was essential to us and something we considered heavily before deciding on a place for our beloved father. During his final days, our family experienced feelings that I cannot properly put into words here. Likewise, I am unable to express how sensitive the staff was in their treatment of my father. I imagine that they deal with loss on a regular basis, but never once did they regard our grief casually. My father was a kind, gentle, man and was known for his singing voice, his whistling, his love of jazz and his love of the Word. The staff made sure he was able to enjoy all these things during his final days. They all knew him by name, and said he was easy to care for and easy to care about. This was evident in their heartfelt farewell. You can not pay someone to care, and [care] is what they did here. Perhaps I have not adequately relayed, but in my heart I will absolutely, always appreciate every last member of this staff for giving of themselves so selflessly, when it counted most.

I thought nobody understood what I was going through. But the truth is... I needed help more than I ever realized. Coming to Harmony Recovery Center was one of the hardest choices I've ever made -- but it's also one of the best. The staff here aren't just employees -- they're in recovery too. They've lived the chaos. They've felt the pain. They've fought the same fight most of us are fighting. They've been in our shoes -- and because of that, they don't judge us... they *get* us. They sit with you in the dark moments. They guide you when you feel lost. They push you when you want to give up. And they remind you every single day that recovery is possible. They've been a huge part of my journey, and I don't know where I'd be without them. So if you're out there struggling, using, or believing you're too far gone -- listen: You're not. You CAN get clean. You CAN rebuild your life. You DESERVE a future you don't want to escape from. And if you don't know where to start -- start here. Make the call. Walk through the doors. Let someone help you save your life. It's helping save mine.

Hello. My name is Brian Jones. I am writing this review because its not fair to Harmony and it's…read morestaff, how the few who wrote a review chose to be negative. I been in Harmony for a month today. 30 days alcohol and drug free. Since day one, I have been respected and treated by Professionals and truly caring staff. The staff here goes above and beyond to meet my every need. I have been highly motivated by the staff and group settings, to the extent that I do not wish to drink or smoke Marijuana. I know, there have been alot of people saying negative things about this place. I can personally say that the majority of those who are complaining are ones who are upset because they are not allowed to use or break the rules without facing consequences or removal from the program. In order to truly obtain what the program has to offer, you must truly want it! Too many people come in here to play and try to game this program. If they was not confronted and punished for their actions, then they would over run the program and make it impossible for someone like myself to advance in my sobriety and my opportunity to be successful in life. This program have me already loving the things I thought was lost forever in my life. This program have me becoming a more productive human being emotionally, spiritually, and physically, as I go forward with obtaining my license, my CDL, a decent job, my own crib, and a down payment for my own car. How? I'm glad you ask. Because this program have shown me that it is ok to love me and feel my own emotions. It shown me that I still am somebody who have a great chance at succeeding, and becoming a successful man and human being. Harmony is an Excellent place for those who are serious about and truly ready for a change. They have some excellent programs. Can they do better in some areas? Of course they can. Hopefully Those within the Harmony family can work on polishing the Gems within. Where there is opportunity there can also be gains. Harmony have by far the best housing and cleanliness houses i have seen. Can we the Harmony family improve conditions in the housing area? Of course we can! That is why communication is so important. Do I have a suggestion on how to make Harmony better? Of course I do. I will simply offer one. I would suggest that we create house leaders for each unit. To help maintain the house needs as well as the security of our homes. Because staff cannot be everywhere at once. The same leaders will function as a committee to address all issues with staff, so as to limit the needs of the community and be a voice for those who feel voiceless. Finally, would I recommend Harmony to anyone I know? Yes. I would recommend Harmony to everyone who is serious about making a change in the substance dependency or mental challenges. If you would like to feel loved, supported, helped. Educated and freely become your true self once again, then please give Harmony a call! They are hear for you 24/7, 365 days a year. Thank you Harmony for blessing me with a chance for a sincere change in life!!! Brian jones.
