Shahbaaz Curry Cottage has been a favourite of mine for a good few years now - being a minute away…read morefrom my parents house, it also doubles up as our local Indian takeaway. The restaurant is, as the name suggests, in a small cottage that has quite recently been extended to cater for the demand for a good curry house in the area. There must be no more than 15 tables in the entire place, which makes it nice and cosy - which I like. I have been here countless times, and each time I cannot fault the service. The waiters are friendly, and the same guys have worked there for years, so if you're local and go there frequently they remember your name - which is always nice. The food is authentic Indian food, with a varied choice of curries on the menu. One of their starters - Prawn on Puree - is my favourite and I often order this as larger portion for my main meal, which they are always more than happy to do for me. The prices are very reasonable here, and if you like them on Facebook they'll often post print-off vouchers on their page for customer discounts and freebies. They also run deals on certain nights, where you can get 3 courses and a beer for £15. Last week when I visited, the service was abnormally slow.. And something I haven't experienced before. Granted it was a busy Friday night but maybe they were a waiter down or something. The service is usually faultless - this must have been an off night but I wouldn't like to mark them down for it. I'll continue to go here, either with family or with friends - and if you're in the area it's definitely the best place for Indian food for a good few miles.

Love the Shahbaaz! Great food. Lovely staff. The 3 courses for £9.99 they offer on Weds & Sunday's…read moreare well worth the money & they're very accommodating on alterations to the menu. Highly recommended!

We've been ordering from The Big Taste in Little Lever for around 5 years now and can quite…read morehonestly say we've never had a problem. The kebabs are always great value for money (in fact the Big Taste Special and the Chef's Grill could easily be shared between 2 people) you have the choice of pitta or naan, and they usually send your meats and salad in separate containers too which is a nice touch - there's nowt worse than warm, soggy lettuce on a kebab! What's also nice is that when they've cooked the chicken/lamb they always cut it through to make sure it's done properly - also makes it easier to make up your kebab as the pieces are smaller! The pizzas are really tasty, always have plenty of toppings and cheese on and are always piping hot. Really good for a "kebab shop pizza." They also do lots of other things; cheesy chips are always a favourite, they do both a vegetarian and a meat (chicken) samosa (portion of 4) both of which are lovely, onion rings - which go great with their garlic mayo, and the best jacket spuds around. The potato is chopped up so your filling is not just plonked in the middle or over the top, but it's kinda all mixed through, so you get a bit of everything with every bite. My absolute favourite thing though are the burgers - the Bacon Cheese Burger to be precise. The burgers are grilled, not fried like some places (or even worse steamed...EWWW!!) and are always cooked through nicely but still juicy, and you get that lovely charcoaled flavour like a B.K. They use PROPER bacon and always put plenty on, at least 2 rashers usually, (unlike some places where you get a scrap of something resembling wafer thin ham) and it's all tucked up nice and neat inside the (sesame) bun. YUM!! Delivery wise, they're really quick. You normally get told 30 minutes, but I don't think we've ever had an order delivered over 25 mins, even on a busy Saturday night. The delivery driver is always pleasant and friendly and he's never turned up with blaring music pumping out some dance rubbish (like we had with another company we ordered a pizza from - it was 10pm and I had to tell him to turn it down!) Another nice touch is that they offer a free garlic bread with cheese if you have over £15 worth delivered or over £10 worth on collection - these are awesome! It's worth buying some extra cans or something just to get one! But what's also nice is if you have already got a garlic bread in your order, they will offer you something else free instead (like a bottle of pop or sommat) I really can't fault them, at all. Great little shop.

yes, i would agree, the food is always piping hot and very tasty.. keep up the good work!read more
