I really felt like we came to a mutual agreement about the way things work up in Milford, PA. We parted ways on our last conversation about him coming to our house to look at our system to determine what if anything was needed. Jim said it was a slim chance that he could come by but would try. I had my hopes up. I was not looking to do the work on that particular visit but was hoping to build a working relationship with him moving forward and to see when we could schedule the service that was needed. As you can guess he never showed up or called to say he was not coming. So...I left a message again. This time Jim called back within the hour. He stated he was having medical problems and was not able to make it to our house. Fair enough, It was a long shot anyway and I was not upset. We left off that he would touch base with me and try to reschedule. Well after waiting days for Jim to call back, I decided to call and leave a message. This time the message I left was clear and concise. Do you or don't you want to do the work? Please tell me straight up so I can either work with you or start by calling other companies. I said if I don't hear back from you your silence will speak volumes. Guess what...no one called back! See the pattern? I for the life of me cannot figure out why Rich Plumbing does not want my business. Oh well. The unit had been cleaned over the years and 6 years ago, after I got divorced, I had a chimney cleaner come out and he told me the unit should have been vented out the side because of the type of unit it was. He still got on the roof and checked things out, but charged me a $60 for coming out, even though he didn't do anything. I haven't used the unit since. Last year, I heard a bird in the pipe and it even got down into the stove and I had to rescue it. I've since heard other birds in there, so I reached out to A+ Chimney Sweep to have them clean the chimney and check the cap. I figured a second opinion wouldn't hurt and they can at least clean the chimney from the roof, even though I had no intention of going back to using the woodstove. Now, I admit I'm very naïve when it comes to chimney/fireplace stuff, but I totally feel taking advantage of as a single woman trying to have her home serviced. Chris came out and without going on the roof, told me that there is a cap on my chimney and there is nothing he can do about the birds, they can still get in. I told him what the previous guy told me about the stove inside and he agreed that it was poorly installed and he couldn't clean it, then he proceeded to tell me nothing could be done and he had to charge me the full $170 for coming out. When I showed my disbelief, he responded that he should actually charge me more for the 30 mile/hr roads to get here. As far as I know, they are only in Sparrowbush which is just over 1/2 hr from me. I asked if he could at least get on the roof and clean from there and he said no, he doesn't want the liability because the stove isn't properly installed. Totally disappointed and feeling ripped off.

I needed a job done and had three actual electricians come out to provide estimates. All three looked at and confirmed during their individual estimates that the breaker that Randy put in was incorrect and NEVER should have been left that way. The breaker wasn't completely set and was causing intermittent issues. The breaker was to a Sump Pump room in the basement and never would have been noticed had real professionals not taken a look at it. It is clear the breaker didn't fit. Randy tried to wedge it in and almost caused damage to both my panel and worse, my home should I have needed the pump to work. I tried to remedy this with Ray, the owner, who sent me a scathing - I am a rock star, google me, I'm out touring with bands do you know who these bands are because I'm important and if the guy I sent to do a job says it's done right - it is. When in reality, his guys mistake almost cost me a lot. Thankfully, one electrician swapped out the breaker at no cost as he was ashamed someone in the business would leave it like that. A swap that Randy told me would be 350 if he had to come back.
